Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted January 4, 2013 Administrators Posted January 4, 2013 I NEED ONE FOR GROUNDHOGS !!! Sniper rifle works better on groundhogs. I say that based on the account as told by my father of a hunter (former military sniper) visiting our farm to hunt woodchucks. One shot at just under half a mile, clean heart shot, as targeted, of woodchuck standing up to have a look around. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." Administrators Gail Posted January 4, 2013 Administrators Posted January 4, 2013 Don't you feel sorry for those little guys? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted January 4, 2013 Administrators Posted January 4, 2013 In terms of farm life, its hard to feel too sorry for crop eating pests and makers of hazardous holes for livestock to step in and break a leg. Guest Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Don't you feel sorry for those little guys? I don't like it when anything gets killed. Which is why I don't hunt. I'll be glad when there is no more death. Quote

I thought you hunted Deer? I guess I got that wrong. I apologize for thinking that. No, I don't hunt, because I don't want to kill anything. But I have eaten deer meat that someone else killed. I just don't like killing things, as a rule, but I know you have to eat, and everybody isn't going to be a vegetarian. So.. Actually if you're going to eat meat, you're better off eating something killed in the wild like that, than you are with that processed stuff in the stores, that's raised on steroids, and hormones, and whatnot. I can see where varmints and such have to be killed off sometimes also. They kill coyotes around here, whenever they can. We haven't had coyotes all that long. (No, the varmints don't kill the coyotes, the people here do.) :) Quote

Thanks for clearly that up. I guess I took whatever you had posted way back when, and thought that you did hunt, but now that you've cleared it up, I do remember you just saying that you ate deer meat. I had a friend that I used to work with that did hunt deer and every once in a while he'd bring some in and I'd take some home. It tasted really good. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted January 4, 2013 Administrators Posted January 4, 2013 Continuing on with the eat what you kill topic and connecting it to what I started, We also had a neighbor family that hunted woodchucks on our farm and took them home for food. OzarkWoman Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 It is no business of yours or anyones why someone might want a true assault rifle. Most rifles that are called assault ones are not. Quote

I guess it's no worse than eating a rabbit or something. I know plenty of people who eat rabbit. Unclean meat, is unclean meat, as far as I'm concerned. Quote
OzarkWoman Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Well, one will not get into Heaven because of what they do or don't eat. PERIOD!!! I have eaten a lot of different foods, including Oppossum and rattlesnake. Quote

I have eaten a lot of different foods, including Oppossum and rattlesnake. Okay, but what you do or don't do (eat) can keep you out of Heaven. Man looks on the outside, God looks on the heart! The longer you walk with God, the closer you will become like him in all aspects of your life. I am not where I want to be, I have a lot to learn and apply in my daily life, but I am also not like I used to be. That doesn't mean I wasn't in a saving relationship before with God, it just means that I have become a better person since that time. And I am ALL for that. Quote

Eating by the OT standards does not make you a better person. I disagree with you and even my pastor agrees that what anyone eats or doesn't eat is not going to keep anyone in or out of Heaven. legalism is BS no matter who uses it. BTW, It isn't only my pastor that believes what I said, but many others I have spoken to in my area. I will take what they say over you or other legalists who like to pick and choose their scriptures to follow. Quote

Since the 2nd Ammendment allows them then it is none of your business. Seems funny that so many in this country like to stick their noses into everyone's business. It has helped with the downfall of this country. Comparing gun deaths with other ways of killing, they are smaller percentage. Quote

I never said that. I see that you are one of those people who like to put things out there that people did not say. All I said is that it is none of your business who owns what or not. If you believe it is your business then you are no better than an o,ld biddy who puts herself into everyone's business. But, it does take all kinds in our country, thankfully. Of course I believe in the constitution. Quote

Comparing gun deaths with other ways of killing, they are smaller percentage. You must have misunderstood what I meant, we are on the same team as far as I can tell. I was only saying that when the topic comes up, that we are responsible for reminding them of the 2nd amendment. Reminding them, if you will of the rights we have a citizens of the United States. Educating if you will. Nothing wrong with dialog. Using words ya know? We don't live on an island, we are responsible for each other and to each other. Our country did not become great by turning our backs on each other, but by working together. That is how it should be. Quote
GoLions Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I never said that. True enough. I made a giant leap bypassing your words. Sorry. I do take issue with you calling me a legalistic bum,(ok, maybe not your exact words again but)I do not believe that I can do ANYTHING that will grant me admission to the marriage supper of the lamb. Jesus has indeed paid it all, it is by the Grace of God, through Faith, only, that I will be saved. End of sentence, period, explanation point. No but, and, or if added to it. Quote
