Prophetic Framework Acts 3, Isaiah 2, Daniel 2

Greetings again 8thdaypriest,

So yes - I believe the earth will lie desolate for 1000 years AFTER the fire of the "day of the LORD".
Have you considered carefully the OP and many other Scriptures that have been considered throughout this thread? I do not have time or the patience to respond to your statement and quotations, so in a way I apologise, but I also feel that you ignore so much other scripture that balances what you have stated.

The following is an abbreviation of the Opening Post in response to your claims.

Acts 3:19-21 (KJV): 19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution (restoration RV, NASB) of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

A number of things are clearly stated here. It speaks of the return of Jesus, and that at his return Jesus will usher in the times of refreshing and the times of restoration of all things. Peter states that these things are the subject matter of what God has spoken through all His holy prophets.

Looking first at one of the major writing prophets, Isaiah:

Isaiah 2:1-4 (KJV): 1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

There are a number of features in this prophecy. This speaks concerning Judah and Jerusalem and this is literal Jerusalem in the land of Judah. It speaks of the last days and by comparison with Acts 3:19-21 this is at the time of the return of Jesus from heaven. There will be restoration as God’s House or Temple will be established again in Jerusalem, and there will be refreshing as the nations will flow up to Jerusalem to worship and for instruction in the ways of God. This is set in the context of judgement on the nations, and the armaments of war will be turned into agricultural instruments.

Daniel interpreted the dream of Nebuchadnezzar:

Daniel 2:34-35 (KJV): 34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. 35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Daniel 2:44 (KJV): And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

It is important to note that the stone hits the image upon the feet, that is after the subdivision of the Roman Empire. This then is the time when the kingdoms of men will be superseded by the kingdom of God as stated in verse 44 and this kingdom, as verse 35 states, will fill the whole earth. This is the Kingdom of Heaven, not because it will be in heaven, but because the God of Heaven will replace the kingdoms of men.

Thus the Kingdom of God will be established on earth at the return of Jesus from heaven, and will be centred in literal Jerusalem. The nations will be judged and the remnant of these nations will come to worship and be instructed at Jerusalem. The kingdom will fully replace the kingdoms of men, and it will fill the whole earth.

Kind regards

Trevor

Jeremiah writes that he was shown the earth after the great day of the LORD.

“I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void;

And the heavens, they had no light.

I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled,

And all the hills moved back and forth.

I beheld, and indeed there was no man,

And all the birds of the heavens had fled.

I beheld, and indeed the fruitful land was a wilderness,

And all its cities were broken down

At the presence of the LORD, By His fierce anger” (Jeremiah 4:23-26).

"without form, and void" is WITHOUT form, and VOID of life"

These are the same words used in Genesis 1.

I am not saying that the planet is goes completely out of existence. I'm saying that all life on the planet is destroyed mostly by the 7 last plagues, but also by the glory of Christ's coming.

How can the redeemed LIVE here immediately upon Christs return? There is no one to govern. Every person is dead, except for those redeemed. "The rest of the dead" do not live again for 1000 years.

In the Septuagint the Greek word “abussos” (Strong’s #12 - meaning bottomless or boundless) was used to translate the Hebrew “bohuw” (#0922 - meaning emptiness, void or waste). See Genesis 1:2 & Jeremiah 4:23.

The same Greek word “abussos” is translated as “bottomless pit” in Revelation 20:1-2 of our English Bible. Satan is thrown into the abyss - the emptiness, the void, the waste - a perfect description of earth after the seven last plagues. If you remember, the "scapegoat" is led out to the "uninhabited place". UN-INHABITED. No LIFE.

If nuclear bombs were let loose on planet earth, they will kill everything and everyone. It will take a thousand years for the radiation to dissipate.

I agree with the SDAs, that earth is uninhabited (except for Satan and his angels) during the 7th millennium.

I disagree with the SDAs in that I believe "the rest of the nations" will be raised to "learn His ways" and then make an informed choice to enter into covenant with HIM or to rebel.

