there buster Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Quote: you angrily said I saw no anger. Please do not attribute motives to others. Since he did not say nor indicate "I hate. . ." that would make your attribution. . .er. . . judgmental. Quote: alsely declares that GYC movement is an unclean, heretic and must be elimitated. No one has made any such declarations. Quote: deny the facts that GYC is one of the fulfillments of the long-buried Advent Movement especially here in North America. Those 'facts' are disputed. Unless attributing anger, hatred, and declarations of heresy to another falls under your definition of "pleasant." delta Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 [Just to reflect back....or something like that] This topic started by Olger just before he headed to San Jose Ca for a GYC convention. And all of a sudden Redwood attacked Olger by saying that he is a "Legalist". These attacks continued even by making a high-toned statement: "Olger will be disappointed at the number of legalist that are there. He has indicated to us that he is a legalist and so I would wonder ...etcs (Censored) Though Redwood was being adviced to be calm down, relax and "turn down your volume, please"....but his attitude and his blanket statements stay the same--not to mention how many hatred PM he sent r/t GYC. So when people reflect the way he attack GYC back to him, is it an unfair game? Tell yourself please, who started the high volume statements......But sorry for any inconvenience. Taylor Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Uncle Redwood, you angrily said, "I've heard of the Advent Movement ... but now we have the 'GYC movement'. This is what concerns me.I for one ... prefer to stick with the Advent Movement." and then your negative sentiment in an open-ended question: "was it the only place for SDA youth to hang out and see each other?" Your extreme hatred and judgemental statements again and again are highly predicted, of course, not only today but the next. Yes, your point of view to judge that you "prefer to stick with the Advent Movement" falsely declares that GYC movement is an unclean, heretic and must be elimitated. Unfortunately, uncle Redwood, your blanket statements deny the facts that GYC is one of the fulfillments of the long-buried Advent Movement especially here in North America. GYC is a wake-up calling movement for a great degree of slumber.....cotton candy Adventism Christianity. It is a movement to change our attitude from merely the pleasant substance Laodecian back to the Movement, higher than the highest, and burden for souls. Of course this GYC movement would probably also stamped as a Legalism an fanatics. But keep in mind, God's people are never in majority side. LOVE WON ANOTHER One can't judge the motives of others. What might seem as coming from "sarcasm or extreme anger" may not be true at all. There may be irritation or tongue in cheek or dislike but to lable things are "extreme anger" is probably not a judicious thing to say since you can't know for sure. I am not trying to "get you in trouble" or even "stick up for somone" as Redwood is an adult and can fend for himself (in fact he might rather fend for himself then have me say anything...I don't know) but I just think we need to take people at their word...and not judge what their motives are. Taylor Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 When any group gets parnoid about another group that isn't healthy. It is healthy to "stand up for what one believes" to work for "the salvatin of others" and to "share the gospel as you understand it to be". But it doens't help to be on the defensive no matter what the real or perceived attacks are. Quote
Woody Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Delta,You need to back off and take a 'chill pill', such rhetoric is simply not needed!!!! You are speaking volumes about your own attitudes towards others that may disagree with you. Yeah. This case is very obvious. What more needs to be said. Peace Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 A group of young adults (ages ranging from 25-30) gathered at my home last night for a 3 hour discussion on GYC. It was their first time to GYC and all were impressed on the spiritual impact it had on their lives. Each returned with a desire to be bold for Christ in the work place and in the home, to be doers of the Word and not just hearers, to bring the spirit of GYC to their friends. All participated in the evangelism on Sabbath afternoon and would like to continue likewise in their hometown. As our discussion continued, all were convicted of the urgency to spread the message of the love of Christ and His soon coming. Quote
