The entire concept of time prior to the existence of the universe makes no sense. In that way, the Being who became Jesus existed before time began. But the fact remains that He proceedeth forth from the Father which strongly implies that the Father pre-existed Him. Nonetheless, the Being that became Jesus was composed of the same "God stuff" that the Father was made of - He was NOT a created being. The being who became Jesus was the Creator. The Son of God existed as "the express image" of the Father, before He incarnated. An "express image" is an EXACT COPY. It's a copy of THE original. Why call Him "the Son" if He was not - in fact - the Son. Quote 8thdaypriest

Before God created angels, he had to create a place for them to exist (the universe or something like it [hyperspace?]; hence, time was in existence before the angels were created. Just my opinion. Angels are not eternal so they are also bound by time even before creation. The same rule applies to Jesus. Jesus could not have been created before time. That is an impossibility. Where does it say that God "created time"? It says the sun, moon, and stars were for signs in the heavens to MARK time. The Septuagint translates Proverbs 8:22, "The LORD made me the beginning of His ways, for His works". Proverbs 8 says the One who "was brought forth" (or begotten) "was the beginning". It reminds me of John 1, "In the beginning was the Word". It seems that the "begetting" of the anointed one, WAS "the beginning". Perhaps that marked the beginning of "time". Before this, there was just God the Father, and He never changed and was always the same. Verse 23 in the KJV says "I have been established (meaning "anointed") from everlasting, from the beginning, before there was ever an earth." "FROM everlasting" - "FROM the beginning" - BEFORE earth was created. We use the term "everlasting" to describe God's existence BEFORE anything was created. The Son of God was "anointed" FROM the beginning. He was also "anointed" FROM everlasting. I believe the Son of God was begotten and anointed at the POINT separating eternity from "the beginning." The term "beginning" denotes the START of something. Is it not the START of the family of God - the START of the creation. God the Father beget another Being in His exact image. A copy of Himself. That being - His offspring - His Son, then became the AGENT of His Father in creating, in mediation, (He was mediator for angels BEFORE becoming mediator for mankind), and in redemption/reconciliation. Why MUST the Son ALWAYS have existed???? That would mean He was NOT God's "son" until He incarnated. And even then, who's "son" was He? The Bible says He was "the Son of the Father" - no mention of the Holy Spirit being His Father, even though He was "begotten" by the action of the Spirit. rudywoofs (Pam) 1 Quote 8thdaypriest

Both verses are suspect. Most scholars agree that 1John 5:7 was added to the text by the Catholic church - eager to prove a Trinity. Recent scholarship has made a strong case for the baptismal formula also being altered. It is suspect that every manuscript up through Constantine, has the last page torn out. One Aramaic manuscript survived intact. In that manuscript, Jesus says, "baptizing them in My name." Jesus own disciples went about baptizing "in the name of Jesus Christ". There are SIX examples of this. There is NOT ONE example of a disciple baptizing in the name of Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Besides the Holy Spirit does not have a name. The Son is Jesus, and the Father is Yahweh - the One True God (See John Cpt 17). There only suspect that's all, so the possibility is they could just as well be true!! Has the RCC actually confessed to changing scripture, because they have no problem telling all that they changed scripture!! Just a thought. She greeted him and let him read the disputed quotes in her own handwriting. She claimed that she did write them. Denied that others changed them and convinced Elder Andresen to become a Trinitarian too. He came to visit her believing like you did and left the visit a committed Trinitarian. Did Mrs. White lie to him? Are you correcting her mistake with Elder Andresen? This is not true at all! First your date is wrong it was 1909 and this is what he said: "Consequently, in due time I arrived in St. Helena and was cordially received by Mrs. White. I stated my reason for coming, which was to obtain permission to examine her writings in manuscript before anyone had done any editorial work on them. I had brought with me many quotations from her writings that were of outstanding interest, either for their theological import or their beauty of expression. "In my own mind, I was convinced that Sister White had never written them as they appeared in print. She might have written something like them, but I was sure that no one with the limited education Sister White had could ever produce such exquisitely worded statements or such pronouncements on difficult theological problems. They must have been produced by a well-trained individual, conversant not only with theological niceties but also with beautiful English. . . In THE MESSIAH is life, original, unborrowed, underived. This statement at that time was revolutionary and compelled a complete revision of my former view, and that of the denomination, on the deity of THE MESSIAH. . . "In writing this, I am not attempting to prove anything. I am merely giving my testimony of that which I know. And that testimony is clear and unequivocal. I