Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

That's a great try! But the word I was looking for is: Hebrew- Exodus 1:16

But let's have a go at the next question:

Upon which mountain did Elijah defeat the prophets of Baal?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Posted

Or Genesis 14:13 ( Abram the Hebrew, "one from beyond")

Upon which mountain did Elijah defeat the prophets of Baal?

Mountain Carmel.

Exactly! 1 Ki.18:19

Here's another one:

Where was the Garden of Gethsemane located?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Posted

Just outside Jerusalem., "over the brook Cedron" John 18:1, on the "Mount of Olives" Luke 22:39, Mark 14:26, 32; Matt 26:30, 36.

Wow! Great references, MG! Thank you!

Here's an easier one, found in the book of Joel:

According to the prophet Joel, what would the Holy Spirit enable young men and young women to do?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Posted

Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Joel 2:28.

Very good, Monica! Absolutely correct!

Next:

According to Acts 8:39, what did the Holy Spirit do with Philip?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Posted

The Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip. So He helped him vanish.

Right! Bizarre, but not unheard of

Thanks, Monica!

On to the next:

At the start of the book of Esther, how long had the king and his satraps been feasting?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

You guys are getting them as fast as I'm kicking them out! Well done!

Okay, let's try another, a harder one this time:

When Elijah was on Mount Horeb, what three things did God show him?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Posted

"a great strong wind which broke the mountain," 1 Kings 19:11

"an earthquake" 1 Kings 19:11

and then "a fire" 1 Kings 19:12" But the Lord was not in any of them.

Finally, "a still small voice" 1 Kings 19:12 which Elijah recognized as the voice of the Lord. He hid his face in his coat, and then the Lord spoke to him.

Here's the next question:

WOW! Excellent! The reference for this is 2 Ki.13:20-21

Try this one:

What does Zechariah say will happen when the Messiah's foot touches the Mount of Olives?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

The Mount of Olives will split in two from the middle. One half will go towards the east, the other half will go towards the west leaving a very great valley. Zech. 14:4.

So much is contained in this book!! Many prophesies about Jesus, riding the donkey into Jerusalem, thirty pieces of silver, throwing of the 30 pieces of silver in the temple, asking about the wounds in his hands, the lies of the "shepherds" and on and on. Wow, I have to go back and study this book!!
