MariaS Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Is that "Canadian?" Wow! I didn't know that! I think I had better go back to my excercise room and do those 200 situps I am supposed to do. Might be better for me than to learn how to speak "Canadian." Overaged, I like that flying bird. Well, when we put all the different things Christians say we should be doing on the list of obedience, I would imagine everyone would be apostate. But I imagine you are only referring to your set of rules which you call god's rules. It reminds me of the saying that judgement is like a mud fight. Everyone gets dirty. Gerry does not want to eat chicken at all. I can tell. And the desire to do so is not sinful, but he doesn't even have that. Quote
Woody Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I dunno. The pull for KFC is a strong one. I went there just this week. (My one time confession. Don't expect more) Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. Â

Last time I checked, chicken was a clean meat, so eating it is not a sin. It may be a poor idea for health reasons, but that's different from being a sin (biblical definition = disobeying the law of God). The Bible clearly tells us we MAY EAT certain meats and fish. Moderators Gerr Posted March 19, 2011 Moderators Posted March 19, 2011 Clean meat, yes, but I can't even stand the smell anymore. I lost appetite for chicken when a college schoolmate who had worked in a chicken farm told me that those chickens that were deemed unable to make it through the weekend were sold to roadside restaurants. Also, when we came to NC, I rented an old farmhouse which turned out to be surrounded by chicken houses. The poor creatures never saw the blue skies once they were brought in as chicks until the day they are sent to the slaughterhouse. Quote

Stan Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 One does not know how much of a personality a chicken has until someone has one for a pet. We seem not to attach a character to what we are deep frying or eating.