believe that the writings of Sister White are true messages of ELOHIM for this church and that no one can ignore and disobey them except at great, infinitely great, loss."Without Fear or Favor, pp. 74-78 (I replace the false names to only the SACRED NAMES and that to respect ELOHIM and not man.) He only agree that YAHSHUA was DIVINE as HIS FATHER. It is important to give references to prove the facts. EGW books have been tamper with after her death. The Adventist Church was not to take over her estate and now they have. There is not one of the charges that are leveled against the Spirit of Prophecy that cannot be leveled also against the Bible. In fact, when Walter Rea spoke before a large congregation of Adventists in the Walla Walla area, after completing his message of attack against the Spirit of Prophecy, he started to sit down. Then he went back to the microphone and said, "Now don't you do to the Bible what I have just done to Ellen White's writings!" He was quite aware that every charge he had leveled against the Spirit of Prophecy could also be made convincingly against the Bible. Why do ELOHIM's people listen to those who are trying to tear down their faith in the Word of ELOHIM? Ellen White said: " I saw that ELOHIM had especially guarded the Bible, yet learned men, when the copies were few, had changed the words in some instances, thinking that they were making it more plain, when they were mystifying that which was plain, in causing it to lean to their established. Views, governed by tradition. But I saw that the word of ELOHIM, as a whole, is a perfect chain, one portion of scripture explaining another. True seekers for truth need not err for not only is the word of ELOHIM plain and simple in declaring the way to life, but the Holy Spirit is given to guide in understanding the way of life revealed in his Word." 1SG 117 This is illustrated by the fact that they have added footnotes and headings, etc.. Have you noticed that the footnotes and headings sometime contradict the text? If men add things, you can tell! If they had dared to change the text, you would also be able to tell. There would be contradictions. Did Someone Change EGW's Writings? By Jeannie McReynolds Sister White realize that they did not understand everything and just before the coming of THE MESSIAH that all truth would be revealed. She also warned the ministers in Testimony to the Ministers p. 105-117 concerning allowing truth to shine forth against error. She made it clear that certain things would be relinquished as THE HOLY SPIRIT lead those who seek ELOHIM with all their hearts, soul and mind. These are the wise five virgins that YAHSHUA spoke about who will wake and heed the call to finish the work. Not once did she ever believe in the Trinity but again they kept the false belief that ELOHIM were persons and THEY were not! That came from the Greek gods who acted like humans but even the Chaldeans knew about the true SUPREME BEINGS. YAHWEH kept the scholars from changing the facts even if they used the false pagan word god but they used it in the plural form. And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods (Aramaic ELAHH or Hebrew ELOHIM both are plural words), whose dwelling is not with flesh. Dan 2:11 Then Nebuchadnezzar himself realize who YAHSHUA was in the fiery furnace before accepting THE THREE ELOHIM! So we will be very clear the KJV change the word to God singular. But the original text by the JPS version stated this: He answered and said: 'Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods (Aramaic ELAHH or Hebrew ELOHIM both are plural words).' Then listen to Nebuchadnezzar after his conversion: It seemed good before me to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High Elyon Elah has done with me. Then the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the stargazing ones came in. And I told the dream before them, but they did not make its meaning known to me. But at last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom the spirit the holy gods the holy elahim. And I told the dream before him, saying, O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit the holy gods elahim is in you, and no secret baffles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its meaning. This matter is by the decree of the guarding cherubs, and the Command by the Word of the holy ones, so that the living may know that the Most High Elyon rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He will. And He sets up over it the lowest of men. I, Nebuchadnezzar, have seen this dream. Now you, O Belteshazzar, declare its meaning, since all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to reveal the meaning to me. But you are able, for the spirit of the holy gods elahim is in you. And as the king saw a guarding Cherub and a holy one coming down from the Heavens, and saying, Cut the tree down, and destroy it. Yet leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and bronze, in the grass of the field. And let him be wet with the dew of the heavens, and his lot be with the beasts of the field, until seven times pass over him. This is the meaning, O king, and this the decree of the Most High Elyon , which has come on my master the king: And you shall be driven from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. And you shall be fed with grass like oxen. And you shall be wet with dew of the heavens; and seven years (cycles) shall pass over you until you know that the Most High Elyon is Ruler