BobRyan Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Veith referred disparagingly to the yellow star worn by Jews during the Holocaust as a 'little yellow piece of cloth'. Did you expect him to glorify it as though they were being forced to wear "a wonderful yellow badge of honor"?? How far are we supposed to stretch the implications for "little yellow piece of cloth" when doing our thought-police work? BobRyan Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 someone saith something to the effect Veith was not a hardline pro lifer. I believe there is room for more then one view on this, without casting judgement on someone's theology. I don't know his exact position on that - but somehow I doubt that the German conference administrators are taking the moral high ground and insisting on strict pro-life teaching. So I don't think this particular view has any impact on their opinions of Dr. Veith. in Christ, Bob Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." BobRyan Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 there is a disagreement on the interpretation of exodus 21:22 and 23, that dates back to when the catholic church retranslated the old testament. Members phkrause Posted December 23, 2012 Members Posted December 23, 2012 dedjm, you make some interesting comments about Jewish thought of abortion. So I looked into it and this is what I found: 1- Abortions in Jewish law http://www.aish.com/ci/sam/48954946.html 2-What do Orthodox Jews Think About Abortion and Why? http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_p...on_and_why.html 3-What is the Conservative Judaism perspective on abortion? http://judaism.about.com/od/conservativejudaismfaq/f/cons_abortion.htm 4-Judaism and abortion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaism_and_abortion These are very interesting Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Nic Samojluk Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 The idea that God pays no attention to the actions of the little horn in the past - and asks us to pay no attention to what He says will be the actions they take in the future - is also pure fiction. There is a difference between paying attention to the past and to what has been predicted about the future, and your apparent suggestion that we need to ignore the present behavior of Rome. The story of Jonah should be a warning to us. The prediction was crystal clear: The city was going to be destroyed in 40 days. The prediction concerning the future of Baby Jesus was also crystal clear. The angel predicted that Jesus would sit on his father David's throne forever. We can add a long list of prophecies concerning the glorious future of God's chosen nation in the Old Testament. They were never fulfilled, and the Lord rejected Israel. Ellen White predicted a glorious future for his Remnant--the Adventist movement. We like these predictions and prefer to ignore the warning she had for us stating for example that we were on the verge of becoming a "sister to Babylon." So tell me, please: Which prediction regarding the future of the Adventist Church will take place? We tend to be very generous when we talk about our church's future, but not so generous when we deal with Rome. Shall I add what the Lord said about Laodicea? Quote

Daryl Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I heard that ASI in that area is not happy with Veith being banned from speaking there. Has anybody else heard anything about this?