Blessings,

Rachel Cory

You believe that the entire surface of the Earth will be in ruins, inhabited only by Satan and his angels, during the 1000 years. You also believe that this corresponds to the 7th year land Sabbath - the Earth is resting during this time. (These are similar to the standard SDA beliefs.)

Why would you think that the Earth in such a condition would correspond to a time of "rest"? In the model described in Leviticus 25:3-6, the land was allowed to "rest" by not being actively farmed, however, it produced food by "volunteer crops", and fed the people.

The vineyard was not to be pruned during the 7th year (verse 4), but it still grew grapes. The land was not barren - it was very much full of life, as an unpruned grape vine puts out many leaves and shoots.

The situation you describe of desolation inhabited by devils does not seem to correspond to the type of "rest" described in Leviticus.

- joe

The "rest" of the 7th year was a prophecy.

But according to Leviticus 26:33-35, the land can also "rest" in desolation.

Leviticus 26:33-35 “I will scatter you among the nations and draw out a sword after you; your land shall be desolate and your cities waste. Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land; then the land shall rest and enjoy its sabbaths. As long as it lies desolate it shall rest – for the time it did not rest on your sabbaths when you dwelt in it.”

The Sabbath was hallowed at the end of creation week. The inhabitants of this earth have NOT honored His Sabbath as intended. The "rest" of the 7th millennium will be "for the time it did not rest" during 6000 years of rebellion.

Greetings again Rachel (8thdaypriest),

Jeremiah writes that he was shown the earth after the great day of the LORD.

“I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void;

I responded to your quotation of Jeremiah 4 earlier in this thread (Page 1).

Could I ask how you visualise the destruction of this present world? In practical terms I live in area where the neighbours live on 2 or more acres, and on the western side is a normal suburban area. My own fellowship has done some advertising in this area, and for the first time in 35 years to my knowledge the SDAs advertised a Prophetic Code Seminar recently which I attended for one session. We have had a number of JWs visit, the latest this morning and they gave me a leaflet and then hurried off.

Do you visualise that this semi-rural and suburban area is ripe or ready in God's eyes for complete destruction by burning? This would include all the wildlife, such as birds, rabbits, foxes and lizards and all the plants and trees. Has there been sufficient witness or preaching to say the 5000 inhabitants of this area, with a few ill-attended churches, including one SDA church, a few Baptist churches, a Catholic and Church of England, one JW Kingdom Hall and my own fellowship’s hall? Personally I cannot accept that Jesus the Lord of Creation is going to take the equivalent of a giant flame-thrower and destroy this area. Yes, there may be some judgement and some destruction, but the destruction that you seem to advocate is not like the Jesus that I have seen in the NT or the Jesus I have met.

Kind regards

Those who teach the 2300 days as heaving ended in 1844 make use of Usher's chronology that this earth was created in 4004 BC. Our current year, 2014, is 18 years past the 6th millennium or 6018 years from the supposed year of Creation. This means we are already 18 years into the 7th millennium.

And still the inhabitants of this earth seem not to be at "rest".

Noah preached for 100 years that a universal flood was coming. Please prepare. Get on the boat!!

When time was up - a giant asteroid slammed into earth and EVERYTHING outside of the ark was dead - including animals and birds.

NKJ Matthew 24:37 "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Mat 24:37 NKJ)

NKJ 1 Peter 3:20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. (1Pe 3:20 NKJ)

Personally, I believe another asteroid hit is coming.

Jesus will come thu just in time to rescue his own. He is the ARK.

The God in the time of Noah is the same Son of God who will return again soon.

This earth will be left "without form - void of life."

Although the text you referenced from Leviticus does use the word "desolate", it does not refer to the grim destruction that you describe in your future application. The land was inhabited by poor people, and the plants were still growing during the Babylonian captivity. It was not a barren desert.

The text also says this was happening while "you are in your enemies’ land" - while the Israelites were in Babylon. However, in your future application, you have the "Israelites" being in the New Jerusalem.

