Robert, however well-meaning you think to be, your posts sometimes are spiritually abusive of other people.

Jesus Christ is my boast Robert. Your question is not for me to answer, you will have to ask Him. My hope and strength is in Him and from Him. He is my all and all. I have come to hate sin and to love Him more each day is what I can tell you. I stay away from things and places I hate. I think you do the same. I could ask you if you hate sin but that is not my concern, I just hope you do and love Him more and more each day until you stay completly clear of it.

I care not to think evil of any man though I know there is many in our world. Christ is taking care of that and I see the finish of it close at hand.

I pray Jesus be with you in a special way and all who will come to Him.

Self-righteousness is spiritually abusive. Jesus didn't mince words, nor did Paul when dealing with individuals you pushed salvation by works.

Robert, I think I see that you do not believe Christ in you and He in you is of any benefit.

Our contribution is to surrender our all and hate our sin enough that in love for Him we desire to walk with Him and then He'll empower to do it. It is by faith and believing and knowing His is able.

If His Spirit don't condemn one when they've committed a sin I'm afraid His Spirit may be grieved away.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

To which the Word attests.

Okay, Jesus, is Gibs righteous - is he perfect?

Jesus: "There is only One who is good - that is, God" (Matt 19:17)

Did you know that Jesus Christ hand picked the Apostle Paul?

Gal 1:1 Paul, an apostle--sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead....

Okay, so when I quote Paul I'm quoting Christ who sent him. What does Paul say about your righteousness?

Romans 3:10 "There is no one righteous, not even one"

That's what Christ said in Matt chapter 19.

So no, you aren't righteous, Gibs. You are a sinner. Now, hopefully not like the man living for his nature, but still a sinner. You aren't Christ...in fact Ellen White says, "Not to see the marked contrast between Christ and ourselves is not to know ourselves."

So there you have it. Now, stop preaching salvation by law since you yourself are failing it.....

Thanks,

Rob

I do not preach righteousness by just keeping the law. None can do that as we have all sinned. That don't negate the fact one in Christ does keep the law as Christ is in Him and it is a service of love. You don't have to continue in sin if you don't want to. Did someone tell you, you had to did they?

I tell you Christ tells you don't have to no more as He will be in you and your love to please Him and your hate for sin you do put it away. Not to gain His favor by working to keep the letter of the law yourself as you will fail as did the Pharisees.

They did not have the law of love in their hearts. They even added to it and made it far harder for themselves. If they would have had the love of God and His Redeemer they would have passed the test from love of doing His will

When the law is in your heart and He is dwelling there it is a service of love.

He is actually telling us, "If you do truly love me my commandments you will keep", ( my paraphrse ) FROM LOVE!

How much do we love Him? That is the test right there!

It is done because you want to do His Will above all things as Your Love for Him is first and best for Him. It must be so or no prize.

Actually you've said repeatedly that we MUST overcome all sin. Hence you contradict yourself. IF I must overcome all sin and you define sin as the transgression of the law, then I must keep the law in order to gain heaven.

If it quacks like a duck...if it walks like a duck, it must be a duck.

I tend to agree and I'm about ready to take a nap from this topic....I never get anywhere. Like Job these men are righteous in their own eyes.

It is all in and about the route taken to accomplish it. It must be done from Love. It must not be done by straining of self to keep the law for reward, that is only a selfish try.

Obedience from love is acceptable and desired of Him but a try of obedience for reward is not.

Yes therein is the answer to overcoming our sin and bent to sin. When the bent to sin is abolished in our hearts and souls then one is one of His Jewels for His Kingdom.

Yes the way of love is the answer and Paul gave us of what is done for us when we have this love.

The Jew knew this and Paul is telling the mystery, secret to us Gentiles,

Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Then John let's us know in his way,

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.2 Timothy 2:3-7 KJV

And what are those fruits?

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness," Galatians 5:22 NKJV

"Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves [not Christ]. Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?"2 Corinthians 13:5-7 AMP parenthesis brackets their's LHC

I know there are some who believe that doing Godly things in order to receive a reward is sinful. If that is true, then why does the revelation of Jesus found in the book of Revelation encourage doing good works which leads to receiving rewards? By the above underlined statement of belief, it is in affect, accusing Jesus of encouraging sinful practice.

