I would like someone to please show me where doe it say in the Bible the word Christmas. Do you know anything about the Celtic and why they use the mistletoe. What is wreath mainly used for? Thou shalt not bear false witness. I lived in Israel, shepards to do not keep their flocks during that time. It is the rainy cold season. They keep it between April til June. That's a lie that has been told. Read Jer Chapter 10 about the so call Christmas Tree! Kissing under the mistletoe and the ornaments on the tree come from the Celtic's. The would take the skull of their enemy clean it and put a candle in it. The worship the evergreen tree! The Celtic men were tall blonde with long hair and blue eyes; they would beat their beautiful muscle bodies and they only wore a cape with a broach. They rub with oil to show off their muscles and body and they were homosexual. They would kiss under the mistletoe. Read it! Wreath is use for death, YAHSHUS HAS RISEN!!!! YAHSHUA was born during the time of the Holy Convocation of Unleavened Bread the same time HE died during that week! Luke 2:42

Finally, I never read in the Bible that a exact date was given for YAHSHUA'S BIRTH!  I also never read where HE SAID to celebrate HIS BIRTH, I read to celebrate HIS death and that he has risen! I do not follow pagan rituals. When I was a little girl the SDA church did not do all of this!

Not certain but I think I am older than you and yes the SDA church did celebrate christmas when I was a little girl. The evergreen tree was not decorated with skulls with candles.  Mittens and hats for those in need. Warm jackets under the tree. Nor did we have Celtic blonde men. We did have a potluck meal for any that wanted to attend and or was hungry.

I don"t know of one person that was confused as to the birth of Jesus. We all knew it was not Dec 25th. We didn't have mistletoe. Those blonde Celtic men must have gotten awfully cold in some climates with just a cape and broach

As for my family we truly enjoy christmas.  I am really glad you do not follow pagan rituals

Bonnie I did too, when I did not know any better. My mother bought us things but she never celebrated Christmas before becoming an SDA. She believed in Santa Claus when she was little. She even made cookies. She wanted to see Santa so she sneak to see him and it was her father and her mother was helping him get dress. She was hurt because they lied to her and they said to her never to lie. Yet, they did! She always told us my daddy was the Santa and She was the Clause. She never bought a tree! Well as I teenager, I did, I was really into it. I had to have a real tree from the forest and I decorated it to the tee! I did my last one when I was carrying my son. Right after Christmas I was in the SDA Commentaries my favorite books and somehow, it fell on Jerm Chapter 10 and I read do not go the ways of the heathen! I read just exactly how I did a Christmas tree, I was schock! I then went to the library and got a book on American Holidays and I was totally enlighten. But, I stop celebrating Christmas, but I would give my son gifts and then I asked him did he want them on Christmas. You, see, we would go and pick out his gifts. He said he did not need to do on this day. I never did it again. However, as a historian by degree, I studied it and I know it is a lie. It breaks YAHWEH'S Commandments. I cannot force anyone what to do, I can only tell them what the Bible says. It is a choice that everyone must make for themselves! I made mind up and I tell what I learned and that's it!

Helping others should not be once a year, it should be all the time. I had a non profit organization and I serve dinners a lot, I had Thanksgiving dinners and yes, I serve the people around Christmas because I was meeting them where they were at. I spread the truth and many were baptized in our little church. They also learned the truth about Christmas and they stopped celebrating it! That's what we should do help all the time with love and truth and meet them where they are and bring up to YAHSHUA! I never served pork or anything unclean because we are not touch it! I am vegan now but I served the turkey, chicken and good ole collard and turnip green without pork and the loved. I even taught them how to vegetarian meats and the loved it! You can change people, not me but THE HOLY SPIRIT!

Merry Christmas to everyone.  No christmas at our house this year because of covid.   I am not that afraid of it but my husband has COPD along with other health issues. Family has to many contacts with others and there is no way of knowing . JUst the two of us. .So I am having a pity party remembering Christmas past.

Thanks. Sorry I wasnt more clear. My husband has some health issues that put him at risk.  He does not have covid. He has COPD and if he were to get covid it would be deadly

The grinches will always be out to get the folks having any cheer on Christmas!

One thing that always gets me are the ones who think because it is not mentioned in the Bible, then it is not a valid celebration to remember the birth of Jesus. Many things are not in the Bible, but then the Bible also tells us to reason together and put the evidence together to come up with beliefs.

However, actually the birth of Jesus was celebrated in the Bible. The wise men came from very far off guided by heaven to worship the newborn King. The angels sang for the shepherd in the fields and sent them on their way to see Him. The ones who didn't get to see Him were the religious grinches of the day.