- joe

The prophecies concerning the Babylonian destruction have ANOTHER application - at the end of this age.

The point I was making was "desolation" can be "rest" for the land. The degree of desolation can change with the situation. It was only a partial desolation after the Babylonians came. It will be a FULL desolation (without form - and void) after the 7 last plagues.

Every single thing required for human or animal life is wiped out by the last plagues.

Second Bowl: Every living thing in the sea dies (Rev. 16:3).

If the ocean no longer supports life, there is no food chain.

There is also little oxygen, because sea vegetation produces 75% of our oxygen.

Third Bowl: All of the rivers and all of the springs of water become like blood.

They will not support life (Rev. 16:4).

Fourth Bowl: The sun gets hotter and scorches men with fire (Rev. 16:8).

Possibly a gamma ray burst, or the result of the earth being knocked into a different orbit around the sun. Many will die of the intense heat or of radiation. All electrical devices will be rendered unusable.

Fifth Bowl: Darkness will cover the “kingdom of the beast” (Rev. 16:10).

The beast power rules the entire earth - therefore this plague of darkness will be universal.

sunlight

oxygen - clean water - vegetation

temperate climate

ALL GONE !

Seventh Bowl: “Every island fled away and the mountains were not found. Great hail from heaven fell upon men, every hailstone about the weight of a talent [100pds]” (Rev. 16:18-21). "every mountain and island was moved out of its place.”

This will be the greatest earthquake ever known! The surface of the earth will be broken apart to an incredible degree - an earthquake with the power to break apart every known fault over the face of the entire earth.

NOTE: With no clean air, no water, no food, severe heat then darkness, then a shower of very large asteroids, while the surface of the earth is broken up - do you really think there could be any human life left on this planet!?

Many are teaching that the saints will reign with Christ, during the 7th millennium, over the nations who survive these last plagues. I disagree!

Blessings,

Rachel Cory

"And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season."Rev 20:1-3 KJV

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know."John 14:1-4 KJV

....if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels?"1 Cor 6:2 KJV

When would be the most logical time for that judgement to occur? Especially since Jesus is going to bring the rewards with Him when He comes the second time.

"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Revelation 22:12 KJV

"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."Revelation 20:4-6 KJV

Quote:
Many are teaching that the saints will reign with Christ, during the 7th millennium, over the nations who survive these last plagues.

"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."Revelation 20:11-15 KJV

From Rev 15: The saints are already seen on the sea of glass in heaven (Rev 15:1-4) when the vials of the 7 plagues are given to the 7 angels (vv5-7) and subsequently commanded to pour out the plagues on earth (Rev 16:1). For the saints to be seen on the sea of glass undoubtedly means Jesus has already fetched them from earth and had taken them with Him to heaven in fulfillment of His promise that wherever He is, there shall the saints be likewise (John 14:1-3). Therefore, the 7 plagues will be poured out AFTER, not before, the 2nd Coming.

In the 6th plague, preparations are made for the battle of Armageddon (Rev 16:12-16), which will be fought AFTER the execution of judgment against the harlot in the early stages of the 7th plague (Rev 16:17-19). Rev 19 tells us that in heaven, the marriage of the Lamb takes place AFTER judgment against the harlot was rendered (vv1-9). After the wedding, Jesus returns to earth (v11) with His Bride - the saints, for the battle of Armageddon, the same war described in Rev 17:14 where the Lamb is with the saints.

In the battle of Armageddon, the beast and his false prophet will be captured and thrown alive into the lake of fire (Rev 19:19,20), while all the rest (Greek "loipoy") of the wicked will be slain by sword (Rev 19:21). The millennium then starts with the capture and imprisonment of satan (Rev 20:1-3).

Where are the saints?

Quote:
Psalm 37:

9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth.

10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.

11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

The saints are here on earth with Christ, fresh from victory in the battle of Armageddon. They will camp here on earth during the millennium, delighting in abundant peace. Why camp? Because a camp is temporary. But they will build the beloved city which is NOT the New Jerusalem. The wicked all slain at the battle of Armageddon just before the Millennium will be resurrected again at the end of the millennium and satan loosed (Rev 20:5-8). They will lay siege to the camp of the saints and the beloved city. But fire from heaven will rain down upon them (v9).