in the kingdom of men, and He gives it to whomever He desires. The word was still in the king's mouth when a voice fell from the heavens, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: The kingdom has been taken from you! And you shall be driven from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. You shall be fed with the grass like oxen, and seven times shall pass over you until you know that the Most High ruleth Elyon in the kingdom of men, and that He gives it to whomever He desires. And at the end of the days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to the heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the most High Elyon. And I praised and honored Him who lives forever, whose Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and His rule from generation to generation. Dan 4:2, 7-9,17, 18, 23-25, 31, 32, 34 Exegesis Ready Research Bible of the KJV You see Kevin here is the problem with the word god which is a pagan title. So when you look up the true plural and singular titles you will see that ELYON ELAH here is referring to THE FATHER but he also recognizes THE FATHER'S SON. The writers of the KJV did exactly what EGW said that words had been changed. If they had left these titles a long then we all would know that we were made in THEIR IMAGE and there are THREE INDIVIDUAL BEINGS and not person that mean human beings. The pioneer did not understand it all but they including EGW did not believe in the trinity. She came to realize as they all did that YAHSHUA existed as Rev 1:8 indicates. She was not THE SPIRIT of PROPHECY, YAHSHUA is. Rev 19:10. EGW was given visions as the Bible again indicated in Act 2:16, 17 but what she was given an understanding of Revelation which is THE TESTIMONY of YAHSHUA, THE SPIRIT of PROPHECY. None of us can add or take away from this Book or we will be lost! So if you try to add the trinity or to think that EGW or the pioneers believed the views of the Jesuit priest known as Arianism then again it is false. This belief was also Catholic but Satan wanted the world to believe in him. So he had us to except a pagan title god, which if you traces it back (you state you study history) to the root word which is found in Etymology online Dictionary. There you will see it goes back to Zeus and finally to Satan himself. He want you to invoke him ELOHIM does not, simple. Be bless and have a happy Sabbath! Quote

THEY are not a person which means human beings. Gen 1:26 makes it clear that we were made in THEIR IMAGE and LIKENESS. Here where we as SDA have turn back and join with the Catholic faith. The trinity makes no sense and the Hebrew word "echad" means unity. How come we can understand in Gen 2:24? The problem is that the scholars who translated the Bible and all the various titles some singular and some plural. If you could read them you would know that they showed clearly if THE FATHER or THE SON was speaking INDIVIDUALLY. That is why EGW said words were changed in the Bible. EW p. 220, 221 Sometime I think we want to be like the Catholic faith because we have tried to do away with Investigated Judgment and other things as well. We refuse to keep all of the Statutes which are the Holy Convocation. Clearly YAHWEH state in Lev 23:1, 2 these are HIS Days, no where in the Bible does it state that these Holy Convocation were nailed to the cross! Dan 9:27 state clearly that the oblation and sacrifices were to cease. YAHSHUA kept the Holy Convocation of Unleavened Bread which the passover was a supper and not a day that was according to Ex 12:11; Matt 26:20 Paul said the same thing but you all want to be like the rest of the so call Christians. Paul telling the Colossians not to let the haughty Jews judge them in keeping the Holy Convocation days because they were not circumcised. Col 2:14-17 Just like the Canaanites who knew the truth because ELOHIM came them first, the Indo-Europeans are doing the same thing today! We are worshiping the false word god as did the Hebrews with Baal. You cannot see the truth because you did what ELOHIM warn us not to do and that is to take on the false pagan names. Ex 23:13 So the church has become delusional to believe a lie and one lie, then another one. These lies have brought in the word trinity, the pagan cross that look like T, the false names including calling THE HOLY SPIRIT a ghost which mean the dead is alive but dead, how stupid! Then we try to make EGW a prophetess when she herself said she is not as well as the Bible. We don't keep the Sabbath, many Adventist leave church and go to the all you can eat restaurants. There is nothing wrong with Jewry if it plain and not costly array! But the Bible clearly states to put away our pleasure on the Sabbath. When you go to church today they have on more diamonds, gold and costly array that you can't even focus on the sermons. Speaking of the sermons they are the same on thing but hype up for the blacks to shout and even now some speak in tongues! We have wander away from truth and EGW again through TM p. 112-117 speak that we need to study Daniel and Revelation once we truly understand there we be a reformation in our churches. Wake up Adventist because only the five wise will awaken and finish the work. It will take place during the Time of Trouble and then the beast will come for a short time. He and USA will be destroyed in the Lake of Fire be YAHSHUA is coming back and it is close than any of us truly realizes. Blessings and have a happy Sabbath! Quote

