Guest Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 That's all true, but it doesn't change the fact that true faith produces the fruit of obedience. Rom 6:16 Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Quote
Robert Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 That's all true, but it doesn't change the fact that true faith produces the fruit of obedience. Imperfect obedience: "All incense [everything we do *] from earthly tabernacles [fallen humans] must be moist with the cleansing drops of the blood of Christ. He holds before the Father the censer of His own merits, in which there is no taint of earthly corruption [iniquity: our bent to self]. He gathers into this censer the prayers, the praise, and the confessions of His people, and with these He puts His own spotless righteousness. Then, perfumed with the merits of Christ’s propitiation, the incense comes up before God wholly and entirely acceptable. Then gracious answers are returned. O, that all may see that everything in obedience , in penitence, in praise and thanksgiving must be placed upon the glowing fire of the righteousness of Christ. The fragrance of this righteousness ascends like a cloud around the mercy seat (MS 50, 1900)." * "The religious services, the prayers, the praise, the penitent confession of sin ascend from true believers as incense to the heavenly sanctuary" Quote
Woody Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 AMEN And All the People said: AMEN 2.215 Yes folks ... I think our prophet hit that one spot on. Thanks for bringing that to us Rob. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
MariaS Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 If you love Me keep my commandment Jesus says to me..I LOVE YOU I WILL KEEP YOUR COMMANDMENT ..THAT WHAT I WILL SAY And heaven is cheap for people who obey Him but its expensive for those who do not want to be there because of disobeydient May this help you to think deeply..not to give excuses but to go back to the bible Quote The rules of life - Love and serve God - Remember choices, not circumstances, determine the flavor of our lives - Live each day so that you'll never be afraid of tomorrow nor ashamed of yesterday

Guest Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 We tried to call up our greatest trials, but they looked so small compared with the far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory that surrounded us, that we could not speak them out, and we all cried out, "Alleluia! heaven is cheap enough!" and we touched our glorious harps and made heaven's arches ring. {CET 61} Quote
Woody Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 You two are two peas in a pod. But I remain confused as to whether you agree or disagree with our prophet as quoted by Rob? I pray you are not acting insouciant. Hi dAb !!! Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
MariaS Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Thank you Woody for the compliment at the first part of your message.. I doubted the second part..so..NO COMMENT Quote The rules of life - Love and serve God - Remember choices, not circumstances, determine the flavor of our lives - Live each day so that you'll never be afraid of tomorrow nor ashamed of yesterday
Woody Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Doubting is fine. We can agree to disagree. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
MariaS Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Doubting to a man is fine but not doubting God. I only disagree when I think its not in harmony with the written and inspired word of God. At the end of the day..our salvation is at stake when we don't listen to Him Quote The rules of life - Love and serve God - Remember choices, not circumstances, determine the flavor of our lives - Live each day so that you'll never be afraid of tomorrow nor ashamed of yesterday
Woody Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Quote: I only disagree when I think its not in harmony with the written and inspired word of God I agree. It was a quote from Ellen White and thus ... not the word of God. But I find that she often times explains the Bible very accurately. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
teresaq Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 No the Devil cannot produce good fruit. It's impossible. And we are told to look for the good fruit. Mat 7:16 You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Mat 7:20 Therefore by their fruits you shall know them. as long as we dont equate "fruit" with doctrines and beliefs we're fine. true fruit would be behaving the way Christ did...unfortunately there is counterfeit fruit. a superficial wordy love. it says the right things-but is not lived from the heart, nor truly sought. MariaS Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Let us remember that if we do not heed the cautions that God gives us, a fall is before us. {OHC 307} Those who profess godliness, yet do not heed the admonitions of the Lord, nor regulate their lives in harmony with his holy will, fasten themselves more and more firmly by chains of darkness. {2SP 287} =The Inspired Messages= Quote The rules of life - Love and serve God - Remember choices, not circumstances, determine the flavor of our lives - Live each day so that you'll never be afraid of tomorrow nor ashamed of yesterday

MariaS Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Amen Teresaq, you are right. A side notes, to bear the fruit of the spirit and righteousness is easy and we dont have to strive hard. Just stays with the vine because Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. (How can the branch bear fruit if it is cut off from the trunk/vine) Quote The rules of life - Love and serve God - Remember choices, not circumstances, determine the flavor of our lives - Live each day so that you'll never be afraid of tomorrow nor ashamed of yesterday
MariaS Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Quote: true fruit would be behaving the way Christ did I've never seen anyone accomplishing that. But then, perhaps it's not mine to be looking at. I have seen many people but again perfection in charecter is a long life progress. Perhaps our understanding of perfection in Christ is wrong. If it were difficult, why was Enoch translated to heaven? why was Elijah taken on a chariot to heaven..why was Moses instead of the earthly Canan but to the heavenly Canan.. Because it is possible to achieve a progressive perfection. Not like Jesus completely but to be changed into His likeness in His grace and mercy. Not by might nor by strenth says the Lord but by My Spirit. Jer 13:23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil. we have to fall on the Rock and be broken...or...