That's what is written and we are enjoined: NIV 1 Cor 4:6 ... "Do not go beyond what is written."

First, you cannot read the Bible like an ordinary book. The Bible clearly states you have to have wisdom and it must come from ELOHIM! Dan 12:1 says that there will be a Time of Trouble that has never been before and during that time YAHSHUA known also as MICHAEL which is HIS WARRIOR NAME. HE will deliver HIS people. YAHSHUA even told the disciples in Matt 24:21-31 that HE will come during The Tribulation and will gather HIS elect from the corner of the world.

John is shown through first summations and then the details of each summation. Rev Chapter 14:1-5 gives a summation about the 144,000 around the Throne of YAHWEH and how they overcame. Then it stops and goes back through time. The three angels are actually the messengers known as the 144,000 as they reap the harvest of souls known as the great multitude stated in Rev 7:9. Rev Chapter 15 start out with the last Seven angels with Seven vials, some to be poured out specifically on the beast and those who serve him. The others will hit all mankind who have been judge for their sins. That means their are two foes and the sixth plague that has to do with the River Euphrates drying up. That is what is happening now with the Middle East, Russia and Ukraine they are drying up now and will be dried to join with the beast to destroy both the papacy known as the whore which include the Protestant world also the fallen SDA Church. Jerusalem is Babylon where the Pope will resign and the city and Japheth children who call themselves Jews will all be destroyed by USA their friend today but their enemy soon. This will be the battle of Armageddon and YAHWEH will allow Satan and his evil angels to have their way. This sixth vial is the destruction of the Papacy and Jerusalem together. USA is the false prophet and will help strengthen the beast. YAHWEH states again that through all of this calamity HIS people will be delivered and HE shows again them standing around THE FATHER'S THRONE! Happy Sabbath and blessings!

That's what is written and we are enjoined: NIV 1 Cor 4:6 ... "Do not go beyond what is written."

Your entire post is NOT "written" in the Scriptures. Your post contains YOUR interpretation of what is written in the Scriptures.

I agree with you that the saints are rescued by Yeshua at His coming BEFORE the last 7 vial judgments are poured out.

Noah was inside the Ark with the door shut BEFORE it began to rain. And Lot was pulled OUT of Sodom BEFORE the fireballs rained down and burned up the city.

I know that Mrs. White describes plagues falling, which she believed were the 7 last plagues, but she wrote "these plagues are not universal". In my opinion, this would mean that she was "seeing" the trumpet judgments - which are NOT universal. Jesus comes at the 7th trumpet.

At the Feast of Tabernacles, the Children of Israel were commanded to make booths (cukkah) for themselves at Jerusalem.

They ate their meals in these Sukka - these temporary shelters, to be reminded of their wanderings before reaching their permanent home in the promised land. They dwelt in these Sukka for 7 days.

On the 8th day, they remained at Jerusalem but they no longer used the Booths.

They were no longer wandering. They were now at their promised home.

I believe this was an acted prophecy.

The redeemed will have lived in temporary shelter for 7 millennia, before they finally reach their permanent and forever HOME at the 8th day - the 8th millennium.

Perhaps.

Matthew 14:29 says: And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

If I say Peter walked on the sea surface, am I going beyond what is written? The tenor of your post seems to indicate that would be the case. But I hope it is not.

Had I said Peter walked on the surface of a river, then that would be just my interpretation, and would be going beyond what is written. This is because v26 explains that the water on which Peter walked is a sea, the same sea on which Jesus walked.

Interpretations NOT corroborated by Scriptures are, for me, going beyond what are written in Scriptures.

I believe we (the redeemed) will return to "the land" at the end of the 7th millennium. We will build the Temple seen by Ezekiel in vision. The river will flow out from the Most Holy Place of that Temple. Where the river flows the earth will come back to life.

