Overaged Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 The name God gave them then, "christians". The name God instructed us to use today is Seventh-day Adventist. "There are a lot of people who mis-use Ellen White's writings." I keep hearing that, but I rarely see it in real life. I think it tends to be a "web thing". This is when they were first called "Christian." Act 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. What about before this? It's interesting that you have never personally seen Ellen White's writings mis-used; lol, I guess thats possible. I see it all the time. I don't really look for it; just something I noticed. Havent you ever heard things like "We are told...." or "Sister white says;" when some are talking about "biblical topics?" They usually do this without any kind of reference to the Bible. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ
