Overaged Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Gerry; If I am not mistaken, I think you are a Doctor? Well, how would you tell a patient like Woody that they do not serve food at KFC? It is something else by the time they get done with it!! Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Overaged Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Just for the record, nothing I posted re the chicken thing was intended in any sort of personal way to any one individual here participating in this thread. My sole intention was to draw attention to how misunderstood "apostasy" has actually become in Christian circles. And for once, I would agree with one sentence posted by cardw; how that if we attach "disobedience" to "apostasy" and make our own set of rules about same, equating said rules to "disobedieince" hence, apostasy then we have misunderstood it. I shouldn't have been so hard on Tom a few pages ago about this; but again, my point was that if everyone who left the church was "apostate" that creates a whole set of problems, well beyond the scope of this thread. That all being said; I would still say that the LSU thing was/is an example of apostasy. Some are apparently trying to do something about it, others are digging their heels in. Not even everyone in the Roman Catholic Church are "apostate." Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ
Overaged Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 One does not know how much of a personality a chicken has until someone has one for a pet. We seem not to attach a character to what we are deep frying or eating. LOL, apparently, chickens make great pets Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Overaged Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I have a friend who had a pet rooster and even brought it to school with her. LOL; I could tell y'all a really nasty little story about this pet duck I once had...decided to bring it to church one Sabbath for a children's story "illustration." DON'T EVER DO THAT PEOPLE!! I am almost positive that someone labelled me as "apostate" or "heathen" after that. Well; you see, I brought rabbits, a goat, and some other stuff....I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT CHILDREN'S STORY, until...... Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Moderators Gerr Posted March 20, 2011 Moderators Posted March 20, 2011 You come up with the cutest pictures! Ever tried balut? Quote
Moderators Gerr Posted March 20, 2011 Moderators Posted March 20, 2011 R U tooting oldaged? Tooting? What does that have to do with it? I know what that means when my son talks about our grand-children tooting. Quote
Woody Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 well SOMEone is tooting. I am just not sure who. perhaps overaged can clarify that. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. Â
Overaged Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Ha ha, well lets just say the duck had a SERIOUS accident. At first, I had no idea what happened till I saw the kids pointing and going: "eeew." It's an odd thing. I have never been asked to do children's story again. That was an evil duck Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Overaged Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I have never heard of "balut." What is that? Usually; there is great meaning behind all the pictures I post. I always have a specific reason for posting them. I was surprised that no one asked me about the Vatican clip I posted. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Woody Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 well for some reason I sense we have veered off the road from La Sierra just a bit. But who gives a root toot toot. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. Â
Woody Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I have never heard of "balut." What is that? a Philippine volcano Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. Â
Moderators Gerr Posted March 20, 2011 Moderators Posted March 20, 2011 I have never heard of "balut." What is that? Woody didn't get it quite right. Balut is a cooked duck egg that is probably 1-2 weeks short of hatching. It is a delicacy in Southern Luzon (Philippines). I was curious what balut was, so I bought one. When I saw the chick with feathers and all inside, I became squeamish and that was that. Quote
Overaged Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 LOL; Oh, I see! I would share your squeemishness to be sure! I guess we can comfort ourselves with the fact that atleast Woody eats his without the feathers! Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Stan Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 Seems to me while ducks are often considered clean in North America, they are not considered clean in the Philippines is that correct? Dr. Shane Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I have met a lot of member in Latin America that think ducks are unclean too but they are not listed as an unclean bird in the Bible. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