NKJ Ezekiel 47:1-8 Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east . . .

"Son of man, have you seen this?" Then he brought me and returned me to the bank of the river. 7 When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other. 8 Then he said to me: "This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. 9 "And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. (NKJ)

Some are teaching that animal sacrifices will be restored also, because implements were seen by Ezekiel in this vision, but I would point out that there are many things in another book - the book of Revelation - which are symbolic. Yet we believe that the glorious Holy City New Jerusalem is real.

I believe that the people who are resurrected AFTER the 1000 years - "the rest of the dead" are not ready to stand in the presence of God. They will need a buffer - a Temple - where they can come and learn the ways of the LORD. I believe Ezekiel's Temple will be that buffer.

I believe that Ezekiel's Temple belongs to the 8th day kingdom when Christ will reign on this earth.

The animal sacrifices depicted in Ezekiel's vision, represent the continuing mediation of the blood of Christ for those people raised at the 8th millennium.

Blessings,

Rachel Cory

I wanted to say something else about the total destruction of this earth (the planet remains, but it will have no life on it) following the 7 last plagues.

In Malachi 4:6 the LORD warns, "Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse." (NKJ)

The word translated "curse" is "cherem".

02764 ~r,xe cherem {khay'-rem} or (Zech. 14:11) ~r,x, cherem {kheh'-rem}

Meaning: 1) a thing devoted, thing dedicated, ban, devotion 2) a net, thing perforated 3) have been utterly destroyed, (appointed to) utter destruction

Leviticus 27:29 `No person under the ban, who may become doomed to destruction among men, shall be redeemed, but shall surely be put to death. (NKJ)

Deuteronomy 13:17 "So none of the accursed things shall remain in your hand, that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of His anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you and multiply you, just as He swore to your fathers, (Deu 13:17 NKJ)

Joshua 6:17 "Now the city shall be doomed by the LORD to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. (Jos 6:17 NKJ)

Joshua 6:18 "And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. (NKJ)

Joshua 7:11 "Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff. (Jos 7:11 NKJ)

The whole earth will be "cursed" or "devoted to destruction" once the redeemed people of Christ have been removed.

Just another REASON why I believe the earth will be lifeless during the 7th millennium.

Greetings again Rachel (8thdaypriest),

I wanted to say something else about the total destruction of this earth (the planet remains, but it will have no life on it) following the 7 last plagues.

In Malachi 4:6 the LORD warns, "Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse." (NKJ)

The whole earth will be "cursed" or "devoted to destruction" once the redeemed people of Christ have been removed.

Just another REASON why I believe the earth will be lifeless during the 7th millennium.

Malachi 4:5-6 (KJV): 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Here is a clear difference in how we read this particular Scripture. The above teaches me that, before the second coming of Christ, Elijah will be sent to convert natural Israel so that they will become mortal inhabitants for the 1000 years reign of Jesus upon the earth. Thus the “curse” will be avoided because their heart will be turned. Christ is coming to bless, refresh and restore, not curse and destroy.

The following is a clear indication that the descendants of Jacob “her that halteth” will be saved and will become the first dominion of the kingdom of God.

Micah 4:6-8 (KJV): 6 In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted; 7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever. 8 And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.

Kind regards

Hi TrevorL,

Just my personal opinion, but I don't think your scenario fits with Daniel 9:27, which is a prophecy about the people of Daniel - Israelites and specifically Jews and their city, Jerusalem.

"And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,

even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate."

If EVERY mountain, and every island are flattened, that would have to include Jerusalem's 7 mountains.

Rev. 16:20 "Then every island fled away and the mountains were not found."

The two witnesses, one of which is Elijah (or at least someone with the Elijah message) will prophesy, and will plead with folks to get right with the LORD and His law, but most will NOT listen.

I don't believe that DNA Hebrews will convert suddenly in the last hours of time, to then be restored to favor and rule over the rest of mankind during the upcoming 7th millennium.

