Which real life investigator's name was adopted by a TV character?

I'm going to eliminate Miller and Mason, only because neither was an investigator in my eyes! Ness was an actual real live character, but Columbo was a TV character, so I'll go with him!!

COLUMBO

Answer: Eliot Ness was a Prohibition agent, famous for his efforts to bring down Al Capone and enforce Prohibition. He was the leader of a famous team of law enforcement agents from Chicago, nicknamed The Untouchables. Robert Stack portrayed the crime fighting Eliot Ness in the award-winning ABC television hit drama series, The Untouchables (1959–1963). The show fictionalized Ness's experiences as a Prohibition agent, fighting crime in Chicago in the 1930s. The Untouchables won Stack an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series in 1960.

JACK RUBY

Answer: Strip club owner Jack Ruby famously shot accused John F. Kennedy’s assassin Lee Harvey Oswald on live television on this day in 1963, two days after the president was killed. Dallas police were going to transfer Oswald from the city jail to the county jail and reporters were crowded outside the police station to see Lee Harvey Oswald. As a handcuffed Oswald was being led to a car, Jack Ruby lunged out of the crowd and shot him in the abdomen. Millions of people saw the shooting live on television.

THE WARREN COMMISSION

Answer: The Warren Commission was authorized by President Johnson to investigate the death of President John F. Kennedy. It was headed by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Earl Warren. Warren had previously served as the governor of California and had served on the Supreme Court since 1953. Other members of the commission included a former president of the World Bank, two senators and representatives and a former director of the Central Intelligence Agency. It took almost one year for the commission to issue a report that was 888 pages long and concluded that Oswald acted alone in the assassination of the president.

ATLANTA

Answer: Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is an international airport located 7 miles south of Atlanta's central business district, in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is named after former Atlanta mayors William B. Hartsfield and Maynard Jackson. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the busiest airport in the world with 104 million passengers in 2017. Reasons for its popularity include its geographic location and its status as a connection hub. The Atlanta Airport is also a hub for Delta Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the United States.

Black

Answer: The gondola is a Venetian flat-bottomed boat that has been a traditional part of navigating the canals of Venice for hundreds of years. Although gondolas were once the primary means of transportation around Venice, they are mainly used to transport tourists today. Gondolas must be painted black by law, an ordinance which dates back to a 16th-century sumptuary law which tried to check the increasing gaudiness that had begun to touch all aspects of Venetian society, including their private boats. The black gondola has become one of the world's most beautiful, yet functional, works of art.

What is the estimated lifespan of a U.S. $1 bill?

Hmm? It seems that 97.9 years is kind of long and 13 months is to short, even 2.1 is a little short, so 5.8 is left? I'll go with that.

5.8 years

Answer: According to the U.S. Federal Reserve, the wear and tear of paper money is gauged by sophisticated processing equipment in order to determine its remaining lifespan. Those not up to scratch are removed from circulation and destroyed. The lifespan of a one dollar bill is a bit longer than you might expect. The Federal Reserve says the average life of a $1 bill in circulation is 5.8 years before it is replaced because of wear and tear. The average lifespan of a $100 bill is 15 years while a $20 bill lasts just 7.9 years. Source: FederalReserve.gov

 ICE PICK

Answer: Clue is a murder mystery board game. Players take the role of crime investigator searching for clues. The object of the game is to determine who murdered the game's victim, where the crime took place, and which weapon was used. For example: "I suggest it was Professor Plum, in the Dining Room, with the candlestick." There are a total of six weapons in the original version of the game of Clue, but an ice pick is not one of them! The list of weapons include a candlestick, knife, lead pipe, revolver, rope, and a wrench.

Answer: General Tso's chicken is a sweet deep-fried chicken dish that is served in Chinese restaurants across the United States. The dish is named after Zuo Zongtang, a Qing dynasty statesman and military leader from Hunan Province. He led several successful military campaigns, but is best known for recapturing the great western desert region of Xinjiang from rebellious Uyghur Muslims. The dish was originally prepared by Peng Chang-kuei, a Taiwan chef specializing in Hunan cuisine. Peng named the dish in honor of Zuo Zongtang.

Answer: Iceland, arguably the most feminist country on Earth banned all strip clubs in 2010. The law states no business may profit from nudity of its employees. The Nordic state is the first country in the world to ban stripping and lap dancing for feminist, rather than religious, reasons. Kolbrun Halldorsdottir, a former lawmaker who first proposed the bill said, “It is not acceptable that women or people in general are a product to be sold”. Iceland is ranked as No. 1 in the world for gender equality by the World Economic Forum.

ps:not sure i would've guessed Iceland!!

ROOTS

Answer: Kunta Kinte is a character in the novel Roots: The Saga of an American Family by author Alex Haley. Haley claimed that Kunta Kinte was based on one of his ancestors: a Gambian man who was born in 1750, enslaved and taken to America. Haley said that his account of Kunta's life in Roots was a mixture of fact and fiction. The novel was made into a TV miniseries and first aired in January 1977. In the original miniseries, the character was portrayed as a teenager by LeVar Burton and as an adult by John Amos.
