Tell you what, you prove that she is B.S. and I will take the time to prove that she isn't.

Well, it's obvious that she isn't Mary, so she MUST be Britney Spears! :D

With that line of reasoning, you are just as close to the truth as he is.

'Twas my point. Something that is totally obvious to one person sounds absolutely ridiculous to someone else. And it could very well be.

God is the Father of Christ; Christ is the Son of God. To Christ has been given an exalted position. He has been made equal with the Father. All the counsels of God are opened to His Son. {8T 268}

Just because I am my Father's son, does not make me inferior to him.

There are a couple of issues here.

Is Christ God? or some created being that God "made"?

If Christ is God - then does he also share the God attribute of being "from eternity past"??

Both Ellen White and the Bible agree that He is God and that He had no beginning -- and is from eternity past.

Once you get to that simple step - you see the futility in denying the trinity because regardless of God the Son in the role of Michael or of Christ or of... - you have the overarching issue of God the Son - as eternal - (having no beginning Heb 7) God.

And there you have a concept beyond the mind of man.

in Christ,

Bob

Bob, you are absolutly right, we are trying to describe infinite, transendent omnipotant beings, when we have trouble explaining and understanding the finite world we live in.

Will the truth please stand up.

It will happen soon. He will throw down the censor and that will be that.

Actually, the truth has already been raised up... and has drawn us all to Himself.

Karl, what do you know about the casting down of the censer?

Karl, what do you know about the casting down of the censer?

Not enough. You could fill me in. Here is all I know:

Revelation 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. 6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

do you want him to get it from the bible or the epic of gilgamesh?

Richard, you make being a woman sound somehow inferior.

SivartM, Because her picture is not smeared all over the tabloids!

the Holy Spirit is not female. many languages, such as spanish, have feminine/masculine genders, something we dont have in english so we dont "get" it. the words ruach/pneuma is feminine, but that hardly makes the Holy Spirit a female any more than la mesa makes a table a female.

here is the gnostic understanding of the Holy Spirit:

Tau Malachi writes: The following is a traditional invocation of the Holy Shekinah from the Sophian Gnostic tradition:

I will spare you the quotes from the epic, you will need to read it for yourself. The "Epic of Gilgamesh" was written before the days of Abraham. It speaks of a device that turned every way and guarded the way to the launch pad in the land of the rockets. The description of this device, in the epic, sounds very similar to the "flaming sword" which went back and forth. God is not an archaic God, but one who is technologically advanced beyond anything we can imagine.

ive read the epic, thank you, :)but we need to remember that the pagan religions all "evolved" from the true religion which was handed down by word of mouth until recorded by moses. so while there is some truth in them, we have to be careful in what we choose to believe as truth from them.

I purposely left the gender part of the words for spirit out of my post. I understand that words alone are not enough evidence, that is why I gave the Genesis 1, John 3, and Revelation 12 texts because they describe a woman in their context and connect that description with God.

I agree with you without question on this, all I was saying is that there is a weapon of similar description to the "flaming sword" in the epic of Gilgamesh and nothing more.

I know some things about the casting down of the censer, one is that is the close of the judgment for the kingdom of God.

Matthew 25:10 "And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast ; and the door was shut.

11 "Later the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, lord, open up for us.' 12 "But he answered, 'Truly I say to you, I do not know you.' 13 "Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour

but if we allow the bible to explain the bible we find that in prophecy "woman" means the people of God.

hosea, ezekiel 16 and 23.

Eze 23:2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:

Eze 23:3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.

Eze 23:4 And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.

Amen sister, the word woman stands for God's church and has for a long long time.

The only texts in my post that are prophecy is Revelation 12, Genesis 1 and John 3 are definately not prophecy. The other point is that God likened His people to a wife, His wife, so how else would He describe His people other than as a woman. If God uses a woman to symbolize His people than how would you explain the woman of Revelation 17 who is sitting on the scarlet beast?

Another thing, if the Woman of Revelation 12 represents God's people than who are her offspring?

Richard, you make me smile, thank you.