The "second DEATH" is the forever death - the DEATH from which there is no resurrection. Jesus was resurrected - therefore He did NOT die the "second death". The "lake of fire which is the second death". Jesus did NOT die in the "lake of fire". Persons who RESIST the drawing of the Spirit of Christ (knocking at the door), will be raised to face judgment, and then they will DIE AGAIN. RESISTING God is not the second death. It is rebellion, which then RESULTS IN the second death. There is NOTHING in Scripture, saying that "all three members of the trinity" suffered. Jesus was the Son of God the Father. That is stated over, and over, and over. The "one God and Father of all" gave HIS only begotten Son. So - Jesus is either the SON of God the Father, or He is one of a co-eternal Trio, and NOT really a son at all. He's a make-believe "son". JoeMo 1 Quote 8thdaypriest
Moderators Kevin H Posted February 22, 2016 Moderators Posted February 22, 2016 I am trying to answer in a way that does not sound condescending or anything like that. I think the best I can say is that we have two very different understandings of the Great Controversy, the atonement, the judgment, hell fire, and the beauty of Jesus. You can find some excellent studies on this in the book Sanctuary and the Atonement by the Biblical Research Committee of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. While there are many excellent chapters on this topic, sadly the 3 best were only published in the very first printing which was unabridged. The reprints were only of more "traditional" views. However if you can get a hold of the original (it has a yellowish/cream and black cover) the 3 chapters are "The Mighty Opposites: The Atonement in the writings of Ellen G. White" parts 1 and 2 and "We Must All Appear: The Investigative Judgment in the writings of Ellen G. White." While most of the book is really good those 3 chapters are outstanding and give a strong Biblical and Mrs. White arguments that it was all 3 members of the trinity who bore our sins. Some other works for study include works by Lynn Harper Wood, Paul Heubach, A. Graham Maxwell, Dick Winn's "Adventism's distinctive message" from American Cassettes ministry (I think they updated their name). Ellen White's book "Confrontation" and her chapters "Why was sin permitted" "the Origin of Evil" (One in Patriarchs and Prophets, the other Great Controversy). And Desire of Ages "Gethsemane" "It is Finished' and other chapters around the passion of Christ. These are harder to find but are out there but the "Last Day Events" seminar from the 1976 Southern New England Campmeeting, and the Walter Rea-John Wood debate from South Lancaster MA, New England Adventist Forum. Also if you can read a few of my posts here discussing hell fire. Jesus told Nicodemus that the only reason why people are lost is because they are afraid to come to the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. In other words, they are afraid that God is going to get them for their sins. Jesus is the one who is all together lovely. The one who is sweeter than honey and more desirable than gold. The desire of all nations, the desire of ages, the one beloved of women (a forgotten name of Jesus). The lake of fire is being surrounded by his love, beauty and glory. It was the lake of fire that Moses saw on the bush, it was the lake of fire on top of Mt. Sinai and was the pillar by fire that lead the children of Israel at night. Moses was not allowed to see the full lake of fire, only part of it because at that time it would have killed him. It was the lake of fire that reflected off of Moses so that he needed to wear a veil. It was a coal from the lake of fire that touched the lips of Isaiah. Prophets seeing God in vision felt like they were being burned alive but came to discover that they could not only survive but that they could thrive in the lake of fire and hated not to be in it. It was the lake of fire that flashed through Jesus that caused the money changers and priests to run from the temple and the poor and little children to run to him. Isaiah 33 says that it is the righteous who are able to live in the eternal fire. I'm sorry but our basic Bible studies and evangelistic meetings are WRONG when they say that forever only means until that fire burns out. The fire is the love, beauty and glory of God. The fire goes out when God no longer has any love, beauty or glory. Now God's love is not a sticky sweet sentimentalism. It is a power that changes us. Jesus continues with Nicodemus that those who do come to the light find, not a condemning God but that their changed into the works of God. God's love demands the best from us. For those who do not want the best in them to be developed they can find this experience quite uncomfortable. In fact you could call that experience "hell" God is our deepest desire, the fairest of ten-thousand, the one more desirable than gold and sweeter than honey, the desire of all nations, the desire of ages, the one beloved of women (an over looked name of Jesus). This is the lake of fire. For the saved it is heaven to be in this situation thus Isaiah can say that the righteous are able to live forever in the eternal fire. This is the same experience that the lost go through. But for the lost they are highly uncomfortable that this beauty demands the best from them and they have been cultivating their worst. God's beauty is overwhelming and they long to come to him. But they contrast their sinfulness to God's purity and are horrified by the