Overaged Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I took this picture at our Church here where I live. These three angels are not animated or colored in any way; that is something I added to the artwork with some special software that I have. I built in each special little feature, color or timing of different scenes a special meaning that can be referenced from scripture. See how many scriptural meanings you can find/see in this picture. God often uses pictures/imagery to relate Biblical truths to us today. The Church that I attend is called Calgary Central Seventh-day Adventist Church; and their three angels depiction hanging on the wall of the front podium is in recollection and declaration of the Central truth of the gospel message. The Three Angel's Message. Does anyone know what The Three Angel's Message really is? What is the main message, of this message? Revelation 14:6, speaking of the first angel's message calls it "the everlasting gospel." Is this suggesting that it is a message that first started in Eden, and that goes all the way to Christ's Second Coming? All the way from Old Testament to New Testament? Does "everlasting" in this text, refer to always existing, or always in existence, or always will exist? "How readest thou?" "What think ye?" I would enjoy a review of this subject with anyone who is interested so let the comparison of notes begin. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ
skyblue888 Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Yes it is indeed the Everlasting Gospel of the merits of a crucified and risen Saviour. From Adam to Christ the people were to trust in the merits of a Saviour to come and from Christ to the end of time the people were to trust in the merits of a Saviour who had already come for "Christ is our propitiation through faith in His blood," (Rom.3:25) that is to say, "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf," (Steps to Christ, p.36) and, therefore, in all ages of the world, "The merits of a crucified and risen Saviour are the foundation of the Christian's faith." The Great Controversy, p.73. This faith has a direct bearing with the commandments of God for it is "the faith that lays right hold upon the merits of the blood of a crucified and risen Savior to bring Christ's righteousness into your life" (F.W.65) and "Christ's righteousness accomplishes everything,"(F.W.27) for "His righteousness is made manifest in obedience to all the commandments of God." T.M.92. Where is His righteousness? "All Your commandments are righteousness." Psalm 119:172. Received as the voice of God speaking to the soul in promise, they impart power, they beget life. They bring the very life of the Infinite One, transforming the nature and re-creating the soul in the image of God. And the life thus imparted is in like manner sustained, by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Thus we read, "The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of shekels of gold and silver." Psalm 119:72. This, we are told, is the third angel's message in clear, distinct lines. See T.M.93. And it is to be proclaimed with a loud voice and attended with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in large measure. Ibid, 92. "Looking unto Jesus and trusting in His merits we appropriate the blessings of light and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." Testimonies, Vol.5, p.744. sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.

Dr. Rich Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I find is rather sad that people actually believe that the three angels message(s) is a message what the SDA church alleges to have been giving now for a long time. Problem is, the events that are to take place prior to this message has not even happened yet. And NO, the "Hour of His Judgment" has NOT come yet! What EGW thought and said was totally wrong and we are wrong to keep following after this false teaching like blind lemmings. We are not to leave our brains at the door--lets use them and be honest with this issue for a change! Quote
Guest Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 This is why you are not an SDA, because you preach something totally foreign to adventism. Unless you can come up with something biblical, instead of just slandering Ellen White and Paul, I'll stay a Seventh Day Adventist. But thanks anyway. Quote
Dr. Rich Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Richard, yes it may be foreign to Adventism, but it is what Jesus gave us in the bible. If I am slandering anyone then you will have to prove their message was the truth. This you can't do. EGW and Joseph Smith were preaching things that were just not true. Many Adventists agree with me on this. You can't have the three angels message be given before the sealing of the 144,000, can you? Anyway you look at it, she was totally wrong about this--that is unless the 144,000 have already been sealed--and I don't believe they have been as of today. Now it's your turn to present your evidence against what I said. Quote
Guest Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 You can't have the three angels message be given before the sealing of the 144,000, can you? Why not? The judgment started in 1844. Your doctrine doesn't even warrant the wasted time of an argument to anyone who knows their Bible. 1Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to deceitful spirits, and doctrines of demons; Quote
Dr. Rich Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Are you actually telling me that the 144,000 have already been sealed? Wow! Can you show me one of them--or name one? Come on Richard, lets not play around with this. Either they have been sealed or they haven't and the third angels message has not been given yet. You can't have it both ways! Do you also believe that the 'hour of His Judgment has come'? If so, then that hour is sure taking a long time! Quote
Guest Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Nobody is sealed yet. And if you believed the sanctuary doctrine you would know that the judgment started in 1844. You're so whacky that it's not worth arguing. You're not SDA, simple as that. If I went to the catholics and said: I'm a catholic, but you guys are wrong about the Sabbath, and you're wrong about the state of the dead, and you're wrong to worship Mary. Etc, etc. Do you think they would believe I was catholic? Well that's exactly how you sound when you call yourself SDA. Quote
