Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Pam, you were right on both names! Good for you!

How do those who do not have God's Spirit consider the things of God?

they think that the things of God are foolishness - because he cannot understand them, for those things are spiritually discerned.

Yes, that's exactly right. Spiritually things just don't make sense when the heart is not in the right place.

Wouldn't it have been when Joseph, Mary and Jesus was told to leave Egypt and go back to Nazareth, because the people that had been trying to kill him were now dead? Jesus would have been a small child at this time.

It's in Mat. 2: around verse 19, I think?

For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Mat. 16:26

Yes, Liz is bang on. Jesus' family had to flee Israel when he was a babe because of the threat of death. Matthew 2:15 He just missed being one of those infants that Herod ordered killed. There is a prophecy that foretold that Rachel would be crying for her children, because they were not.

Then they finally got word that that Herod had died, so they returned to their homeland, which was Nazareth. So in doing this Jesus fulfilled the prophecy also that he would be called a Nazarene.

Good work, Liz!

I was going to say, Yes, because it was the first thing to come to my mind, too.

But Matthias was the replacement for the 12th. That would make, according to Romans 1:1, PAUL the 13th apostle.

Those are all correct, Pam. There are also some more: Simon, a brother of Jesus-Mark 6:3; a disciple- Acts 1:13; Simon the Pharisee (Luke 7:36,40); Simon Iscariot (Judas' father-John 6:71) and Simon the tanner- Acts 9:43.
