CoAspen Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Quote: With this kind of attitude it would indeed show the need for white conferences to protect the whites from black racism. Sad - but true. Have you been hit on the head...those types of comments are just so laughable.... Have you been a victim of black racism all/any time in your life? Tell us your experience, personal that is, and not anecdotal from others. You are coming across as very racist with those types of statements even though you continue to deny such. Maybe you need to explain your thoughts in more detail rather than say your against racism and then complain that it is the whites that need 'protection'. My self and others are confused by your rhetoric.
Woody Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 I can see why from your perspective that it's rhetoric. But I am simply opposed to ALL racism. We can't just simply stop one side. I am just as opposed to the Black Panther organization as I am the KKK. Your rhetoric puts a stop to the KKK but not to the Black Panthers. That is simply not acceptable to me. And in my humble opinion - it's simply racist promoting to stop one but not the other. We must acknowledge that their is racism on both sides before healing will occur. May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 If this statement is racist: Quote: With this kind of attitude it would indeed show the need for white conferences to protect the whites from black racism. Sad - but true. then this one is racist. Quote: Lastly, in light of the tone of a lot of posters in this thread, it's no wonder Regional conferences still feel the need to maintain their individual presence. This is very sad - and unfortunately not surprising. Racism is simply not on just one side. It is on both sides and both need addressing. To be very honest. With the racist views that I hear from some blacks - I would not want to have to deal with that level of racism in the church. Perhaps with the Regional conferences at least - their racism can be confined. May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators lazarus Posted April 19, 2012 Moderators Posted April 19, 2012 We must acknowledge that their is racism on both sides before healing will occur. There is racism on both sides! Now how would you suggest that we would move the healing process forward? Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. While you may say this now - ANY attempt to of mine to point out that racism is on both sides - are shot down as racism. Just look at CoA's post above. For me - I have to see some good will demonstrated before I see any potential. And from what I am seeing on this thread. There is no potential. Words need to be backed up with meaning. I suspect the personal attacks will continue. But then I could be wrong. At any point some here might be turning over a new leaf. May we be one so that the world may be won. I have never denied that racism exists on both sides. Woody, you have spent most of your posts attacking black people and then denying it. It has been a game for you but I think you're running out of plays. Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Woody Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Wow. That was short lived. I do believe I am a prophet. May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Woody - returns to his previous mode of trying to point out that racism is on both sides. And he will continue it till the other side is able to stop attacking when shown that it IS on both sides. May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

CoAspen Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Woody, you're not addressing my questions, why?? I am trying to understand where you are coming from, but you avoid answering questions that might give the reader better understanding. I simply don't understand how you are against racism, given your continued remarks that have a long history of being white propaganda still being promoted by known white racist organizations. Have you always felt this way or is it something you have picked up lately?
Kountzer Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I live in a small gated community, believe it or not. The houses are relatively new, albeit modest. One of my neighbors is a semi famous rapper named Devin the Dude. Look him up on google. His music doesn't suit me, but whatever floats your boat. Three white families moved in recently. Before the ethnic makeup was mostly hispanic and black. Mostly hispanics. Two of the new families have big menacing rottweilers. I wouldn't doubt it if they have hand guns and CHLs. They mind their bidness, and I mind mine. Maybe I will break the ice someday. I mostly go to work, come home. I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Liz Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Kountzer, you bring up an interesting point. Used to be that when someone moved into a new neighborhood, they were greeted with baked goods and would meet everyone on the street within the first week. Now, I've lived in the same house for 15 years and only know one neighbors name. That's a shame, we really should get back to knowing each other. Anecdotal story ahead feel free to skip: When I was five we moved into a new neighborhood, and I remember unloading the moving van and the neighbors would drop by one at a time with freshly baked bread, chicken or something, dessert so that by the end of the moving day, we had a meal ready to eat courtesy of the neighbors. One set of neighbors was an elderly couple, when the man saw me he invited me over to play dolls with him. Apparantly, I wasn't "helping" as much as I thought I was. And so my parents allowed me to go off with this perfect stranger to play. And guess what happened? We played dolls and some other games, and this couple turned into another set of grandparents. No way in h e double hockey sticks would that be allowed in today's society. For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? LegalEagle Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Woody, I am a lawyer in Florida so I probably know more about the law and the facts of this matter than I originally let on but that's not important. The investigation was shoddy. Anyone that watches Law & Order knows that you get the phone records to see if there was any evidence that good be uncovered from the statement of the person that Martin may have been talking too. Failure to do this was shoddy. If you have any other explanation I'd be glad to do it. As for racism, I don't believe that Zimmerman is racist. I do believe that he may have been hypersensitive to some unfortunate stereotypes due to recent break-ins in his neighborhood. His best course would have been to call the cops and at most, follow in his car from a distance. Lastly, I can regale you with stories about very explicit and implicit racism I've encountered as a Black man both at SDA churches (unfortunately and the most hurtful) and in the world. You have been asked for your experiences of being a victim of racism by a black person but you have ignored that request. Everyone knows that racism exists on both sides. (A comedian said that the most racist man you'll ever meet is a black man who lived through Jim Crow in the South.) I don't think you'll find a person who will disagree with that in this post. So, if that is your calling, congrats! You've succeeded.

I mostly go to work, come home. Maybe you should approach these three white families, welcome them to the neighborhood, introduce yourself and bring a plate of cookies or whatever. Maybe ask the owners to introduce you to those "menacing Rottweilers" ,learn their names, ask permission to approach them, and ask if you could give them a treat. If the dogs are outside when you pass by,talk to them in a friendly manner using their name.More than likely they will stop being so menacing to you. Rotts are highly intelligent dogs Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame.
