Virginia Maryland Delaware Massachusetts Delaware Answer: On this day in 1787, the U.S. Constitution was unanimously ratified in Delaware by all 30 delegates to the Delaware Constitutional Convention, making Delaware the first official state of the modern United States. The Constitution was sent to the states for ratification, and, by the terms of the document, the Constitution would become binding once nine of the former 13 colonies had ratified the document. Delaware led the process, and on June 21, 1788, New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the Constitution, making it the supreme law of the land. Chapman fired five times at Lennon, hitting him four times in the back and later sat down on a nearby curb reading J. D. Salinger's novel The Catcher in the Rye until he was arrested by the police. He has repeatedly said that the novel was his statement. After being taken into custody, Chapman told officers, “I’m sure the large part of me is Holden Caulfield, who is the main person in the book. The small part of me must be the Devil.” Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

"Legend" "Beatle" "Ono" "Love" Ono 9 hours ago, dgrimm60 said: ONO Answer: After John Lennon married Yoko Ono in 1969, he formally changed his middle name. Lennon updated his middle name by deed poll from Winston to “Ono”, during a brief ceremony on the roof of the Apple Corps building in London. Lennon had never liked his middle name, which had been given to him during a bout of wartime patriotism. Although he used the name John Ono Lennon thereafter, official documents referred to him as John Winston Ono Lennon, since UK law dictates that a person is unable to fully revoke a name given at birth. The use of the term "cheesehead" as a derogatory word for Wisconsinites originated with Illinois football and baseball fans to refer to opposing Wisconsin sports fans. The term, however, was quickly embraced by Wisconsinites and is now a point of pride. The "Cheesehead" trademark is owned by Foamation, Inc. of St. Francis, Wisconsin, which began manufacture of the wearable, foam "Cheesehead" in 1987. Look, the band would go on to accomplish some really impressive and innovative stuff, but all that pales in comparison to the most important distinction of them all: Getting your own Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor. Grateful Dead fans are known for occasionally smoking a joint or two. And if there's one thing a pothead loves as much as psychedelic music, it's ice cream. And at the encouragement of fans, in 1987, Ben & Jerry's released their first ever flavor named after a rock star. Named after band frontman Jerry Garcia, the flavor Cherry Garcia spent over a decade as the company's most popular flavor before finally being unseated in 2013 by Half Baked. The flavor is so beloved that Vermont even has a Cherry Garcia Street which, as far as we can tell, is one more street than the actual rock star has. On 12/11/2018 at 12:21 PM, phkrause said: Which Grateful Dead Song Sometimes Lasted Over 40 Minutes When Done Live? If you've ever played the song "Dark Star" off a CD, you probably got a good two minutes and forty seconds of enjoyment out of it and then went on your way. But if you went to a live show, you'd see that song turned into a platform for jazz-style riffs and guitar solos that took longer than the oven time on most pizzas. How long was the longest ever "Dark Star" performance? That's a matter of some debate, but most peg the answer at somewhere between 43:27 and 63:51. Seeing the band play the song at a concert was such an experience that many Deadheads just refer to the song as "IT," a title which we feel could easily lead to some sort of Abbott and Costello-type routine. On 12/11/2018 at 12:21 PM, phkrause said: How Was Jerry Garcia Represented When the Band Was Inducted into the Hall of Fame? If there's one Hall of Fame which seems most likely to have honorees who no-show, it would have to be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After all, who is a bigger temperamental diva than a rock star? The list of museum no-shows includes Paul McCartney, Diana Ross and Roger Waters. We don't know what's worse, that the Beatles got inducted without McCartney or that a band called Diana Ross and the Supremes was inducted without Diana Ross. But the list also includes Jerry Garcia. Well, almost. Garcia was reportedly opposed to the idea of a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, because... well why not? But the rest of the band still felt he should be there. So when they were inducted they brought a cardboard cutout of the guy in his place. On 12/11/2018 at 12:21 PM, phkrause said: What's the Band Called Today? They will probably always be known as The Grateful Dead, which is unfortunate, because their name doesn't actually have the word "The" at the front of it, it's just Grateful Dead. But that wasn't always their name. A few of the original members started off in a fantastically-named band called Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions, and before they were Grateful Dead, they were The Warlocks. After the death of Garcia in 1995, former members of the band, along with other musicians, toured as the Other Ones in 1998, 2000, and 2002, and the Dead in 2003, 2004, and 2009. In 2015, the four surviving core members marked the band's 50th anniversary in a series of concerts that were billed as their last performances together. Paul McCartney Sammy Davis Jr. James Brown Frank Sinatra Answer: Frank Sinatra Jr. was kidnapped at the age of 19 at Harrah’s Casino in Lake Tahoe. He was released on this day in 1963 after his father paid the $240,000 ransom demanded by the kidnappers. The kidnappers demanded that all communication be conducted by payphone. During these conversations, Frank Sr. became concerned he would not have enough coins, which prompted him to carry 10 dimes with him at all times for the rest of his life; he was even buried with 10 dimes in his pocket. A rumor at the time was that Frank Jr. orchestrated the abduction as a publicity stunt, however this was proven to be false. As Rick (Humphrey Bogart) prepares to say goodbye to Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman), we get to experience "You'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life"; "We'll always have Paris"; and, finally, "Here's looking at you, kid". Amazingly, this line was originally in the script as "Here's good luck to you, kid." Supposedly, Bogart changed the line during the filming of the movie. "Here's looking at you, kid" was voted the fifth most memorable line in cinema according to the American Film Institute. Donald Trump Bill Gates Tommy Lee Jones Bill O'Reilly Answer: Tommy Lee Jones was placed in a dorm known as Mower B-12 as a freshmen in college. As a matter of sheer coincidence future Vice President of the United States and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore was housed right across the hall from Jones. The two young men struck up a friendship that would go on to last a lifetime. As upperclassmen at Harvard the two close friends chose to live together as roommates. Jones presented the nominating speech for Al Gore, the Democratic Party’s U.S. presidential nominee, at the 2000 Democratic National Convention.
