Jack Sequeira - Teacher of new light or Teacher of Error?

joeb, do you think you have the pure unadulterated truth?   No errors?

Gerry,

Jesus also promised that the Holy Spirit would lead us into all truth. [John 16:13]  Is  this promise, as well as the one found in John 7:17, true, or are they lies for they are one or the other.  There is no middle ground.

I trust God to keep His word to me, and, whenever I open His word I ask for the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide me and to keep me from studying to
prove my own biases, but to make sure I am studying to understand His word as He gave it.  I also claim His promises like the ones I've quoted. Am I to believe that in my study He is going to abandon me to wander around in a forest of error after making these requests of Him?  Absolutely not.  Do I know all truth?  No.  I have not studied everything the Bible teaches in depth.  But those things I have studied I trust that God has led me into His truth.  I can honestly say I never ignore anything the Bible has to say about anything I study.  I incorporate the entire Bible into all of my beliefs, thus I truly believe I am not in error in any of those areas.

If I am mistaken about something I know God will reveal that to me.  I trust His word.  I have no reason not to.  I never choose to believe something that the entire Bible does not endorse.  I do not hold onto things that contradict the Bible.  The more I study, pray for God's leading into His truth and not my preconceptions the more I trust that He will not allow me to believe error.  And those things which I oppose here are those things which multiple parts of the Bible contradict.

Does the Bible lie in anything?  Is it not God's word?  How can we safely say I will accept only those parts that agree with me?  I'm the one learning from God.  I don't educate God on anything.

Maybe not, and admittedly not knowing exactly what you're referring to, however  taking God at His Word I'm satisfied that Jesus can be found throughout all of the Word, re: His saving grace. The fact that it was not clearly recognized or understood did not make it less than the Truth.

1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.....Jude 1

What Robert talks about here all the time, and has been the focus of this thread, is called the "in Christ" motif by Jack Sequira who first promulgated this idea.  You can find nothing in the OT to support this idea.  And, the entire plan of salvation was given by God in the laws give to Israel through Moses.  So, if the "in Christ" motif cannot be verified from the OT it is not a God-given part of the plan of salvation.

46Then Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! 48For He has looked with favor on the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed.…Luke 1

Since Mary had no other Scripture except the OT to base her conclusions on, as well as Jesus Who said "I and My Father are One" identifying the Father as her Savior,  along with what the angel told her the scripture above is evidence enough for me of the validity of the "in Christ" platform of belief throughout the Word.

Is sanctification necessary.

Does a baby, who dies prematurely, experience sanctification?  The answer is obviously no.  Yet Ellen White states "some" infants will be in heaven. See 2 SM 260

What then qualifies these infants to enter heaven?  Is it not the imputed righteousness of Christ alone? So apparently sanctification is not a prerequisite to one's salvation.

You just keep on trotting out the same logical fallacies again and again.  I've already answered this false equivalency.

If you don't need anymore of the Bible than that to show what the Bible teaches then you can prove anything you choose.  You can prove Jesus was mentally ill, suffering from great depression, because you know, Jesus wept.

Not really trying to to prove anything but here's a couple of texts you might find of interest. And BTW, it's the Holy Spirit Who is responsible for proving what the Truth is.

....you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.2Timothy 3

8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. 9Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace and not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those devoted to them.…Hebrews 13

4Make me know Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. 5Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day. 6Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and Your lovingkindnesses, For they have been from of old.…Psalms 25

1The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, 2who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near......Revelation 1

Here's something I was just listening to that you might find enlightening.

No thanks on the Heritick Swingers.  I've had too much experience with the Mace family.

I like that you post a text that says "all" Scripture is inspired, but yet you support a theology that directly contradicts what the Bible has to say about sanctification...  Ironic isn't it....

This text seems to reveal Christ is all and in all. What theology are you speaking of.
