Robert Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 Jesus didn't call for help(911)...what you are telling others then under no circumstances would you call 911 if time allowed when you were threatened. You would stand quietly and accept whatever someone wanted to do to you.... If you knew your Bible you would realize that many times Christ got out of bad situations. He didn't stand by, neither did He retaliate. He never used violence to escape. That's the point. So yes, escape if you can, but if your time as come so be it. Instead your faith is in your weapons.....Your weapons will let you down. Quote

Robert Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 My faith is in God, That does not mean I believe that I must not do anything to save my life if threatened by some wacko that wants to take it because he can if I do not respond. Did these do something to save their lives? Heb 11:35...Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, while still others were chained and put in prison. 37 They were stoned; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated-- 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground. Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Quote

bonnie Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 AGAIN ROBERT,can you put your money where your mouth is. 1.If you were a witness to a capital crime especially that of a "young innocent child",would you come forward and testify.Knowing your testimony would cause "retaliation" against the guilty? Possibly life in prison or the death penalty. Last year a man walked in and found his"friend" molesting his very young daughter. In the struggle to save his daughter the molester was killed. With what you claim... 2.Would you have said please don't do that and let a child molester go on to destroy other young children, believing it was just their appointed time? 3.Would you have stopped him, called police, testified against him, knowing the position you would place him in?It is well known what happens to child molesters in prison. You would be responsible for that retaliation. On a personal level, where your professed beliefs really count.... 4.If you had to use physical force to save your wife from attack, would you do so,or say Please, and if that didn't work, tell your wife,Sorry honey,it is your appointed time to be raped and killed. For what you claim is God's demands for others there shouldn't be a problem in the giving of direct answers to direct questions. You can't duck these questions by claiming "you don't have to,you are not under the law".They all deal with the greatest commandments, the ones you claim are the only ones that apply today Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. Robert Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 Bonnie, go shoot something. You sound frustrated. Quote
bonnie Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Barnes' Notes on Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess - The word here rendered "confess" ὁμολογέω homologeō is often rendered "profess"; Matthew 7:23, "Then will I profess to them, I never knew you;" Titus 1:16; Titus 3:14; Romans 1:22; 1 Timothy 2:10; 1 Timothy 6:12-13, 1 Timothy 6:21; Hebrews 3:1, Thus, confession or profession expresses our "agreement or concord with what God holds to be true, and what he declares to be true." It denotes a public declaration or assent to that, here expressed by the words "with thy mouth." With thy mouth - To profess a thing with the mouth is to speak of it; to declare it; to do it openly and publicly. Shalt believe in thy heart - Shalt sincerely and truly believe this, so that the external profession shall correspond with the real, internal feelings. Where this is not the case, it would be hypocrisy; where this is the case, there would be the highest sincerity, and this religion requires. Does your external profession correspond with the REAL INTERNAL FEELINGS. Should be fairly easy for you to answer as this comes under the part of the law that applies to you as well,Doesn't it? bonnie Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I'm not interested in your rhetoric. Tsk Tsk Robert. You do know I am sure that there are religious sects and true pacifists that actually believe what they profess. Not just with their mouth for others. They will respond to direct questions concerning the faith they profess with their mouth. Not only that but will actually do what they profess and claim God's demand is for others. Your "righteous rhetoric" would be a little more believable if you actually believed as they do Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Gibs Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Cars kill more innocent people than guns, outlaw them too huh? I'll just ride my bike and the outlaw can't get away so fast either if you have all them cars crushed up in bales. Then if outlaw comes on his bike, just ice pick hole in his tires! M. T. Cross Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Robert I have asked you those questions before as well. Its about trying to understand where you are coming from. Its clear your faith is in Christ. You have established that. But please answer these simple questions. If your wife or kids were being hurt, if you saw someone being raped, mugged, beaten etc would you act in their defense or would you just pray and walk away from it? Quote
