Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 28, 2010 Author Members Posted January 28, 2010 I'm still waffling back and forth! I need to make up my mind very shortly here. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Woody Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 If it doesn't work out Pam ... you could just find another home for him/her. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Administrators Gail Posted January 28, 2010 Administrators Posted January 28, 2010 Pam, that is a gift from God to you! How wonderful! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 28, 2010 Author Members Posted January 28, 2010 This is Newly at 12 weeks old. He's now 8 months old...so he'll be quite a bit bigger now. He has perfect markings for a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog...even down to the white cross on his chest. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. GreatLakesGramma Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 He is cute. Will he be a large dog when he is full grown? Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 29, 2010 Author Members Posted January 29, 2010 He will be about 115 lbs. Not real tall, but husky and brawny, if you know what I mean. And he's not a yappy barker either, which is nice. The only drawback is that I'll have "Berner fur" around ... they shed their undercoat in the Spring...so I'll have to do a lot of brushing. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Members phkrause Posted January 29, 2010 Members Posted January 29, 2010 He is going to be a beauty Pam. Congratulation's, or should I say Mazeltov, on your new friend. Members phkrause Posted January 29, 2010 Members Posted January 29, 2010 Danke sehr!!! I'm sure hoping the puppy will "take" to me. When my family moved to the Bronx and we became superintendants of this 6 story building, my parents needed a dog. Well one of the church members were having a problem with there dog, so they gave her to us. I think she was around the same age or a little older. It didn't take her long to get to like all of us. And she turned out to be a really good watch dog. No one could get near us if she thought that they were going to harm any of us. So I think you'll be OK. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
GreatLakesGramma Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Pam, I think God is giving Newly to you, so He can love you through him, since you are having a hard time feeling His love for you these days. Members phkrause Posted January 31, 2010 Members Posted January 31, 2010 How's the puppy Pam, lets hear all about it.... pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 31, 2010 Author Members Posted January 31, 2010 I leave tomorrow morning (Sunday) at 9AM to drive 3 hrs to meet the owners 1/2 way to pick up the puppy. I'm really nervous about it. Both about driving so far, and about the puppy. My mom is going with me to keep me company. Mom bought a new bed for the doghouse and she bought the food for the puppy too. I had an old, but still very usable, doggie bed for inside. I'm not sure whether to have the puppy sleep Sunday night in my bedroom with me or to leave him out in the kitchen and block the door. I have to decide about that! I hope everything goes okay. I really want this to work out for both me and the puppy!!!! On Monday AM I have a doctor's appt so my Mom will be puppy-sitting her new "grandson".... I think things will go okay. I have to drop off at the computer store, too, and see if they can figure out what's wrong with my computer.... if I need to get a new Airport or what... so Mom will have the puppy for the entire morning and through noontime. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. GreatLakesGramma Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 If he's been an outside dog, he might be OK with the kitchen, but if he's lonely and frightened, you might want to let him sleep in your room. You could try the kitchen first and see how he does with that. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis

Dottie Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 We got a puppy in September. He cried in the kitchen, so I moved him into the bedroom. He fussed, but every time I sh-h-h-h-ed, he would calm down. But he was in his crate. He still sleeps in there at night. If you have carpeting in your room, it might not be such a good idea to have him in your room the first night. Have a safe trip, and may you get your computer fixed at no great expense. I know you're going to have a great time with the puppy. Quote

GreatLakesGramma Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Now that you have a puppy dog Pam ... I hope you won't forget about us here on CA. Don't be silly, Redwood. Pam has to have somebody to share her puppy's milestones with, to brag about his superior intelligence to, tell about all the cute things he does, and share lots and lots of pictures with! And we are right here, all ready to do our duty - to ooh and aah and all that right and proper stuff. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26.
