olger Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 Randy was in top form tonight too. What a day, much blessings. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
olger Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 Yes, I heard the sermon Skeete gave last night on 3ABN. It was powerful. Just what we all need. I will have to listen to it again when they put it out on www.AudioVerse.org OlGer, if you walk by AudioVerse again, please give Tim Arakawa my greetings. He's the one that gave the opening prayer opening night(Wednesday night). Thanks. I will need a name to do that. If I say "Peace says hi"...... Yesterday the meetings were great. Ron Dupreez talked about ethics & how morality affects your destiny. Met lots of fine people. Keep bumping into Kevin Paulson. Funny guy. Had a nice conversation with Alan Parker and Bill Krick. These youth are inspiring in their comittment to the three Angel's Message. Many of them have Bible studies going on all the time. Randy Skeete had another great message. My sons & I attended a men's meeting yesterday. Lots of good sharing about men's issues and how to be the kind of men/husbands/fathers that God wants. Decided to write a couple of articles yesterday. One on something that happened in our business this year, and one on co-habitation. The "Batch" is here. He still has his sense of humor. y`all behave oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Peace Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 OlGer, go right ahead with the "Peace says hi..." and add a little mystery to it. I'm sure he'll figure it out sooner or later. Thanks. Let us know how the afternoon door to door evangelism went. Have a great Sabbath. Quote
Woody Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Listened to about 3 or 4 hours of this ... can't help but wish that there could be a real alternative to this conservative mantra that they proclaim. If we could get a more mainstream or liberal version of the GYC ... it would be a great blessing and contrast. I know that some people need this kind of religion. But then others don't. We all grow and become at a different place in our spiritual lives. So I just wish that those who are at a different place had an approach to match it. Peace Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Redwood, what "conservative mantra" are you referring to? Quote
Woody Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 You know .... we can't be saved from certain sins. Works Works and more works. Rules Rules Rules. We have to become perfect ... that kind of stuff. It gets old. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
delta Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 First of all, uncle Redwood, your statement here by concluding that Olger is a legalist and then by cursing about 4000 Adventists Youth in GYC even by saying, "perhaps Olger will be disappointed at the number of legalist that are there....."(wow!!!) openly declared that your hatred and judgmental mentallity are really and totally in harmony with your mantra: "LOVE WON ANOTHER" which you always proclaim again and again and again. So, I apologize to you since I didn't realize that your "love" is bigger than the real love of our Lord Jesus Christ who also loves His children in GYC. LOVE WON ANOTHER I do also believe that your 'love' is at work now and your 'love' has created a huge desire inside your heart...wishing that all SDA conservatives should be massacred and eliminated. That's why uncle Redwood would be more than happy to be a masterplan to set up a "contemporary GYC", something like a competitor of the existing Bible-based GYC as Redwood just declared, "If we could get a more mainstream or liberal version of the GYC ... it would be a great blessing and contrast." LOVE ONE ANOTHER But wait a minute....you said, "Blessing"??? Ooh boy....If you think that the present GYC is not such a blessing (according to your mantra), well, that's your business. Please don't make a blanket statement. But, ooopsss....sorry, I almost forget about this holy person't mantra, "LOVE WON ANOTHER" Anyway, your hit-and-run blanket statements are vague and noncommittal statements, asserting a premise without providing evidence. LOVE WON ANOTHER Nevertheless, your hatred attitude towards GYC unrevealed the self-explanatory idea of your 'lovely' concept as your anti-conservative mantra: LOVE WON ANOTHER. God bless GYC Love wows another Quote
delta Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Uncle Redwood, Ask God to give power for Obedience of His will and His eternal-holy Laws as a sign that you love Him (if you want). Obedience to God. Sign of legalism and fanatism? Before you ask yourself, ask your boss in your job, or government, or maybe in Military. Does your obedience will then pleased them or they will curse you as a legalist or fanatic and finally fired you since your obedience distract them? The more you love Jesus, the more is our obedience shall be. Love won another Quote
