olger Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Taking the whole family to Californy. It ought to be a bit warmer than last year. Looking forward to seeing the "Batch", the "Boon" and many others. Y'all behave while we are out. `oG (Anyone else going?) Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Woody Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Sorry Olger. I hear they are having some pretty cold weather there. You may be disappointed. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Taylor Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Ya unfortunately it has been cold in CA lately..had frost on my windshield the other day...and it was about 29 degrees (but that was a 5 a.m.) During the day it has gotten up quite a bit higher but we've needed a jacket. Quote
Woody Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Right Taylor. Because of that ... NO Batchin' or Boonin' for me. It's going to be a cold place to go to. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
olger Posted December 16, 2008 Author Posted December 16, 2008 Hey they got heat in that Convention Center - we're gonna be all right ! Taylor you coming up to the meeting? oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Peace Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 The meetings start Wednesday evening. You can register at the door but meal plan may not be available. It may be a little cold but not that cold like it was in Minneapolis last year. It was freezing then and we trudged in the snow on our door to door evangelism Sabbath afternoon. But it was worth it and it was fun. People come from all over the world to GYC. There were representatives from Brazil, Philippines, Romania, Russia, etc. The ages mostly ranges between 18-45. Course, there are lots of senior citizens who go, too, but they have to pay a little extra which is really worth it anyway. There is still time to go if you can go. You will be blessed. That is why Olga is going, right?? Quote
Peace Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Olga, stop by the AudioVerse booth and see if you can win the drawing. Quote
olger Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 Olger is taking his family in search of a blessing . I am certain we will find & be one. `ol Ger Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
delta Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Just wonder... Hi uncle Redwood, you declared: Quote: Sorry Olger. I hear they are having some pretty cold weather there. You may be disappointed. I just wonder if Olger were going to see some football or baseball games in the same city and in the same dates GYC will be held....do you think your words "Sorry Olger", "Pretty Cold" and finally "You may be dissapointed" will come out of you mouth? ....aaahhhhh...."you may be disapointed?" I don't watch baseball, but I remember a couple weeks ago a grand final took place in a stadium but because of the heavy rains, as previously predicted by the weather service, the game must be postponed, then continued the next day. What a golden opportunity if the supporters of each team should saying "you may be dissapointed" days before the game started at that time,,,, for them NOT to come to watch the game and to support their own favorite team to win the game! "You may be dissapointed" Quote
Woody Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I am not a legalist ... so I won't defend myself but ... if not the weather perhaps Olger will be disappointed at the number of legalist that are there. He has indicated to us that he is a legalist and so I would wonder ... Quote: #123492 - 04/30/07 02:01 PM Re: Not Going To Heaven [Re: D. Allan] Thank you . delta Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Hi Redwood, don't forget to pray, "Dear God, I am so proud I am not a legalist as Olger. Please, oh Lord, don't ever convince me to love one another and to embarce even a legalist. But I would be more than happy, dear Jesus, if you teach me to love even Hindu, Buddha, Catholics, Moslem and all other groups of people with unconditional love except the a group of legalists/Pharisees or fanatic ones....But keep in mind Lord, if You'd love me to pray to legalist/pharisee, I will protest to You, OK LOrd?!!! Because I belive since I hate legalist/fanatics/pharisees, You Lord must agree and in accordance with me to also hate those people. Happy Birthday dear Jesus. Amen (@"@)!!! Love won another ..except legalists/pharisees/fanatics Quote

Taylor Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Having never been to a GYC, I watched the first meeting online here are two things I noticed. 1. A high school age small orchestra and choir sang the song "I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb" (a song I just love) 2. The new president of GYC, a young McNeilus preached and his theme was basically: a. We have a world to win for Jesus, so let's not let anything stand in our way to show God's love and in that love give the wonderful news of the gospel. b. We have to quitt saying "I can't associate with you because I am more holy than you" or "I am more broad minded than you". Liberals and conservatives must learn to work together or we will never live together in God's kingdom. All I can say is AMEN! Sounds great to me! Quote

That was back when Robert was calling everyone who wasn't a sequiera disciple a legalist . So be it. As to the weather, we Ohio fellars got more than we expected in californy. Weather is nice enough. y`all be good. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
olger Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 Hi Taylor. Justin did a very good job. Large group of kids here - should be well over 4000 on Sabbath. Looking forward to meetings today. blessings, oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Peace Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Olger, Thanks for your updates. Do keep us posted on GYC. This year will be the first time we can't be there. Quote
olger Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 Peace, peace. Stopped by the audioverse booth, talked with a young African boy. Nice fellow. Sat in on the class of Ron DuPreez. Very keen teacher on ethics. Excellent presentation on modesty, noncombatancy and moral dilemmas. I liked that sort of thing. Randy Skeete preached the message this evening. Powerful and straightforward. Not very politically correct (I like that sort of thing). Lots of fine kids looking for a closer walk with Jesus, and finding it. Self-denial is not a bad word here, I've noticed, but rather a principle of Jesus Himself. I like that sort of thing. Time to sign off & brush my teeth. I hate that sort of thing. oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Kountzer Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Randy Skeete is cool. I've seen and heard him on 3abn a few times. DB Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Frederick Douglass
Peace Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Yes, I heard the sermon Skeete gave last night on 3ABN. It was powerful. Just what we all need. I will have to listen to it again when they put it out on www.AudioVerse.org OlGer, if you walk by AudioVerse again, please give Tim Arakawa my greetings. He's the one that gave the opening prayer opening night(Wednesday night). Thanks. Quote
