Paul keeps NT Christians ballanced?

Not those who refuse his teaching, which are from God Himself:

Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God--

Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness--

Gal 1:1 Paul, an apostle--sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead--

1 Cor 15:10 But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me – and not without results. For I have worked harder than all the other apostles, yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.

I did not say I have no sin, but I did say I keep the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments are the covenant of the kingdom of heaven, they are not the means for scantification. The process of scantification is the process by which we are perfected in the truth once that is accomplished then we are without sin. Then we are sealed with the seal of the living God.

1John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.(not some, or most but all unrighteousness)

Re 14:5 And no lie was found in their mouth; they are blameless.

John 17:17 "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

Joh 16:13 "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

John 3:19-21 "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. "But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."

John 8:32 "...and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

These are but a few of a plethora of texts on the subject of righteousness all clearly make the case of the scantification process which is the path to the kingdom of heaven/God

Great story. I couldnt agree more with you.

It is much the same as being a citizen of a State where most everything is characterized by various levels of imperfection, that is, by the numbers 600, 60, and/or 6 (cf. Strong’s #G5516.)

I believe that it is about having a relationship with Jesus which needs to be taught, sola scripture does not save, but a relationship does.

Dear Solja,

I don’t know what you mean by saying that “sola scripture does not save, but a relationship does,” but if you mean to say that “the teachings of the Scriptures may be disregarded in one’s relationship with Jesus,” then I couldn’t agree with you.

On the other hand, if your intention is to say that “the Bible alone without a living relationship with God does not save,” then I am happy to agree with you. I believe that goes hand in hand with the Bible rule that teaches us never to begin a Bible study without first turning ourselves in prayer to our God and Savior.

Lastly, I wish to share with you this link to a prior post of mine re one most unscriptural creed, that is, the one re the Trinity. I hope you will find it valuable in your ongoing relationship with Yehoshua, our Savior.

Shalom,

Just a question…

Dear WayFinder,

Just a question for you: When asked by a police man or customs officer to identify yourself, what kind of ID do you show him?

Do any of you have any idea from where or whom the term 'sola scriptura' originated?

Martin Luther rejected all authority of the Church and declared that the Bible was the sole authority.

Sola Scriptura, scripture alone as the only authority on religious matters.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

The important thing is whether the concept is found in the Bible, not whether the word itself is found there. You won't find "Incarnation" or "Trinity" in the Bible, either, yet both doctrines are clearly taught there. The fact is that the Bible teaches that God investigates the minds and hearts and lives of believers prior to the Second Coming of Christ. Se Matt. 22: 1-14. The Greek word for "search" is the same word used today by modern Greek police in their investigations.

See the Hebrew word, bachan, as in Ps. 11: 4, 5, and the Greek word, Ereunao, as used in Rev. 2: 23 and Rom. 8: 27.

Study these words in the Theological Dictionaries and the Lexicons.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

I completely agree with you. Good counsel.

Paul keeps NT Christians ballanced? Is that like yin and yang

The epistles of Paul are part of the Holy Scriptures and as such are the inspired word of God.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

I am sure you obey the "laws of the land" and don't see that as legalizm, the same is true with the law of God.

Apples and oranges....

Well, there you go! Robert, you just solved the problem with the New Testament. Thanks

Tell me where the "Holy Scriptures" we have today come from. You will find that God did not hand someone a manuscript and tell them, this is the Holy Scripture. The Bible was put together by councils, which were comprised of men who were the originators of the Universal Christian Church, known today as the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church used the same "Holy Scriptures" as the athority for the truth of Catholicism. Without Paul, we would have the Catholic church, the Protestant Churches, or Gnostic religions. What we would have is a church based upon the teachings of the Son of God.

Matthew 24:4,5 And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. "For many will come in My name, saying, `I am the Christ,' and will mislead many

Paul claimed to come in the name of Christ and he said I am of Christ and he certanly has misled many. The phrase 'I am the Christ' a better translation is, a follower or I am of Christ.

Revelation 2:1,2 "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: The One who holds the seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks among the seven golden lampstands, says this: `I know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false;...

What I find interesting in this statement is that it is addressed to an assembly that Paul started.

Re the Origin of the term ‘Sola Scriptura’

and Why It Didn’t Happen…

Do any of you have any idea from where or whom the term 'sola scriptura' originated?

Rob, my analogy was to the difference between legalism and law abiding, I had no deeper meaning. I have no argument with you about love and the law, I whole heartedly agree. I agree that legalism would be described as keeping the law without love. A better analogy for me to have used is that of parents and their children or a husband and wife. In both cases certain laws, written or unwritten and given and followed because of the love and trust exhibited by both parties.

You keep me sharp Rob, I appreciate that.

Sola Scriptura was an invention of Martin Luther to counter the Catholic church tradition that what the Pope said through the priests was directly from God, and that to go against what they said was to go directly against God. What Martin Luther did was to merely move this infallibility from the person of the Pope and the Church to the Bible as the ultimate infallible authority. Before this happened NO ONE could even conceive that a written document such as the New Testament that was put together by men would be viewed in this way.

To believe that men of any strip or earthly authority such as the Catholic priests and bishops at the Council of Nicea and Leodicea could command that one writer over another was now be considered the actual Words of God is to participate in the worst kind of idolatry and/or blashpheme.

Martin Luther was right. It really wasn't his invention. It is based on what the Bible itself says.

Study the wonderful chapter in The Great Controversy, "The Scriptures a Safeguard," pp. 593-602.