there buster Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Robots obey, but they cannot love. We do many things out of love that we would not do for any amount of money. An emphasis on obedience will, by its nature, lead to legalism. In religion, an emphasis on obedience will result in a competition to see who will be the robots, and who will be the robot programmers. A really skilled programmer, like, say, David Koresh, can ingrain obedience into quite a number of robots. We are to train the youth to be thinkers, not mere reflectors of other men's thoughts. Training youth simply to obey makes them prey to the directives of other minds. Quote “the slovenliness of our language makes it easier to have foolish thoughts.” George Orwell

delta Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Watch out! The mantra of this holy grandpa is at work: "LOVE WON ANOTHER". The message is clear. Don't forget that....okay???!!! Quote

delta Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Hey uncle Redwood, since your childish comment to curse Olger as being a legalist before she headed to GYC in the name of "LOVE ONE ANOTHER" (Your mantra) that really really hurts Olger's heart and peace of mind--but probably this make you more proud--I don't see that Olger is demanding an apologize from you from your harsh & judgemental comments earlier. But at the same time I don't know if your mantra "LOVE WON ANOTHER" would probably be at work here or still on vacation. Well, your message just now..."We should love one another", The message is clear, right uncle Redwood? LOVE WON ANOTHER (Including or except legalist)?? LOVE WON ANOTHER LOVE WON ANOTHER Quote
Woody Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Quote: "The Lord is testing and proving His people. You may be just as severe and critical with your own defective character as you please; but be kind, pitiful, and courteous toward others. Inquire every day: Am I sound to the core, or am I false-hearted? Entreat the Lord to save you from all deception on this point. Eternal interests are involved. While so many are panting after honor and greedy of gain, do you, my beloved brethren, be eagerly seeking the assurance of the love of God and crying: Who will show me how to make my calling and election sure?" 5T 97. delta Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 What a brilliant political-tactic of uncle Redwood.... Hiding his political agenda in continuosly proclaiming his hatred to the group of conservative Adventists, including our dedicated sons and daughters at GYC. All of this hatred agenda subtly covered in the name of LOVE ONE ANOTHER or LOVE WON ANOTHER or whatever he wants to say about "Love" Sorry, but, hey uncle Redwood, no matter how legalist/fanatic the person is,.....is it wrong to embrace and show your genuine love to them, though they won't love you back? Anyway, the term legalist/fanatic/pharisee is totally different compared to the (ultra) conservative. But your desire is to make it bias and very happy if somebody doesn't know the difference--and keep the terms twisted all the time. So why you still read and quote from the Apostle Paul in your bible. He's the pharisees. Isn't he an unclean person according to your perception? Quote
Peace Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I just found out that the GYC sermons and seminars are already up and ready to be downloaded or listen on line at www.audioverse.org. What efficiency! What treasures! And they're free!!! Quote
olger Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 `lo Ich & redwood. There are times for an emphasis on both bright aspects of the gospel. If you are thirsty, do you ask for a glass of hydrogen or a glass of oxygen? These kids are very inspiring here, and if you would come here and stand among them, your critiques of them might carry more weight. Or they might not happen at all.. All in all, God bless both of you and we had a real nice time . oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Woody Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Oh. I have no doubt about the youth Olger. My concern personally .... was what I heard from the pulpit or stage. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
there buster Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 It's fascinating to see what happens when these youth have an alternative to the GYC understanding of Adventism. Quote “the slovenliness of our language makes it easier to have foolish thoughts.” George Orwell
olger Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 The Advent Message was fascinating to me 19-years, 51 weeks, and 3 days ago. By His grace, it still is. oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
olger Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 It's fascinating to see what happens when these youth have an alternative to the GYC understanding of Adventism. We have seen the alternative at bedsides, funerals and other places. We thus prefer the consecration that we see here among these youthful Bible workers.
