We enable humanitarian aid throughout the duration of the war to enter Gaza – otherwise, there would be no Gazans.” President Donald Trump on Monday said he disagrees with Netanyahu’s claim of no starvation in Gaza, noting the images emerging of emaciated people: “Those children look very hungry.”   The World Health Organization said Sunday there have been 63 malnutrition-related deaths in Gaza this month, including 24 children under the age of 5 — up from 11 deaths total the previous six months of the year. The WHO also says acute malnutrition in northern Gaza tripled this month, reaching nearly one in five children under 5 years old, and has doubled in central and southern Gaza. The Patient’s Friends Hospital, the main emergency center for malnourished kids in northern Gaza, says this month it saw for the first time malnutrition deaths in children who had no preexisting conditions.   Israel asserts that Hamas is the reason aid isn’t reaching Palestinians in Gaza and accuses its militants of siphoning off aid to support its rule in the territory. The U.N. denies that looting of aid is systematic and that it lessens or ends entirely when enough aid is allowed to enter Gaza.

Israeli airstrike targets and kills Al Jazeera correspondent as toll worsens on Gaza journalists Israel’s military targeted an Al Jazeera correspondent with an airstrike Sunday, killing him, another network journalist and at least six other people, all of whom were sheltering outside a Gaza City hospital complex. Recent developments: Officials at Shifa Hospital said those killed included Al Jazeera correspondents Anas al-Sharif and Mohamed Qreiqeh. What to know: The military released its initial findings into the strike, offering no immediate explanation for striking twice and no evidence for an assertion that six of the dead were militants, including two who were identified by their employers as a health care worker at the hospital and an emergency services driver. The dead also included five journalists.   The military said the back-to-back strikes on southern Gaza’s largest hospital were ordered because soldiers believed militants were using the camera to observe Israeli forces. But its account appeared to contradict witnesses at the scene of Monday’s attack on Nasser Hospital.   Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, an Israeli army spokesperson, said none of the journalists killed in the strikes was suspected of being associated with militant groups and that they were not targeted.

There appears to be a major disconnect happening in Israel between many of its citizens and the country’s leadership. As hundreds of thousands of demonstrators take to the streets, demanding a ceasefire and the return of the hostages held by Hamas, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been speaking about “the unity of the people” and proclaiming that Israel is on “the path to victory” as it moves to escalate the 22-month war in Gaza. In response to the rallies, Netanyahu and his allies have denounced the protesters — including the families of the hostages — and accused them of aiding Hamas. Israel is facing international condemnation as well for its assault on the biggest hospital in southern Gaza, a back-to-back attack that killed at least 22 people. New video obtained by CNN provided more details about the bombing, including the fact that there was a third strike.