Dr. Rich Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Richard, you have no understanding on what a true Seventh day Adventist is. I am working on a project right now and it has caused me to take a long look at the history of Adventists and just who they are and what they really stand for. I can show you from the beginning that Adventists were truth seekers and ever searching for the real truth. Miller and those around him knew that they did not have all of the truth and kept studying and found what they thought was an important issue. It was the issue on Jesus' coming that led this group to search out for themselves what was true or not. Interestingly, this all was prophesied about by Jesus and found in Dan. 2, Matthew 21:43 and Matthew 25. In fact, once you dig into the history you will see that those who were searching for this truth had to be stopped by Satan or they probably would have been ready, which God knew they wouldn't be, because this group thought they were the bride and the only ones that were going to be saved. When it didn't happen, people were looking for excuses and one of them was that this event was when Jesus went into the most holy place to start the judgment. Problem is, the fifth bowl had not been poured out yet and neither had the incense been thrown down to the earth, which is the event when the judgment begins. And they forgot to read Hebrews 1:3 I guess. Excuses were being made for many things and interestingly again, EGW would have a vision and low and behold, people would stop their study and simply give up by saying that IF she heard it from God, then that is what must be the truth. History shows us that many of the well known leaders would caution her and warn her that her visions did not agree with what was written in the bible, but she refused to heed their warning. (Rev. 2:21) Clearly, James and Ellen were being made famous and became rich because of all of the books that were being sold in the name of 'THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY'. I do not have the time or space to write everything that I have found regarding the life and times of Ellen G. White. Others have done a very good job on this and have been forced out of the church for their efforts. Verse 22 of Revelation is very important because it actually states that those who refuse to repent will be put into the great tribulation. This proves that these are those who are alive today and refuse to give up her teachings, will go into the tribulation--therefor meaning that this message is for the Kingdom of Heaven today--and not some mere warning for something that happened in history. If you can't, then stop spreading other people's lies. That's really all you're doing, is repeating lies that you've heard in other places, and read on the anti EGW websites. You have no foundation for any of it. Just like on the other thread, when I asked you to show me where she said some outlandish thing you claimed she said. All you did was throw out an anti Ellen White website. If that's the best you can do when someone calls you on something, then you really should just stop! What you're doing is more than just dishonest. Quote

Moderators John317 Posted March 6, 2010 Moderators Posted March 6, 2010 .... you have no understanding on what a true Seventh day Adventist is. The main purpose of the SDA church is to accept, practice, and proclaim the Three Angels Messages. What do you believe those messages are? Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Robert Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Does anyone know what The Three Angel's Message really is? Not that I always agree with EGW, but here I do: "Several have written to me, inquiring if the message of justification by faith is the third angel's message, and I have answered, "It is the third angel's message in verity." Review and Herald, April 1, 1890. Verity: "Something (as a statement) that is especially true" Quote
Musicman1228 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 If no one is yet sealed then the order of events within the prophecy in Rev. 7 and Rev. 14:1-5 has also not yet been fulfilled; therefore the Three Angels Messages cannot possibly have already given as of today. These Three messages occur only after the beginning of the Great Tribulation. In Rev. 7 it is clear that the 144.000 are sealed before the Great Tribulation begins (even EGW says that). Since this is true then it must also be true that the Seven Trumpets (the first of which begins the Tribulation) cannot possibly have occurred yet, because as yet NO ONE has been sealed. EGW states categorically in GC - p.433 that the Seventh Trumpet sounded in 1844. If this is true then the 144,000 must have been sealed before then. If they were sealed before 1844 then they are all dead now, and there will be no one who knows the truth during the 'Time of the End'. Either God is correct in what He stated in Revelation about the 144,000 or EGW is correct in what she stated in GC-p.433. Both cannot be true. Since God cannot be in error the only conclusion must be that EGW was wrong. If you are a 'solid' SDA then you will have a difficult time with this conflict. However, if you are honest you must at least take a very close look at the prophecy in Rev. and what EGW said about it and make a decision based on the facts not on an emotional attachment to an individual human being, no matter who that is. One final thing: how could judgement begin in 1844 if judgement is already completed because of the sounding of the Seventh Trumpet (Rev.11:15-19). The Seventh Trumpet marks the END of judgement on earth not the beginning of judgement. Quote
Musicman1228 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 According to Jesus Christ the everlasting gospel is the 'gospel of the Kingdom', not justification by faith. Ref. Matt. 24:14. Again, choose whom you believe. Quote

