Members phkrause Posted August 19, 2010 Members Posted August 19, 2010 Why don't we reserve our distrust for people that are actually doing suspicious things? And who would those be Sivart? Not disagreeing with you, but how does someone pick who is suspicious and who's not? You might be 100% not suspicious to me but you could be to some else. I have friends that I know are good people but yet other people are suspicious of this one or that one. It comes down to, do you know this person or not. If you do your not suspicious and if you don't than they are. Its not easy to tell. Unfortunetly most are very suspicious of Muslims at this point in history, just as much as people were suspicious of Christians many years ago. And don't forget the old Yugoslavia, where Muslims, Christians and (I forgot the other group now) but obviously they were and probably will be suspicious of each other for years to come. Members phkrause Posted August 19, 2010 Members Posted August 19, 2010 I bet that if they were building a strip club at the coat factory site, nobody would be complaining... LOL your probably right about that. But not everywhere. Here in Mass they wanted to put a mall that would've had a part of it in Lancaster, but the residents of Lancaster found out that they wanted to put a strip club in it, so they rejected the mall and they had to put it somewhere else. DeeAnna Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 The true Islamic religion is one that practices Sharia law. If you know anything about what Sharia law is .....I don't see how you can bear the thought of it being tolerated or practiced by anyone in this country. Our Constitution protects us against this.....so far. Emphasis on ....SO FAR. If you believe that the Muslims have a religion of peace...........you should read about what they really believe. Fathers who carry out honor killings, husbands who cut off the nose of their daughter because she wanted to leave home, etc....this is Sharia law. I find the acceptance of all this Muslim acceptance so repugnant. Call me prejudice or whatever you want, but their religion is contrary to God's teachings. The belief that they are a peaceful and loving religion is a deception. We are told in the Bible, "be not deceived". Quote
SivartM Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 If we tell the Muslims what they are supposed to believe as Muslims, do they get to tell Christians what to believe? jasd Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 >>Some people say the only true Christians believe in the pope.<< Others say that the Remnant and numbered of Gd - believe in EGW. Sooo? Let's not forget, as apparently they have, that this is OUR country - and for the most part - they dwell here at will. That means, accepting our mores - and leaving theirs, largely, back home. When they have paid their dues - then they might be heard. Until then, let them be silent and cease their pushing at us and our sensitivities. If they want to "build bridges", let them begin from whence they emigrated..., but I guess they'd have to go back home to do that, eh? :( Quote

jasd Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 >>So not everyone in a given religion are the same.<< Do the math: how many are two percent (the bruited percentage of Islam who are practicing terrorists) of 1.2 billion?—give or take, that represents a few, yes? I’d say more than a few!—too many, in and out of our country on any given visa or illegal means – practicing their brand of religiosity. Sooo? What does the Quran teach re aggressive acts against the infidel? Upon that they must agree – else they are not [“given”] Muslims, but in name only. >>This is America. Land of the free and home of the brave.<< Exactly, not a land wherein buffalo and subversives roam - under unclouded skies... >>Not land of the intolerant...<< Oh, please!—from the snarkism re papism and Catholicism...! >>...and home of the scared.<< Discern, goodfella – the difference between the “scared” and the incensed. Quote: Quote:jasd That means, accepting our mores - and leaving theirs back home. >>That sounds more like Cuba than America.<< ...don’t give a rat’s fundament what it sounds like. I’d feel a bit better if Muslims weren’t on a Quran-inspired holy jihad against the infidel; that is, against me and mine. Writ advises the wise to be prepared and armed, which would include the intellect, as well the scabbard. Presently, Muslims so mind their Ps and Qs that in Britain they now sue the equivalent of our Boxing Commission because they refuse to shave their beards under the rules and guidelines of boxing in the Isles... What’s that say? Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted August 20, 2010 Members Posted August 20, 2010 Oh yes. Let us all be tolllllerant. It's the Christian way. Be tolerant and clap and laugh when beheading becomes part and parcel of our justice system.....the Honorable Sheik bin Laden, presiding. Bow low before his Majesty!!! - oh. sorry. We've already done that. @ SivartM: The muslim world already tells Christians what to believe. You've bought into it lock, stock, and barrel. And they are laughing all the way back home. I'm surely glad that God was tolerant of the Amalekites and Canaanites. oh. sorry. I guess He wasn't. Silly me. Dr. Shane Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Muslims have been building mosques in the US for a long time. It is of some interest to me that President Bush prevented this type of