i believe the shaking is what happens when God speaks.

relating this to the thread i would say, when a man or when a women in prayer and obedience to God, resents the message of truth as it is in Christ, God will also speak and souls either accept or reject.

there was a shaking at Mt Sinai. The people could not bear to hear the voice of God.

God will speak again with power, and we will either yield to it or not.

Hebrews 12, if they did not escape when they refused him who spoke on earth, how shall we escape if we turn away from him who warns from heaven.

Well,,, it seems we may have different views on what/how/when the shaking works.

Some say it's on-going. If thats the case it's been on-going for over a hundred years. With the Children of the Covenant you could say it was on-going for over a 1,000 years, climaxing with the crucifiction.

When I refer to the shaking I mean it in terms of the final cataclysmic event's that lead up and include the Sunday law. The final test for mankind that leads to the time of trouble such as the world has never seen.

The voice of God does shake the earth, during the sixth plague (or so) when the day and hour of His return is announced. By then, of course, every case has been decided already, probation closed with the outpouring of the seven last plagues.

I don't get to caught up with the concept of probation closing first for Seventh-day Adventists. While there is some truth to that, the facts are that probation closes for all mankind at the same time. That time not even Lucifer knows. Before that time and right now, judgement is under way. Any of us, at any time, may find that our personal probation time has ended with little or no warning. Accidental death perhaps, or that last fateful decision to reject the law and character of Christ once and for all.

My focus, when it comes to talking to people about they're personal salvation, is on the understanding that no man knows the day or the hour when they're soul may be required of them. NOW is the acceptable time of the Lord!
