What is the order of events prior to the return of Jesus?

Is there a way to know the exact order of events leading up to the second coming of Jesus? What leads to the Time of Trouble? Is there a Little Time of Trouble first? What leads to that?

Wow. I hope you make a time-line for this. I want to help, but I might not be able to today. I could give some random things.

But some things that I would say might be too offensive for some people. Like the idea that the Papacy is right now calling alot of the shots and setting up a new Inquisition.

I'm not bitter or grudging toward Catholics or w/e. But this is prophecy.

No slicing and dicing the text - it is all a product of the Spirit of

Truth and the Love of the Truth is what drives us to accept and desire MORE.

If one Love's chocolate they do not say "no thanks I had a new piece of chocolate four years ago - now I'm done".

One of the most important reasons you should care is that if you don't know these things you are likely to be tricked into believing every wind of doctrine. Also, it's important to know so that you will see that God is in control. Things are going to be so terrible that if our faith isn't settled into the truth about God, and if we don't know the prophecies, we will despair and have too little trust in God to pass through those experiences. Millions will be shaken out of the truth who knew it but didn't let it become a part of their life practice, and their place will be taken by people who are hearing the truth for the first time and recognize it as God's truth.

Another reason is in order to prepare for the closing of human probation, which occurs sooner for Seventh-day Adventists than it does for the rest of the world.

Only those who have the Holy Spirit will pass through the end-time events and stand until the Second Coming. The rest will be deceived and be found at last on the side of Satan.

Those are just a few of the reasons we should all care.

Why does probation close sooner for SDA's than it does for anyone else??? Not all SDA's are created equal, i.e., not all are on the same spiritual level. It's more like a bowl of chocolate just sitting there for guests to take. You can ignore it if your allergic to it. I can't see what you would hope to accomplish by going to the bowl and announcing that you're allergic to it. People will just think you're weird and ignore you.

Close of Probation Passes Unnoticed

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write

unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so

The righteous and the wicked will still be living upon the earth in

their mortal state--men will be planting and building, eating and

drinking, all unconscious that the final, irrevocable decision has been

pronounced in the sanctuary above. Before the flood, after Noah entered

the ark, God shut him in, and shut the ungodly out; but for seven days

the people, knowing not that their doom was fixed, continued their

careless, pleasure-loving life, and mocked the warnings of impending

judgment. "So," says the Savior, "shall also the coming of the Son of

man be." Silently, unnoticed as the midnight thief, will come the

decisive hour which marks the fixing of every man's destiny, the final

withdrawal of mercy's offer to guilty men.

The Lord in judgment will at the close of time walk through the earth,

probation is drawing to a close. The sun is fast westering. Can it be

that it will set and thou wilt not know "the things which belong unto

thy peace!"? Must the irrevocable sentence be passed, "But now they are

hid from thine eyes" (Luke 19:42)?

I think the following is a very good, applicable reason for someone to want to be fully prepared for the situation leading up to the Second Coming and fully aware of the "march of events" that will occur during that time.

The Corruption of Truth

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there;

believe it not. Matt. 24:23.

Before the last developments of the work of apostasy there will be a

confusion of faith. There will not be clear and definite ideas

concerning the mystery of God. One truth after another will be

corrupted.

After the truth has been proclaimed as a witness to all nations, every

conceivable power of evil will be set in operation, and minds will be

confused by many voices crying, "Lo, here is Christ; lo, He is there.

This is the truth, I have the message from God, He has sent me with

great light." Then there will be a removing of the landmarks, and an

attempt to tear down the pillars of our faith. A more decided effort

will be made to exalt the false sabbath, and to cast contempt upon God

Himself by supplanting the day He has blessed and sanctified. This false

sabbath is to be enforced by an oppressive law.

In the future, deception of every kind is to arise, and we want solid

ground for our feet. We want solid pillars for the building. Not one pin

is to be removed from that which the Lord has established. The enemy

will bring in false theories, such as the doctrine that there is no

sanctuary. This is one of the points on which there will be a departing

from the faith.

There will be false dreams and false visions, which have some truth, but

lead away from the original faith. The Lord has given men a rule by

which to detect them: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak

not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them"

(Isa. 8:20).

As we near the end of time, falsehood will be so mingled with truth,

that only those who have the guidance of the Holy Spirit will be able to

distinguish truth from error. We need to make every effort to keep the

way of the Lord. We must in no case turn from His guidance to put our

trust in man. The Lord's angels are appointed to keep strict watch over

those who put their faith in the Lord, and these angels are to be our

special help in every time of need. Every day we are to come to the Lord

with full assurance of faith, and to look to Him for wisdom. . . . Those

who are guided by the Word of the Lord will discern with certainty

between falsehood and truth, between sin and righteousness.

While the list here is specific to the United States, the broad outline of the events will involve all the nations of the world.

This question and the issues relating to it are especially important now since the majority of Adventists today live outside the United States, so their experiences during these events will be different in some respects from Adventists in the United States.

However, all Seventh-day Adventists and everyone who accepts the Third Angels Messages will eventually go through similar spiritual trials and persecution. The calamities will be world-wide, as will be the shaking, the latter rain, the loud cry, the universal Sunday law, the close of probation, the plagues, and of course the Second Coming.