contrast. (the saved respond to this situation by casting our crowns and singing "Worthy is the Lamb") They are unforgiving people thus they cannot comprehend God's forgiveness. As Jesus said they are afraid to come to the light for fear their deeds will be exposed. They want to come but they also want to pull back and hide so their deeds are not exposed. They see loved ones around the throne who they long to be with, but they also remember how they would manipulate their loved ones to do what they wanted them to do, and they also see others around the throne who they have been very mean towards. And they reline that they would still be manipulative and mean, but can't because the one on the throne knows the deepest darkest recesses of their mind and heart. Thus they want to pull away and hide, but on the other hand God is so incredibly beautiful and they long to yield to his irresistible grace; they cannot exist resisting his grace. They oh so long to run into the loving arms of Jesus, but they have destroyed their willpower and are slaves to their feelings of fear. They want to come but refuse to come. They compromise in bowing and saying that Jesus is Lord, but refuse to go any further. This conflict of wanting to run into his loving arms, but their fear, distrust and horror at their sinfulness holding them back, they want to come but won't. This is what the hell of fire and second death is. The drawing power of God's love, and that love demanding their best and God does everything short of forcing their will, and their resistance to this is horrible and quite literally rips them apart and kills them. This is so horrible that if God were to put on them some kind of physical punishment such as some other kind of fire they would be so impressed with the beauty of God and so long to be with it but refusing to come that they would scarcely notice the physical fire around them. This is the lake of fire and the second death. This is the same thing that Jesus went through in the wilderness temptations, Gethsemane and the cross. The members of the trinity longed to be with each other but they refused to because they know that if they did not allow our sins to separate them from each other, that sin will separate us from them. While the lost refuse to come to their loving God because they are holding on to their sin and are afraid that God is going to get them for their sin, Jesus refused to come out of his love for us. This was so painful to Jesus that he barely felt the physical torcher of the beatings, flogging and horrors of the cross. He could barely feel the cross because he was suffering in the lake of fire, the longing to be with his loving Father. The second death is the pain of being separated from the one we so long to be with, our loving God. This is what killed Jesus. Jesus could have died from it in the garden and that would have met the atoning death, but the cross gave both a public death and showed that the horror of the second death is so intense that the pain inflected by the cross paled in comparison. God is greater than the second death. The only reason why the wicked don't come back from the second death is because they have created themselves into something that refuses to yield to God's love and God cannot force the will. thus they stay dead. Jesus died from what will kill the sinners at the end, the longing to be with God but refusing to yield to this desire. Jesus was willing to refuse even if it meant that he would be eternally separated from his father. This resulted in death. But God is stronger than the second death. If any of the wicked were to yield to their desire to be with God they would come back from the second death. The problem is that they won't and therefore it is eternal. Jesus' willingness to be at one with his father was greater than the second death and thus it could not hold him. I hope this helps, and please look up the resources I've recommended, especially try to find those 3 chapters from the original sanctuary and the atonement. Quote
JoeMo Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Kevin, That was quite an eloquent thesis you have presented above. Your logic is sound; and your references well documented. I will also try to say this without sounding condescending. Your logic is human logic; and your references are all human beings; and I can't see where scripture supports your or their hypotheses as they relate to the HS. The way I read it, scripture refers to two divine beings - the Father and the Son. Nowhere that I can recall is there an example of and entity called the Holy Spirit interacting with a human (unless you want to call the dove appearing at Jesus' baptism without saying anything an interaction, or the Spirit "leading people" an interaction); nor is there any example of a person worshipping or praying to the Holy Spirit or a command to do so. 8thdaypriest 1 Quote