The fact that we celebrate on December 25 is not really relevant. In other places they have different days. But what is relevant is that much of the whole world gets on the same "page" every year to remember the birth of Jesus. In its own way, this is also the spreading of the gospel.

Bonnie you have that right, that is call the power of choice! I have the right to not accept a lie, or to follow the world. I have the choice to remember YAHSHUA'S death and that HE has risen and standing before HIS FATHER! I have the right to believe in keeping all of THE FATHER'S Commands like Abraham did. I have the right to obey what the Bible says. I never condemn you because I do not have that right! THE FATHER IS THE JUDGE and if I obey the Bible, then that is what obey. That is simple to me. I never said anything about you or your family. What gets me you can say what demeaning which is insulting. I never said that to you neither did I demean you at all. I said that I feel that given out things only at Christmas does serve the purpose. Why because people need help year round. Now, you express what you did for Christmas and never said a word about that at all. But, when I express my giving its demeaning. Bonnie you know what, my cousin who is close to me, we do everything together has COPD too. I know how you feel about his health during the COVID and I have worked with her too! I don't know if you give him ginger and lemon tea it is very good for  COPD. Also, have you heard of Mulling and Boneset it excellent for all lung diseases. I also use honey with orange blossom or clover. If you get it, get in the bulk and you can grow these herbs as well. You boil the lemon, the two tea and honey together. Mullin is a pleasant tasting tea and can be drunk anytime. Boneset is bitter tasting. If you make the tea for your husband take double mullin to a handful of boneset. I suggest you read up on them first and then you can make your choice about using them. Oh one other thing I don't recommend if you husband eat beef, not to. It is full of mucus that goes to the lung and it is toxic and hard to digest. You should read up on that as well.

Finally,  all who know me on this forum knows I do not personally condemn anyone. I will tell you what the Bible says and it is of no private interpretation. We as SDA use to preach that a lot! I do not like when people don't like what the Bible says and try to make me self righteous above others. I provide what is says and that is what we all once did as we spread the truth. It appears that has changed! Do, I put down the church, yes because it has wander away from what we first stood for Biblically. The church has always had a problem with systematic racism going back to the days of the pioneers. We have never address it! It has made a difference. It is time to seriously face it. That include all people of color! When we do many who cannot deal with the truth, I feel will leave!!!!!

You condemn others frequently. When you accuse me or anyone else of worshipping Trump because of a vote for him that is exactly what you are doing. Or accuse me of racism because of who I voted for you do exactly that.

Do you think SDA's needed your not so subtle reminders not to serve unclean food?  Am I obligated to tell you what I do for others outside of the Christmas season to assure you that I am smart enough to figure out people are cold and hungry and need help year around? Do you need to know the bags and boxes I have given to a private aid group to Haiti? If it makes you feel better that I can figure that out I gave 25 very large bags of goods to Haiti alone? Locally I have given blankets and quilts. If you feel the need to know more just PM me.

Your very frequent emphasizing race/skin color and how racist I and everyone  is that voted for Trump might effect that  . Right or wrong I know some that never considered race that  now certainly have some pretty strong feelings.

I will never deny the contempt I have for Trump because he gave plenty of money to the Democratic party. He was tight with Epstein and I know you will bring up Clinton that they friends as well. Like I said I am not a fan of Clinton either. But, Trump and Epstein were tight and they came to each other parties a lot. He is making a mockery out of the Republican party. The COVID is not just killing Democrat! It is killing Republicans too! Republicans are unemployed and are losing their homes. I know they are crying over the phone because their unemployment benefits are ending tomorrow. I have to listen to people period and tried not to lose it and to comfort them. They tell me they voted for him and I just tell I am sorry about the divisions between the parties. They cry because they don't have money or things for Christmas and in my heart, I cry with them. It makes no difference to me about party or ethnic background. They all are YAHWEH'S created beings!

You know, you would say Haiti! Because it is a Black poor country which started due to slavery. I certainly do place a lot importance on systematic racism. Barak Obama played golf every Sunday with Joe Biden who used government aircraft to fly down from Delaware at taxpayer expense to play with the president. And Obama did this during the time the border patrol was putting "children" in cages. But lets not condemn our boy Barak. (You did refer to Trump as a boy once.) Now in your divine wisdom do you actually believe I said Haiti because it is a black, poor country? You see racism behind every corner, sentence spoken, action taken. I said Haiti because that is where the bulk of what I have to give goes. I do so because of a wonderful "WHITE" woman that has done so much for the women of Haiti. It is particularly attractive to me because she has a very extensive network of "racist" women like myself that operates without government aid or interference.
