skyblue888 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 For now it is the kingdom of glory in the form of inward grace for "The kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:21. "The kingdom of God is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" obtained through faith, by appropriating to ourselves the merits of Jesus Christ." Rom.14:17. See how simple the matter of salvation is: "Looking unto Jesus and trusting in His merits, we appropriate the blessings of light and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." Testimonies, Vol.5, p.744. This is the work of a lifetime for we must daily apply to His merits that we may become vessels fit for the Master's use. sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.

Sky's version: "The kingdom of God is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" obtained through faith, by appropriating to ourselves the merits of Jesus Christ." Rom.14:17. Adding words to God's Word is not a good idea. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Musicman1228 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Just as all prophetic symbols have literal meanings so to do identifiers such as the "Kingdom of Heaven". Jesus IS the greatest prophet that ever lived on earth (or in Heaven for that matter) and He is nothing if not precise in his illustrations. So when Jesus begins Matt. 25 with . . . “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. (Matt.25:1) . . . I understand that He is speaking about a specific time and a specific event, and a specific entity as the literal 'Kingdom of Heaven. It is then incumbent upon us to define the symbol or identifier in the context of it's use in the prophecy. In this case Jesus is very specific in identifying the Kingdom as servants of the bride, who go out to meet the Bridegroom at a specific time and place (the time is when they thought He was coming, the place is away from where they were originally), five wise had oil (Holy Spirit), five foolish did not have oil (no Holy Spirit), and when the Bridegroom delayed His coming (because none of the 10 bridesmaids were ready and able to prepare the bride) then they ALL went to sleep. This description is incredibly detailed and specific, and from my perspective only one literal group of people match the symbols of this description in every detail and that is the Advent believers that eventually became the Seventh-day Adventist church. Couple that with the description of Sardis in Rev. 3 and it can only be the SDA's. That is where I get my understanding about the identity of the Kingdom of Heaven. Quote