Robert Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 We agree on this Robert, except I realize the law has not been done away with, which is what you believe. No, but in order to save you from the law your life came to and end in the life of Christ as the Son of God and the Son of man. Hence, you were delivered from the law. As far as the law is concerned you are dead....Therefore it requires nothing of you. Now, if you don't buy that, then go back under law.....I can guarantee you that you want make it to heaven under law. Quote

What is the gospel of the kingdom Musicman? Can you define it? Or is it just a catchy phrase? Congratulation, Richard, you have finally asked a good question in an appropriate, non-threatening manner. I like this Richard better than the other one. Sorry about the length, but a good question demands a complete answer, so here goes. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matt.24:14. Here Jesus does not say anything about the 'gospel of Jesus', or the 'different gospel' wherein you are saved by grace through faith. Jesus speaks of the good news of the Kingdom of Heaven. The reason that God brought Israel out of Egypt was that He needed a Kingdom ON earth that was not OF the world so that this Kingdom would be prepared in righteousness to take the message of truth to the world. This truth was that the whole earth needed to be filled with the righteousness of God. But truly, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD. Num. 14:21. This is accomplished by a Kingdom that knows the truth of God and lives it. The nations of the world would then observe the fact that this Kingdom was being cared for in a supernatural way by the powerful God of Creation. The nations of the world would want a piece of this action and would flock to this Kingdom with the desire to learn righteousness so they also could reap the benefits of being in the Kingdom. This is how the Glory of the Lord would eventually fill the entire earth. This was the method by which God would restore righteousness to the earth. As you looked, a stone was cut out by no human hand, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. But the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever, just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. Dan.2:34,35,44,45. This method was perfect and would have worked had the people whom God had chosen to inhabit His Kingdom not failed in the one thing that was required of them, that is obedience to the will/Law of God. God established his Kingdom by Covenant at Sinai. This Covenant was the 10 Commandments. And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments, and he wrote them on two tablets of stone. Deut. 4:13. In fact, this people failed twice to accomplish the purpose for which God established the Kingdom. The second time God even sent His Son to act as the guide so that the Kingdom would understand their role and fulfill it. But in the end the people with whom God inhabited His Kingdom chose the king of this world (Satan) as their god, by declaring that Satan's representative was their king. They cried out, “Away with him, away with him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.” John 19:15. Jesus told Nicodemus how to be saved and the function of the Kingdom Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:5-6. So, the gospel of the Kingdom is that a person must be INSIDE the Kingdom to be saved. A person cannot gain entry into the Kingdom by adoption, or as a slave to sin, or by simply declaring that they have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Anyone that wishes to gain entry into the Kingdom of Heaven MUST be born into that Kingdom as legitimate son and daughter of God. This means that they must have the same birth parents as does their elder brother, Jesus Christ. The gospel of the Kingdom is NOT the gospel that says that one must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and accept His salvation by grace through faith, and accept His robe of righteousness as covering their filthy rags. And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. Luke 1:35. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. Matt.1:20. And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne. Rev.12:1,5. Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Rev.12:17. The gospel of the Kingdom is that to be save one must be IN the Kingdom of Heaven. The SDA church has had a great opportunity given them that so far we have squandered. We have been preaching the gospel according to Paul when we should have been preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ which is the gospel of the Kingdom. God established the SDA church in 1844 as the Kingdom of Heaven into which all nations, kindreds, tongues and peoples must enter in order to be saved. The SDA church was established upon the exact same Covenant that God set for His original Kingdom, and just like them we have gone away from God's plan and tried to accomplish God's purpose for us in our own way, and by our own power. We are the 10 sleeping bridesmaids in the prophecy in Matt.25:1-13. Our church, the Kingdom of Heaven, is sound asleep, just as Jesus said it would be just before the end of time. We ARE the Kingdom of Heaven, yet we are terrified of being embarrassed again as we were in 1844. So rather than proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom to the world as we have been charged to do by God when HE established the church as the Kingdom, we whimper and whine and complain to God that since He didn't come when WE said He would we can now no longer count on Him to come when HE says He will. God IS NOT waiting for the SDA church organization to get its act together and wake up. He has already begun the work of waking up His groomsmen, the 144.000 from within the totality of the SDA church around the world. He will even bring in from the outside the church those who have committed to the Covenant who will be SDA's but without taking the name. They will also be a part of the 144,000 and the five wise bridesmaids that will go in with Him to the wedding feast, and then move forward into the Great Tribulation with the truth about the Kingdom that will bring the vast multitude before the Throne of God around the sea of glass. Those that do not realize who they are and what God has called them to do will be left standing outside the door to the marriage feast, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth. This because they will finally have realized their error, but by then it will be too late for them. Quote
