wayfinder Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Quote: Let's not be found to be sleeping at that time! Or off on some wild goose chase, setting time prophecies and teaching things that are not in the Bible. While ignoring things that are. Quote: When taken all together, Dan. 2's Rock, Matthew 24's ONE head of the household, and Matthew 25's ten virgin prophecy, and then Rev. 2 and 3's messages to this Kingdom of Heaven while here on this earth just before Jesus comes, the evidence clearly points to the SDA church as this KOH Could you show how that works, because none of these texts you have listed actually give any identifying marks that point to the SDA church. The message to the Laodiceans, I believe points out the condition of the SDA church, but still there are no distinguishing marks. There are some texts that do distinguish the SDAs from the rest of the world, but none of them are the texts you mentioned. Revelation 3:3 'So remember what you have received and heard ; and keep it, and repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you. The coming of the Bridegroom, in Matthew 25, was like a thief to the ten bridesmaids. The midnight cry is "the Bridegroom is here come out to meet Him", it is obvious that the coming of the Bridegroom did no awaken the ten sleeping bridesmaids. This is the connection that shows that the assembly in Sardis and the ten sleeping bridesmaids are the same group, that and both groups are asleep. Quote
Dr. Rich Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 ok, so if Sardis and Matthew 25's ten virgins is about the same people, then this event would be before they go to heaven-right? Therefore what oldsailor replied with could not possible be 100% correct even tho I tend to agree that the Kingdom eventually ends up in heaven. And how could the good and faithful servant that is left in charge of the Masters House be the Holy Spirit? Where is it found that the Holy Spirit was ever called a 'servant'? AND-why would the verse say "it will be good for him to be feeding the fellow servants at that time" if this servant was the Holy Spirit? Is it the Holy Spirit's job to send out the three angel's message? I don't think so?? Quote

Ok, assuming the parable about the bridesmaids is somehow connected to the church in Sardis. This points to SDAs how? Quote
Dr. Rich Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Richard, how come you wrote that the prophecy in Matthew 25 was just a parable? Did not you read "At that time (time of the coming like a thief), the Kingdom of Heaven WILL be LIKE..." What is it that you don't understand about "At that time" and "Will be Like"? This is totally NOT a parable--it is a prophecy about the SDA Church! Jesus explained it in a way that was understood by the disciples. But then, I should give a warning here, that none of the wicked will understand this, only the wise will. (Dan. 12:10) Quote
Guest Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Rich you kill me when you refer to yourself as one of the wise in Dan 12. You have totally perverted the prophecies of Dan, yet you believe you're one of the wise who understands them. Tell me why "At that time" and "Will be Like" turns a parable into a prophecy. Verse 14 says: For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. Is that a prophecy too? And what about this one? Mat 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man who sowed good seed in his field: It's a story used to illustrate and simplify truth. The one about the man who sowed good seed is just as true as the one about the ten virgins. Quote
Musicman1228 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Richard, To you the words of Jesus will always only be 'good stories' that hold some kind of spiritual truth. Your view of Jesus is that He is not a prophet, and His words hold no meaning other than those of truthful aphorisms. They are merely words to live by, not words to look forward too. To you His words are not enough in and of themselves to be able to find the 'narrow way' to eternal life. This makes it possible for you to identify an "End Time Prophet" who's words supersede those of Jesus, because (in your way of thinking) Jesus did not give His disciples all of the prophecy they needed, so He had to send someone(s) else to clarify what He did not make clear while He was on earth. This is your excuse to believe EGW over the words of Jesus. You believe that Jesus did not give His disciples and Daniel and John in Revelation everything we would need to know to successfully negotiate the rocks and shoals of end time events. This gives credence to EGW, because she gave the SDA church the 'rest of the story' that Jesus failed to deliver to the church while He was on earth. Does this description sound reasonable to you? Is this the way it really is? Quote
Guest Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 MM, when you can read my mind, then you can say what something is to me, and what you think I believe. But until that day, please just stick to slandering Paul and Ellen White. And putting your own misguided interpretation on scripture. People who study can easily prove you wrong there. But when you start saying what you think I believe, I'm afraid sombody might believe you. And why is it that you hold one parable to be a prophecy, and all the rest of them are just parables? Actually I believe there is prophetic value in all of the parables, not just one of them. Quote
Musicman1228 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 If you believe in the prophetic value of ALL of the parables then you certainly express it in a funny way. I don't hold only ONE parable as prophecy I hold all of them as such, and you know it. I have never slandered either you or Paul or EGW. Truth is never slanderous. When you or they speak lies as if it is the truth I will point it out, whether you like it or not. But I have never done this in a way that would cause most people to take it as a personal attack. You do so, because you are so SURE of yourself, that you CAN"T be wrong that when I suggest anything different you take it as if I am against you personally. I am not. I don't know you personally, and if I did I'd probably like you, as I am certain you would me. I don't have to read your mind as to what you think, you do a fine job of expressing yourself. All I have done is give what you have said to me back to you. What you say may not be what I hear, and I just try to make sure I understand you correctly. I always know you will correct any misinterpretation I make about what you have said. So if the parables of Jesus are indeed prophecy (as we both believe) then please give me your interpretation of the Wheat and Tares in a prophetic light. Thanks. Quote
Dr. Rich Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Sure Richard, let me help you here. The verses you gave about the KOH was NOT in the future as is Matthew 25. There is a BIG difference between "is" and "at that time". Now do you feel better? Quote
Musicman1228 Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Here is the connection between Matt. 25 and Sardis in Rev. 3: “‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you. Rev.3:1-3. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ Matt.25;5-8. God warns His church (Sardis) that if they don't wake up He will come as a thief and they won't know when He will come against them. This is a serious warning of retribution against those that do not know (or believe that they cannot know) when the Master is to return. In the prophecy of the 10 bridesmaids ALL of them went to sleep (EGW says the 5 foolish went to sleep and the 5 wise just got drowsy). When they were asleep the Bridegroom came, hence the midnight cry that woke all 10 bridesmaids up. They were all asleep and missed the coming of the Bridegroom 'as a thief'. The connection is obvious because of the specific language used, i.e. sleeping and waking up, and coming like a thief. Quote
Dr. Rich Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Thanks MM, but remember that this coming like a thief is not the same event as the coming in the clouds when all 7 trumpets have been sounded. The event for Sardis and Matthew 25's virgins, them being the same group, is before the time of trouble, therefore it does appear that probation would be up for this group before the numberless multitude that comes out of the time of trouble. Man, you gotta believe this is going to really make some people super mad when this happens! I mean, them thinking and believing that they have been born again and saved by grace and all and then having the door shut on them. WOW! MM and wayfinder, if you think they are mad at 'us' now for presenting this information, this is NOTHING like what we will see when this actually happens! Quote