"This is a revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants the events that must soon take place.

God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to its message and obey what it says, for the time is near"Rev 1:1,3 NLT

"To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the tree of life in the paradise of God. "Rev 2:1,7

NLT

"“Write this letter to the angel of the church in Smyrna.

Whoever is victorious will not be harmed by the second death."Rev 2:8,11 NLT

" “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Pergamum.

To everyone who is victorious I will give some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven. "Rev 2:12,17 NLT

" “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Thyatira. To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end

They will have the same authority I received from my Father, and I will also give them the morning star!"Rev 2:18,26,28 NLT

"“Write this letter to the angel of the church in Sardis.

All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine."

“Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia.

All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it.

“Write this letter to the angel of the church in Laodicea.

Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne."

I do believe though that our good works must spring from love and faith and they are the right works tools.

Here is a bit from Sister White,

"There is need of constant watchfulness and of earnest, loving devotion, but these will come naturally when the soul kept by the power of God through faith. We can do nothing, absolutely nothing, to commend ourselves to divine favor. We must not trust at all to ourselves or to our good works; but when as erring, sinful beings we come to Christ, we may find rest in His love. God will accept every one that comes to Him trusting wholly in the merits of a crucified Saviour. Love springs up in the heart. There may be no ecstasy of feeling, but there is an abiding, peaceful trust. Every burden is light; for the yoke which Christ imposes is easy. Duty becomes a delight, and sacrifice a pleasure. The path that before seemed shrouded in darkness becomes bright with beams from the Sun of Righteousness. This is walking in the light as Christ is in the light." 11 {CCh 49.3}

"From the pulpits of today the words are uttered: "Believe, only believe. Have faith in Christ; you have nothing to do with the old law, only trust in Christ." How different is this from the words of the apostle who declares that faith without works is dead. He says, "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves" (James 1:22). We must have that faith that works by love and purifies the soul. Many seek to substitute a superficial faith for uprightness of life and think through this to obtain salvation. {FW 89.2}

The Lord requires at this time just what He required of Adam in Eden--perfect obedience to the law of God. We must have righteousness without a flaw, without a blemish. God gave His Son to die for the world, but He did not die to repeal the law which was holy and just and good. The sacrifice of Christ on Calvary is an unanswerable argument showing the immutability of the law. Its penalty was felt by the Son of God in behalf of guilty man, that through His merits the sinner might obtain the virtue of His spotless character by faith in His name. {FW 89.3}

The sinner was provided with a second opportunity to keep the law of God in the strength of his divine Redeemer. The cross of Calvary forever condemns the idea that Satan has placed before the Christian world, that the death of Christ abolished not only the typical system of sacrifices and ceremonies but the unchangeable law of God, the foundation of His throne, the transcript of His character." {FW 90.1}

When the bent to sin is abolished in our hearts and souls then one is one of His Jewels for His Kingdom.

No, Christ loved us and saved us while we were His enemies. If God loves only good people then God doesn't love with agape.

Posted

Yes Robert you are right He still loved us when we were sinners. You see He still loves Satan and he is lost we know for sure.

He loves us dearly but He cannot save us in sin. Sin is not put out of us when we don't do our part. You know as well as I what that part is. It is the service of our Love back to Him.

You pick and choose those scripture that you have nothing to do and other scripture makes it clear man has a psrt in his own salvation.

Like,-- - Mr 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Then we must be righteous...we must be as perfect as God is perfect. We must be law keepers. No time to lose, we must overcome the flesh or no heaven for any of us. Hurry...

Dear ones of His, it will always be and has ever been that love is the fulfilling of the law. Without love we cannot please Him. With loving Him with all our hearts and soul, His Law becomes ours too. Also our will comes to do His Will willingly, no strings attached.

It then is Love and Faith that is doing the works as the desire of the heart and not for recompense. We have proven in ourselves it is the law of Love.

No struggle and no heavy yoke to it, like He says my yoke is light!

Then we totally are free men and women within His Will. We desire nothing outside of His Will.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

"“Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate. I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’

“But the master replied, ‘You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate, why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.’

“Then he ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."Matt 25:24-30 NLT
