LifeHiscost Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Has Redwood? It all comes down to a matter of interpretation. Accusations about one another does not help anyone's cause. Particularly the cause of God. So no one has a monopoly on Truth. "The message of salvation is communicated to men through human agencies. But the Jews had sought to make a monopoly of the truth which is eternal life. They had hoarded the living manna, and it had turned to corruption. The religion which they tried to shut up to themselves became an offense. They robbed God of His glory, and defrauded the world by a counterfeit of the gospel. They had refused to surrender themselves to God for the salvation of the world, and they became agents of Satan for its destruction. {DA 36.1}" underlined mine LHC It seems disagreement is not a problem but perhaps hoarding what we believe, away from the world, is. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.Romans 10:3 KJV And that would mean submitting both to His imputed righteousness as well as His imparted righteousness. Some have difficulty with one or the other. Old sailor, let's you and I, and anyone else who wishes, claim this promise for yourself as well as ourself, to this end that we be willing to accept His righteousness whether imparted or imputed, and then believe His promise to us. ""Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven."Matthew 18:19 NIV Blessings! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
skyblue888 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 it is very easy to discuss what we must be like when Christ comes yet be so blind and deceived that we dont see the sin in our own lives we swear up and down has to be given up before heaven. "I saw that none could share the "refreshing" unless they obtain the victory over every besetment, over pride, selfishness, love of the world, and over every wrong word and action. We should, therefore, be drawing nearer and nearer to the Lord and be earnestly seeking that preparation necessary to enable us to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. Let all remember that God is holy and that none but holy beings can ever dwell in His presence." {Mar 254.5} Thanks Teresa. This is a great statement. Now this is what it's all about, about end-time events. This is at the very heart of the issue in the controversy between Christ and Satan. I wonder what Red would say about this statement, that in order to partake of the descent of the Holy Spirit in large measure, when the latter rain shall come, we must first have the victory over every besetment, over pride, selfishness, love of the world, and over every wrong word and action! I think I have a pretty good idea what Red will say after reading this statement, something like "I agree with that statement. It is all true but it all depends how you interpret it." hehe sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.

I am mystified why he would make that claim. I know that Redwood rejects the idea that we need to overcome before Jesus comes, because Redwood teaches that Jesus will change our characters when He comes, which is directly opposed to what Ellen White stated. So I can see how Redwood disagrees with the SOP, but not sure how Sky does, because Redwood has made the charge but there is no "filling in the sandwich", no basis for examination of that charge... The character of the saints that go throug the close of probation (which seems to be the subject title). in Christ, Bob Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin."