Green Cochoa Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 16 hours ago, 8thdaypriest said: Kevin, Your post makes no sense to me. The second death is only eternal for sinners. Christ had not sinned, therefore was resurrected. The "second death" comes about via a separation from the Father (God) which causes such agony of soul that it results in death. Jesus died, not of the nails, thorns, nor cross, but of the broken heart from sensing the separating from His Father. Sinners who die the first death do not feel this soul-agony. That is the judgment/second death. And Christ was judged in our place as if He had committed our sins--He bore our sins for us. Because He was perfect, and had not sinned, He broke the barrier of the tomb, not only for Himself, but also for all who should accept Him via saving faith. As for His sonship, Jesus was not a literal son until the fullness of time had come. Prior to that, He was only a son by promise--having committed Himself to the plan before the creation of the world. Because He who knows the end from the beginning knew what would come to pass, He could legitimately refer to Himself as God's "son" from eternity, for it had always been part of the plan. According to John 3:16, Jesus is the only One of God to have become a Son, as I understand that verse. Numbers 23:19 tells us that Jesus was not yet a son at that point. Nevertheless, the Bible speaks of His sonship even before He had been begotten, for He had already been begotten by promise. Blessings, Green Cochoa. phkrause 1 Quote
Green Cochoa Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Biblical evidence for the personhood of the Holy Spirit exists as noted below. THE SPIRIT SPEAKS: The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. (2 Samuel 23:2, KJV) And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them. (Ezekiel 11:5, KJV) While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. (Acts 10:19, KJV) Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. (Acts 8:29, KJV) As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. (Acts 13:2, KJV) Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (1 Timothy 4:1, KJV)THE SPIRIT MOVES: And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:2, KJV)THE SPIRIT COMES: And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands. (Judges 15:14, KJV) And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly. (1 Samuel 11:6, KJV)THE SPIRIT ENTERS: And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me. (Ezekiel 2:2, KJV) Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house. (Ezekiel 3:24, KJV)THE SPIRIT DEPARTS: But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. (1 Samuel 16:14, KJV)THE SPIRIT DESCENDS: And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: (Mark 1:10, KJV)THE SPIRIT LIFTS/TAKES UP: Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place. (Ezekiel 3:12, KJV) So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me. (Ezekiel 3:14, KJV) And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy. (Ezekiel 8:3, KJV) So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19, KJV) And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. (Acts 8:39, KJV)THE SPIRIT LEADS: Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. (Matthew 4:1, KJV)THE SPIRIT BLOWS: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. (Isaiah 40:7, KJV)THE SPIRIT CAN PRESENT A BODILY FORM (VISIBLE): And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: (Matthew 3:16, KJV) And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. (Luke 3:22, KJV)THE SPIRIT IS MANIFESTED: But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. (1 Corinthians 12:7, KJV)THE SPIRIT FATHERED JESUS: Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 1:18, KJV) But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 1:20, KJV)THE SPIRIT REVEALS: And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. (Luke 2:26, KJV)THE SPIRIT INTERCEDES*: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (Romans 8:26, KJV)THE SPIRIT SEARCHES: And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 8:27, KJV)THE SPIRIT FORBIDS: Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, (Acts 16:6, KJV) After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. (Acts 16:7, KJV)THE SPIRIT WITNESSES: Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. (Acts 20:23, KJV) This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. (1 John 5:6, KJV)THE SPIRIT HAS INTELLIGENT THOUGHT: Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? (Isaiah 40:13, KJV) For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; (Acts 15:28, KJV)THE SPIRIT CAN BE VEXED: But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. (Isaiah 63:10, KJV)THE SPIRIT CAN BE GIVEN: If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (Luke 11:13, KJV)THE SPIRIT CAN BE TAKEN AWAY: Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. (Psalms 51:11, KJV)DEVILS CAST OUT BY THE SPIRIT: But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. (Matthew 12:28, KJV)THE SPIRIT ONE OF THREE PERSONS (REFERENCES WITH ALL THREE): The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14, KJV) That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (Ephesians 1:17, KJV) The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me; because the LORD hath anointed Me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Isaiah 61:1, KJV) [CAPITALIZATION OF "me" ADDED FOR CLARITY.] For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (1 John 5:7, KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (Matthew 28:19, KJV) For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. (Mark 12:36, KJV)BELIEF IN SPIRIT SEPARATE FROM BELIEF IN GOD: He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. (Acts 19:2, KJV) * NOTE: When the Spirit "intercedes" for us, why does the Spirit need to make intercession? 1) If the Spirit were God Himself, this would be silly for God to intercede to Himself--both redundant, and unnecessary. Remember that Jesus taught the disciples to pray to the Father in Jesus' name. The Spirit is then said to "translate" (intercede with "groanings" which were not expressed in words) those prayers to the Father. 2) If the Spirit were Jesus Himself, how is it that Jesus could father Himself--thus becoming both Father and Son? Therefore, there remains only the possibility that the Spirit is a separate, third Person, and that the Godhead consists of three persons. Considering the Bible has no fewer than six verses which mention all three persons of the Godhead within the verse, this is a very supportable option from Scripture. Blessings, Green Cochoa. Quote

