"Counterfeit holiness, spurious sanctification, is still doing its work of deception. Under various forms it exhibits the same spirit as in the days of Luther, diverting minds from the Scriptures and leading men to follow their own feelings and impressions rather than to yield obedience to the law of God. This is one of Satan's most successful devices to cast reproach upon purity and truth."(Great Controversy 1911 edition, page 193) The Public Library has free internet access computers for those that give everything away. . . Robert Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 They (speaking of the leadership of the SDA Church around 1888) do not in Spirit represent Christ. They are surface workers, and delude themselves with the idea that they are christians. So effectually does this delusion take possession of heart and mind that the sharp arrows of the Lord fail to penetrate the armor of self righteousness in which they are encased. The spell is so strong that they will listen to the truth, the most earnest and powerful, even to the very portraying of the delusions which are upon them without any thought of self-examination to see if it means them. This is the class our Saviour found most difficult to arouse. The most authoritative teachings were heard and listened to as if they heard not. Thus it is with many, many in this generation. There will be a hatred kindled against the testimonies which is satanic. The workings of Satan will be to unsettle the faith of the churches in them for this reason: Satan cannot have so clear a track to bring in his deceptions and bind up souls in his delusions if the warnings and reproofs and counsels of the spirit of God are heeded [1888 796.1] According to Ellen White the number one problem within the church is Pharisaism. Gibs Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Bro. Robert, if Jesus had of changed His testimony of "If you love me keep may commandments" He would have come and admitted He does change and Paul tells us -- Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. If we could not trust His Word because He kept changing His testimony then you might have a case, as it stands you do not. I stand by my statement, continue in sin and Bro. one is back under the law, it sure does condemn and His spirit let's you know it too unless He is grieved away. It stands as long as the lawgiver does and that is eternity. When we are dead to sin we are alive in Him, soon though as we transgress we are dead, yes dead back in sin. Ro 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. All need be converted and become a new man in Him or we will die in our sins. Sin no more? Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. No the law isn't against love but is of love, it is of God and God is love. All His Jewels when He gets them made up will all be overcomers you can bet your bottom or top dollar on that one. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Robert Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I stand by my statement, continue in sin and Bro. one is back under the law, it sure does condemn .... Then you are under law because you are not living Christ's life! You must die.... Quote
Robert Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 continue in sin and Bro. one is back under the law, the law... Gal 3:10 For all who rely on the works of the law (salvation by law) are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” You belong to the OC, Gibs. You are what Paul would term a Judaizer, except that you are not a Jew. You're more like a Roman Catholic on steroids. Verse 11 Now that no man is justified by the law before God, is evident: for, "The just by faith shall live" You see I have been justified by faith in the doing & dying of Christ. I shall gain eternal life by faith. I am just because my humanity died in Christ Jesus. I am positively righteous in Him. You, on the other hand, reject this. Hence the law will be your judge. And in the judgment you will be found wanting. You will receive the curse of the law (goodbye to life forever) because you are too proud to rest in Christ's finished work. Quote
Gibs Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Read and understand the followiong verses, we are all judged by the Royal law, the law of His Majesty. Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. Jas 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. Jas 2:14 ¶ What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Gibs Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Here is the right look into this discussion. "Christ imputes His perfection and righteousness to the believing sinner when he does not continue in sin, but turns from transgression to obedience of the commandments. {FLB 115.3} While God can be just, and yet justify the sinner through the merits of Christ, no man can cover his soul with the garments of Christ's righteousness while practicing known sins, or neglecting known duties. {FLB 115.4} The apostle James saw that dangers would arise in presenting the subject of justification by faith, and he labored to show that genuine faith cannot exist without corresponding works. The experience of Abraham is presented. "Seest thou," he says, "how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?" James 2:22. Thus genuine faith does a genuine work in the believer. Faith and obedience bring a solid, valuable experience. {FLB 115.5} Faith and works are two oars which we must use equally if we [would] press our way up the stream against the current of unbelief. {FLB 115.6} The so-called faith that does not work by love and purify the soul will not justify any man. "Ye see," says the apostle, "how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." James 2:24. Abraham believed God. How do we know that he believed? His works testified to the character of his faith, and his faith was accounted to him for righteousness. We need the faith of Abraham in our day, to lighten the darkness that gathers around us, shutting out the sweet sunlight of God's love, and dwarfing spiritual growth. Our faith should be prolific of good works; for faith without works is dead. (FLB 115.7) 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ

