Amelia Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Out of all your latest pictures, I kept coming back to this one. It's almost surreal. I get the feeling that everything is almost computer generated except for the dove. The dove is only real feature in the pic. I really, really like this picture. Moderators John317 Posted April 13, 2008 Author Moderators Posted April 13, 2008 That hadn't occurred to me before, but come to think of it, I can see what you mean. I waited for over two hours for a dove to get into that perfect position, too, and now I'm glad I did. It really makes the picture, as you say. The exposure was made on a 4x5 Tri-X negative in a "field camera"-- you know, one of those old cameras where you see the image reversed and you have to wear that cloth over your head. D. Allan Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 This portrait i like very much. His personality seems to come through - a thoughtful man. Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
Moderators John317 Posted April 14, 2008 Author Moderators Posted April 14, 2008 Don't feel bad, but it's Mrs. Clark. She may look somewhat masculine. But thanks-- you're right, her personality does come through. She was sitting just inside an open window and the rest of the cabin was unlighted because she had no electricity. I lived with the family for over a month before I felt at liberty to start taking photographs. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. I will also post a picture of her and her husband outside their cabin.
