D_Bishop Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I had forgotten Mike Brown's name until it was brought up-again, on this thread. There's a lot more that could be said but i feel it is a waste of time. Quote
D_Bishop Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Where do you think I'm from? Who do you think make up the vast majority of my church? Who do you think most of my friends are. LOL Most immigrant condemn the riots but are not where you are. Most African Americans condemn the violence but don't take a white persons perspective. Do you think Koreans, Indians etc don't riot? Check the news. Riots, race riots are a part of american history. Up until 1960 it was whites directly causing all the problems. Perhaps their role is more clandestine or hidden now. There were several race riots in Chicago in 1919 or 1920s and onwards. Two or three such riots in Cincinnati. Anti draft riots by irish immigrants and others during the civil war. There was a race riot in Beaumont Texas, near where I grew up. I had relatives tell me about that one.The profitable black section of Tulsa Ok was air bombed, because whites did not like the prosperity of the blacks. That page in history has been hushed up. America has a violent an bloody history. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Besides, as I believe and have mentioned, this world is not going to be here for long. Even if the social problems of the inner city were magically solved, there would still be myriads of unsolvable problems, in finance, in the environment, in politics, in just about every way you can imagine, that spell the doom of this planet. The only real solution is the return of Jesus Christ. As adventists, and I say that loosely considering some of the off the wall opinions share in this forum, you should know all this. Moderators lazarus Posted August 31, 2015 Moderators Posted August 31, 2015 The profitable black section of Tulsa Ok was air bombed, because whites did not like the prosperity of the blacks. That page in history has been hushed up. Yes, I was stunned when I read about that. It was the first 911. Three thousand killed! http://sfbayview.com/2011/02/what-happened-to-black-wall-street-on-june-1-1921/ Black Wall Street, the name fittingly given to one of the most affluent all-Black communities in America, was bombed from the air and burned to the ground by mobs of envious Whites. In a period spanning fewer than 12 hours, a once thriving Black business district in northern Tulsa lay smoldering – a model community destroyed and a major African-American economic movement resoundingly defused. The night’s carnage left some 3,000 African Americans dead and over 600 successful businesses lost. Among these were 21 churches, 21 restaurants, 30 grocery stores and two movie theaters, plus a hospital, a bank, a post office, libraries, schools, law offices, a half dozen private airplanes and even a bus system. As could have been expected, the impetus behind it all was the infamous Ku Klux Klan, working in consort with ranking city officials and many other sympathizers. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. Einstein