Robert Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Ellen White is not the final word. On matters of salvation we must use the Bible. Ellen White is fallible, God's word is infallible. Quote
Gibs Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 When we speak of the "Royal Law" and "The Law of Liberty" we speak of the same, Gods Holy Law of which perhaps not in total was given to Moses but a plenty that none need misunderstand and worded to man. Those who do not trasgress it are at liberty, as there is nothing outside of it they want to do and so are totally free within it. This is what it means to be a free man in Christ. We must come to that place to be a candidate for His Kingdom. No of course we are not justified by the law, we are justied when we surrender and repent. Ac 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Yes the law condemns of sin and the unrepentent and unforgiven sinner is sentenced to die by it. That is why one cannot continue in sin as chances are you will have one you died before you truly repented of it. But don't you know after a while He sees you have no intention of putting away that coveted sin, do you think you will be forgiven? You must see we are the one actually casting ourselves away from His Eternal Kingdom. Sin must be gotten the victory over in this probationary life and that is why He states, Re 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Is not that concrete enough for one to see the truth of this? Take an unforgiven sin to the grave and you will be hurt of the second death for sure. Now is Ellen White wrong? We all know she is not, not on the subject of salvation, you better sit up and pay attention for sure. 1Jo 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 1Jo 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 1Jo 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. LifeHiscost Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Quote: People often regard the Ten Commandments as a code of rules first handed down at Mount Sinai. They are actually a timeless love letter from God to all His creation: "I want to be the most important love in your life (1) because nothing I have made can equal the love and happiness I can give. (2) I want you to love Me for who I am, (3) because I made you and showed you how best to enjoy life by setting aside a special time for us to be together. (4) You are My child (5) and I want you to value all my children as I do. (6) I will provide for all that you need (7) and even create for you the perfect best friend. (8) I want you to be so happy that you'll tell everyone the truth about me (9) and not worry about lacking anything. Trust me. (10)" Most excellent way of putting and seeing it. LifeHiscost Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Quote: No, but the law requires the 2nd death to those who aren't producing pure agape. That is why those who seek after Jesus are imputed with the righteousness of Jesus Christ as well as imparted as they take hold of the promises and resist the evil one. "You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. Gibs Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Yes all will be judged by it, His Law, and you are under the law if continuing in sin, no way out of it. When the law is in your heart you keep it from love, but if you don't have the kind of love it takes and you sin it proves you don't really have that true love. It is that simple. Those who say they have this true love to Him need to show it by their faith and then works in Him. The faith and Love does the works joyfully! There is no tyrant in God, there is no tyranny in love, If you have the true love it takes the law is in no way a tyranny to you. What it is WE do what WE love to do if still carnally minded with a carnal heart. Until that WE, SELF is killed we will continue in sin as the carnal mind and heart still rules. He who sins then is not yet truly converted and can't see this until he is. Dead of the old man of sin born again in Him hating sin and loving to do only His Will and when we continue in Him we sin not. The carnal man cannot overcome sin nor does he care to, he must be born again to obtain the power and love of Christ and then he can be victorious. Yes, we can know we have come to the right relationship with Him when we have come to HATE sin and LOVE to do His Will and find the true peace and joy by walking in Him and He in you. It is easy now for us to walk with God as Enoch did, every moment of every day your mind heart and spirit is with Him and you sin not. How can you wrest loose from Him and rebell and go do a sin? You cannot unless one is a devil! No matter what you are doing, He must be there with you and you with Him by spirit. Truly that is the happiness we all need. For what is now breaking upon man, that walk is an ablolute must or we will fall. We are at the brink of the last 3'1/2 yrs and it is possible that time is started as no man can tell exactly, but I know this it is at the doors Get ready, Get ready, He is calling all saints. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Gibs Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Robert, you know what the proof of that is don't you? When in Christ we sin not! Robert Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 When in Christ we sin not! No, the "in Christ" truth is what Christ did in our humanity. You had no contribution to this. All you can do is accept it by faith. Quote

Gibs Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Robert, I think I see that you do not believe Christ in you and He in you is of any benefit. Would you cheat on your wife in her presence? I think not. I'm sure you don't but just to point out, you would not in Christ's indwelling presence dwelve into sin either. Yes Jesus will dwell in you and be your strength, believe it, where is your faith? Our contribution is to surrender our all and hate our sin enough that in love for Him we desire to walk with Him and then He'll empower to do it. It is by faith and believing and knowing His is able. If His Spirit don't condemn one when they've committed a sin I'm afraid His Spirit may be grieved away. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