anti-Muslim propaganda from being wide spread after 9/11 but for some reason, President Obama cannot. I don't know about your God, guys and gals...But my God is able to keep me in peace and His perfect love casts out my fear.....I don't fear Islam... I see posts that express fear and hatred..."Let them pay thier dues" type posts are not of Christianity....rather, it's a reflection of the little 'c' in christianity...These are the guys that insist that faith in God, love for Country and keeping your gun clean are the only sure things in this world. If your religion is so much better, where is your religion? Truth be told, i don't see it in your posts... So let me ask one more thing..... ...if your religion is better than all the others, and you know it to be true, how come you can not reflect the love of God in your posts? Dr. Shane Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 If the admin was still a GB, he could be reacting in the same way and not get near the grief, I would suspect. The right wing conservatives are the ones that seem to be making all the noise. If Bush was still in the White House, he would call them in and tell them to cut it out. He did that a couple of times as President. They didn't always listen to him, but by doing that, he polarized them. President Obama has Muslim heritage. He could use that heritage to give him credibility in condemning extremist Islam and at the same time defending moderate Islam. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... jasd Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 >>If we do not stand up for others, who will stand up for us, when we become the object of fear?<< When has it become unfashionable to not stand for ourselves? The object of fear?—us?—here? You’re not paying attention. >>'Our' country? Pay your 'dues'? Become like us?<< Indeed – else why come here? Otherwise, it’s an exercise in futility. >>This whole 'mosque' thing is certainly showing up our fears.<< Fears?—c’mon, get real. How about whizzed-off? Ring a bell?—mebbe not. >>I wonder what the American/Japanese of WW 2 are feeling once again?<< Prob’ly nothin’ – were Republicans in power. They were raped by progressive, empathic Democrats. >>Fear seems to drive out the clear headed thinking of people.<< As someone else might note: you’re the go-to guy for “clear headed thinking”? >>No, it is not just about being 'near' ground zero,<< It is a measured 600-ft from Ground Zero. The length of two football fields. Less than a two-minute walk. The distance to the site of the proposed mosque from Ground Zero is less than that from one end of the destroyed WTC site to the other. The purchasing cost, post 2001, for that bit of Real Estate was 1/4th its original appraisal – before the landing gear from one of the airliners which flew into the WTC – diminished its value. For me and my house the parameters of Ground Zero extend from the Eastern Sea to the Hinder Sea, from the Southern river to the end of the earth, that Great State Alaska – where we are eyeball to eyeball with USSRed (“I can see Russia from my house.”) – further, including the Hawaiian Islands, Guam, and our other possessions... >>Muslims are having trouble through out the country when it comes to building Mosque's.<< You forget that the FBI found them to be sourcing Muslim terrorists with dollar$ collected through their mosques in America. That is the sort of thing I have against them. Anyway, there are more than 100 mosques in NYC alone. You want to talk about trouble getting permission to build a mosque in NYC – refer to discussions re the St Nicholas Greek Orthodox church that was actually damaged by debris from the attack on the WTC. THEY cannot get permission to rebuild! >>'Christianity' has had more than its fair share of 'terrorism' through history. To continue to fear Muslims because of the actions of extremist, is to show ignorance of all their beliefs.<< Indeed; however, ask yourself – what were Muslims doing in European Córdoba? As far as “fear Muslims” goes – how about you read the Quran and discover their overriding belief of Dar al-Garb. It is not time for America to be compassionate, weak, and gullible vis-à-vis those whose holy belief is in war – against The Great Satan! You’ve seen them demonstrating on Television. They represent the majority in each separate country – anyone asserting otherwise is not being truthful. >>Reminds me of the fear we once taught about Catholics.<< Still do. >>I don't think this type of thinking is going to stop, but only grow.<< For your children’s sake – you’d better hope – or else America will become what Europe is fast-becoming; that is, part of a Caliphate. >>Politics has found an issue they can use to keep the emotions and fears of the public stirred up.<< You have a problem with “fear” in your craw, yes? >>Religion will try to combine with that rhetoric their belief of what is 'right' and urge the government to impose more laws for the 'safety' of the American way, equating it with Gods way.<< Whose talking fear? Gd Bless America! Quote

Remember, Ibn Ishaq said that Muhammad, himself (the prophet), killed 900 Jews – in one day. Others place the figure between 600-700. Peace, as the peace of the grave. >>Your religion doesn't espouse violence to achieve it means?<< Mine demands it – for purposes more noble than simply for a ruling Caliphate. >>Forgotten history.....already or selective memory!<< Ahh, unfortunately, I live presently – and therein lies my concern...
