Woody Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 I'll get back with you ... I am trying to get something nice and juicy from Fox News. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Beryl Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Redwood, pardon me for poking my nose into USA business, but, really, if you were in Aussie, harping on the same subject all the time, you would be told that you have a bee in your bonnet! No-one else seems to be agreeing with you. Beryl Quote "Grace is God doing for us, in us and through us that which He requires of us but which is impossible for us to do in or for ourselves." But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:9.

Bill Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Obama isn't the one who fumbled during the oath it was the chief justice. I wouldn't depend too heavily on Fox News for accuracy. Bill Quote
Members phkrause Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 Bill it wasn't only foxnews that claimed that. I heard that on quite a few news shows. And you are correct it was the chief justice that started the problem with the oath. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Woody Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 But it was Obama who chose to say what he knew was wrong. Now that concerns me the most. Choosing to do what is wrong ... is not what a president should do. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 I guess I didn't hear that. Thanks. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Woody Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 That's a Redwoodism pk. Obama stopped the oath when he heard the justice say the wrong words ... that is apparent to me. Why else would be stop and not repeat what was said? The justice then corrected himself slightly before Obama decided to repeat what the justice had incorrectly said. Thus my conclusion and Redwoodism. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Neil D Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 That's a Redwoodism pk. Obama stopped the oath when he heard the justice say the wrong words ... that is apparent to me. Why else would be stop and not repeat what was said? The justice then corrected himself slightly before Obama decided to repeat what the justice had incorrectly said. Thus my conclusion and Redwoodism. Oooh good night! 1] both men knew the Chief Justice messed up on the order of the words. 2] Both men were thinking about what to say. Obama hesitated.... 3] As Chief Justice Roberts STARTED TO CORRECT HIMSELF, Obama repeated the incorrect oath. Obama never heard CJ Roberts, because they were virtually talking at the same time. All the words are there, and they mean the same things and there is nothing that says that the oath has to be verbatim. 4]But just to be sure, in a private ceremony with many other private individuals around and with Chief Justice Roberts, they both repeated the oath of office correctly, this time. 5] IN BOTH CASES, Chief Justice Roberts assured Obama and those present that Obama was the President of the United States. Redwood, your persistant doubt boarders upon the fanaticism of conspiracy theorists....And to hear this diatribe is just plain sick....