I AGREE that God Himself IS the "everlasting fire". 2 Thessalonians. 2:8-9 When Jesus returns, the wicked will be slain “with brightness of His coming.” Daniel 7:9-10 A “fiery stream” comes forth from the Ancient of Days. Hebrews 12:29 “For our God is a consuming fire.” Deuteronomy 4:24 “For the LORD your God is a consuming fire.” God Himself IS the "everlasting fire". God's glory will NOT "go out". Isaiah 33:14-17 “Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?’ He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly,’” Isaiah 43:2 “. . . when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned.” Revelation 22:4 “They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.” NOTE: We will “see His face” and will not be consumed. The saved will receive immortal spiritual bodies, and will live “in His presence.” This is why “flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God”(1 Cor. 15:50). The angels are spirit beings - beings of high energy. This is why evil angels must be destroyed in “the lake of fire.” It was “prepared for the Devil and his angels” because they could not be destroyed by physical means. Quote 8thdaypriest
8thdaypriest Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 FIRST KILLED - THEN BURNED In the Sanctuary, the Lamb was first killed and then burned on the altar. The lamb symbolized the “Lamb of God” - Jesus the Christ, who died a sinner’s death - cut off from God, so that we may be spared this death. Jesus died - but He was NOT consumed in fire. The sacrifice also symbolized the final end of the wicked. They will DIE and then they will be consumed in fire. David lamented the apparent success of the wicked until he entered the Sanctuary. Then he “understood what would be their end” (Psa. 73:3-17). I do not believe the wicked are physically ALIVE when they are "thrown into the lake of fire". John wrote that he "saw the DEAD standing before God". They're DEAD - physically DEAD, but they are not yet DEAD to God. He must destroy what He has retained of them - their spirits. It's like the download from a computer. At death God downloads all memory from our minds. He uses this to resurrect - after the body of gone. This is why "all live to Him" - because He "remembers" them. Angels - who are spirit energy beings - do not die in the same way that humans die. That is WHY the "lake of fire" was created FOR them. They will be ALIVE when they are "thrown in". This is why they are tormented "unto the age of the ages" (forever and ever). It takes them a long time to DIE. Everything came forth from God. His energy created all things. I believe the special "lake of fire" will be God resorbing the wicked into Himself. Energy cannot be lost. It only changes form. That is a constant law of physics. Yes - I know. God created physical laws, so theoretically He could bypass them. But I think my theory makes more sense. Daniel 12:2-3 says that BOTH wicked and righteous will be resurrected at the Second Coming. The wicked will face judgment, and they will die - consumed by His glory. Why resurrect them AGAIN, to execute them AGAIN? Once wasn't enough??? My belief is that "the rest of the dead" are NOT the wicked who were raised and judged and executed at the Second Coming. I believe they will be all of those who lived and died in ignorance of God and His Son. They will be raised to learn of HIM, and then make their CHOICE. Those who refuse will rebel and that will be the Gog/Magog Battle. Those people will then DIE physically, and later they will die spiritually with all of the wicked, in the special "lake of fire". (Mark 12:36, KJV) Great expose; however, a at least one verse you quote does not appear in the original languages; but was added by translators. For example, the literal translation of 1John 5:7-8 is " For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. " The translation "the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost appears nowhere in scripture until after the 14th century. Several other verses refer to "the Spirit of the Lord" or "the Spirit of Christ" or just plain "the spirit". These do not necessarily equate to a 3rd independent and autonomous person or entity. 8thdaypriest 1 Quote

Look at the messages to the seven churches. Each message IS CHRIST speaking. "These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life:" (Rev. 2:8) If you say that another Being - the Spirit - acts like a radio wave to conduct Christ's message to mankind on the earth - you just inserted another "mediator" (go between). Ephesians 4:6 “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” The FATHER is God of all, above all, through all, and in all. How is The Father “in” you? Answer: Through His Son. God the Father gave His Spirit "without measure" to His Son, enabling His Son to pour out His Spirit upon His disciples. There is no NEED for a third divine Being. Jesus baptizes with the Spirit. He pours Himself, into your heart. JoeMo 1 Quote 8thdaypriest
