Guest Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 There are some people that we just cannot get along with. God says he will wipe away all tears but when we see someone that we consider an enemy in Heaven, will there be any thought or remembrence of that person? Will we be friends now? Quote
Members phkrause Posted July 12, 2011 Members Posted July 12, 2011 Paul(Saul as Stephen will know him by) & Stephen were more than just enemies. I think there will be joy when we see those that were our friends. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Guest Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 So would we just be cordial with our "enemies" or will we be like "Hey Glad you made it" I feel that when we see people that we consider enemies..it will be a hello and goodbye thing..we wont be hanging out. We will remember our close frineds and family that are there and make new friends, but I dont think I will coming to the mansion of someone who was my enemy on earth. Quote
Members phkrause Posted July 12, 2011 Members Posted July 12, 2011 Well an interesting thought. I'm not saying we will be the best of friends. But I do believe we will be very glad to see them. I also believe that we are trying to compare heavenly reason with how we reason now on a sinful earth. I think we will be really surprised at our reactions of others. ClubV12 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 We will not recall even our most trying ordeal on this earth when in heaven, as reported by Ellen White. While we may TRY, those memories will be gone, when every tear is wiped away. The proclamation will be, "Heaven is cheap enough" (Early Writings), according to the Lords messenger. Therefore, we will not recall who or under what circumstances our worst enemies were or what they have done or were about. We will simply see them as another member of the heavenly host. We will all be perfectly united by and with the love of God and the glory of association with all the heavenly beings. Questions about who was saved, who was not and why and why not will be answered during the 1,000 year review following the second coming. The sadness over souls lost will continue right up through the final attack on the New Jerusalem. As we will see some of our loved ones attacking the city, and mourn for them. Following that final conflict, that final battle, THAT is when every tear shall be wiped away and all memories of "trial and tribulation" are at last forever forgotten. Quote

Club, this is totally nonsense! EGW had no clue to the real truth. And NO, there will not be any enemies in heaven. There will only be a Kingdom of Heaven who are united in truth. Quote

ClubV12 Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 I find it very refreshing that Dr. Rich is straight forward about his rejection of Ellen White as a prophetess. I like that MUCH more than those who claim to believe Ellen White is the Lords messenger, and then offer up an endless string of quotes showing how false she is. Or the oft heard cry, "Well that was HER opinion." Thank you Dr. Rich for letting us know exactly where you stand! Disclaimer: You do realize, Dr. Rich, that I consider your various theories completely mistaken however. I just wanted to be as clear on that as you are concerning Ellen White, the Lords chosen messenger for our time. Every tear and every remembrance of our greatest trials and greatest enemies, wiped away! Praise God for that! Quote
Moderators John317 Posted July 13, 2011 Moderators Posted July 13, 2011 .... And NO, there will not be any enemies in heaven. There will only be a Kingdom of Heaven who are united in truth. Don't you mean current enemies? If so, I agree with you that there won't be any people in heaven who haven't forgiven one another and made peace. But don't you think that Isaiah and Manassah will both be in heaven? Manassah was a wicked king the last time Isaiah saw him, but Manassah was later converted and became a changed man. Also, both David and Uriah will be saved, and David was certainly Uriah's enemy for a while, having stolen his wife and ordered him murdered on the battlefield. But the point is, of course, that everyone saved in God's kingdom will be forgiven and will have forgiven their "enemies." Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

I'm inclined to believe that the 1000 years is more than just a clinical examination of the books in heaven. I believe it's a time for our healing from past hurts, understanding and growth in appreciation of the justice and character of God. There will be, i am sure, people who we do not expect to be there. An abusive father perhaps. Of course our enemies will be in heaven. When the Bible says "God will wipe away tears" it will be, to my mind, over a period of months, years, perhaps centuries. We shall all be changed but we will not become emotionless automatons. Memories will of course fade but I hope I will never forget those close to me who didn't make it to the kingdom. ClubV12 Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 I hope I will never forget those close to me who didn't make it to the kingdom. An interesting thought, I'm not sure I agree though. I think I would remember them with a bit of sadness and sadness is not compatible with heaven. I'm reminded of how "cold" it sounded when Jesus declared, "Let the dead bury their dead." When we have been called to the work of the Lord, a christian life, nothing can stand in the way. Not family, not your mother or father, not your precious loving child, nothing. Of course the balance is we won't abandon them, if possible, we should do our best to guide them to the light. But at some point, you will have to let it go and move on, let the dead bury their dead. We certainly won't be automans, but I think, after a review of a 1,000 years, it will be time to move on, time to forget. We are told we won't be able to recall our greatest tribulations, certainly a part of that will be lost souls, precious to us as well as to Him. But, like David, we must, at some point, put away the sack cloth, the time of mourning has come to an end. A new life begins. Quote

I think I would remember them with a bit of sadness and sadness is not compatible with heaven. In heaven our sorrow will be turned to joy. Remembering doesn't necessarily have to include sorrow. I don't think that Jesus' call to total commitment is applicable here. Those who are in heaven are evidently totally committed to Him. The closer we drawn to God the closer we are drawn to humanity. What is the "work of the Lord"?. Is it not to seek and to save that which was lost? Our sensitivity toward lost humanity increases as we draw closer to Jesus. Jesus was not telling the man that is not important to bury his father, he was simply saying that the Kingdom of God should be our top priority. It's like a mother who has been through the tribulation of childbirth. The joy of her new child consumes the pain of labor. Remembering a lost father does not have to be a tribulation. God himself won't forget, I hope I have the privilege too! Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. Einstein
ClubV12 Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Hmmmm, a worthy consideration. Only happy memories of an earth and a history long passed? I guess I can't rule that out! I very much love my dogs, being a single guy for many years now they bring me great joy and love. I thank God for the lessons they teach in total surrender, I rejoice in their happiness when they are playing with each other. So many good lessons the Lord brings to us through the animal world. Will I remember the good times, with family, friends and my animal friends? I guess one could not rule it out... Quote

Guest Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Its true that we must forgive our enemies to make it in the Kingdom, but deep down we will never forget until after the Millenium I guess. I still think that in the new earth we will be mostly with our loved ones, family, close friends..those who were not so close..will be a Hello and Have a Nice day conversation. Quote

Administrators Gail Posted July 13, 2011 Administrators Posted July 13, 2011 If I saw my enemies in Heaven, I would rejoice! For a person to come to Christ means that s/he's had to come to the Cross and be broken. Just knowing that would be good enough for me. I remember Scripture which tells us what our attitude is to be toward our enemies. To follow our Lord in that would take a miracle and a sacrifice of ours, to be sure. But after Jesus comes, what do our differences mean anymore? God has promised that "they will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain" Isaiah 11:9; 65:25 There will be nothing to fear any more once Jesus comes Awesome promises! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
