Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted April 14, 2009 Members Posted April 14, 2009 How did Jezebel die? she was thrown out a palace window and horses trampled her (this is what my Bible says) 2 Kings 9:33-36 Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Administrators Gail Posted April 14, 2009 Author Administrators Posted April 14, 2009 Well, I remember that she put on her makeup first (2 Ki.9:30) Then two eunuchs threw her out the window and her blood splattered on the wall and the horses. Then it looks like it was Jehu who trampled her underfoot. Then the DOGS ate her- yucck!! By the time someone thought that she should have some sort of burial since she was a princess, the dogs had eaten her all up except for her skull, feet and the palms of her hands (v35). In verse 31 of 2 Kings, Jezebel says to Jehu, "Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of your master?" Wasn't Zimri the king's servant who killed the king that we had a question about not long ago- 1 Kings 16? That is why Jezebel called Jehu, "Zimri, murderer of your master". Jehu was on a rampage, it seems, thirsty for royal blood after hearing a prophet predict that he would clean up (annihilate) the house of Ahab. He killed Joram (Jehoram) king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah before finally catching up with Jezebel. I don't know why someone hasn't made a movie about Jezebel yet.
