Hi Life,

I like the way that was written and the message. With that statement are you stating a view that you support? I didn't catch it if you did. Please let me know what you think about what Robert and I are discussing. I'm interested in what you have to post.

Norman

Yes, I am supporting that statement. However I try not to make my commentary any more involved than I can understand myself, so it could probably be honed better to fit other's experiences.

It's late now so I'm not going to take the time now to run over each point that you and Robert have been discussing, though I have been reading each post. Well, to be honest, I do kind of peruse the longer post, so maybe couldn't talk too intelligently about some. Sorry tomato.gif

There was one point that I recall that sticks in my mind, that no longer bothers me as much as it once did, the one about being deceived. I could never accept the notion that our Father in heaven would ever allow His children be lost because they weren't intelligent enough to know all points of faith clearly.

[:"red"] "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible , they shall deceive the very elect." [/] Matthew 24:24 KJV

The bold seems to me a key to the kingdom.

[:"red"] "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." [/] 1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

[:"red"] "For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment" [/] James 2:13 NASB

[:"red"] "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name" [/] Ezekiel 39:25 KJV

How much truth of a matter does Jesus expect us to uphold? To what degree of lies and deceit is reasonable and acceptable to a Christian lifestyle?

Remember the person who lied to protect the two spies at Jericho. Rahab the prostitute. She was rewarded by becoming one of the few woman named as Jesus Ancestors.

Would it be within reason to believe that Rahab was rewarded according to her good intent,in spite of her lack, as opposed to her being rewarded for her lying? Does not our Father give us the promises of the kingdom based upon His unmerited favor, not because of our good works?

[:"red"] "God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." [/] Eph 2:8-10 NLT
