Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted March 20, 2011 Administrators Posted March 20, 2011 Yes, duck and goose are kosher. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
Overaged Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I guess goose has an enormous amount of fat in it tho...one has to wonder sometimes at why certain things are "clean," eh? Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted March 20, 2011 Administrators Posted March 20, 2011 That's because "clean" does not mean healthful. It means "pure". My theory is that those critters that God identified at the time of Noah as being "clean" were the purebreds that had uncorrupted bloodlines from the ones He created. The "unclean" were those that had been crossbred or mutated as a result of sin. He saved some of those unclean because they served a useful purpose in a sin-altered world. This also fits better with the clean vs unclean distinction and function of being pure and holy before God in Mosaic law. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." But yes, lots of interesting things to look into there. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Moderators Gerr Posted March 20, 2011 Moderators Posted March 20, 2011 Seems to me while ducks are often considered clean in North America, they are not considered clean in the Philippines is that correct? I don't know about that. Quote