It is NOT about DNA. It is about faith (which includes obedience.)

All of the promises concerning "Israel" - her return to the land, her rule over the "nations", her restoration to favor - all will be fulfilled to New Covenant Israel (those who have evidenced their belief in Yeshua as Lord and Messiah, Savior and King).

Those who believe are "grafted in" to Israel (Eph 2 and Rom 11), and the wicked, the unbelieving who WERE in covenant with Yahweh will be "cut off" at the coming Day of Atonement - Judgment Day for Israel.

Yom Kippur was also judgment day for the mixed multitude (which to me symbolizes all of those who have a knowledge of Yahweh and His Law.

"The nations" were NOT judged at Yom Kippur.

"The nations" to me - represent those without a knowledge of Yahweh.

Blessings,

This one is kinda long, but hopefully it will be easy to read.

LEST I STRIKE THE EARTH

WITH A CURSE

Malachi 4:4-6 “Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse."

The word translated "curse" is "cherem" (#02764) means “devoted to destruction” or simply “devoted” (to the LORD).

The LORD instructed Joshua to completely destroy or “devote to destruction,” the cities of the Canaanites. The army of Joshua was to “kill everything living” - every man, woman, and child, and also every animal. The precious metals - gold, silver, or bronze- was to be given to the LORD for service within the Tabernacle.

Exodus 22:20 "He who sacrifices to any god, except to the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed” (devoted to destruction).

This verse tells us that all those who remain worshipers of idols will one day be destroyed.

Leviticus 27:29 “No person under the ban, who may become doomed to destruction among men, shall be redeemed, but shall surely be put to death.”

This is speaking about human beings in any city that was to be “devoted to destruction”.

Numbers 21:3 “And the LORD listened to the voice of Israel and delivered up the Canaanites, and they utterly destroyed (devoted to destruction) them and their cities.”

Deuteronomy 7:26 “Nor shall you bring an abomination (a cursed thing) into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it. You shall utterly detest it and utterly abhor it, for it is an accursed thing.”

Look through the list of those things which the LORD called “abominations”. These things, and those who continue to practice them are “doomed to destruction”. It’s pretty clear.

Deuteronomy 2:34 “We took all his cities at that time, and we utterly destroyed the men, women, and little ones of every city; we left none remaining.”

Deuteronomy 13:17 "So none of the accursed things shall remain in your hand, that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of His anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you and multiply you, just as He swore to your fathers,

Joshua 6:17 "Now the city shall be doomed by the LORD to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

Joshua 6:18 "And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.

Joshua 6:21 & 24 “And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, ox and sheep and donkey, with the edge of the sword. . . . But they burned the city and all that was in it with fire. Only the silver and gold, and the vessels of bronze and iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.”

Joshua is a living symbol of Jesus. What Joshua does to the accursed Canaanites, Jesus will do to those who are accursed on “the Great Day of the LORD.”

We must remember that the Canaanites were practicing human child sacrifice, and child sex slavery at their Temples.

Joshua 7:12 “Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you.”

Joshua 10:40 “So Joshua conquered all the land: the mountain country and the South and the lowland and the wilderness slopes, and all their kings; he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded.”

I have not listed every city which was “devoted to destruction”. I think you get the picture.

Now do you understand why the LORD dealt so severely with King Saul? He kept alive the King of the Amalakites who was “devoted to destruction” and he allowed his men to keep alive the best of the cattle and sheep (I Samuel Cpt 15). Saul kept as a trophy an “accursed thing” thus bringing a “curse” upon all of Israel.

Isaiah 34:5 “For My sword shall be bathed in heaven; Indeed it shall come down on Edom, And on the people of My curse, for judgment.”

Here is a prophecy of judgment upon the descendants of Esau.

Isaiah 43:28 “Therefore I will profane the princes (priests) of the sanctuary; I will give Jacob to the curse, And Israel to reproaches.”

Israel also was “devoted to destruction” because of her idolatrous practices.

Isaiah 34:2 “For the indignation of the LORD is against all nations, And His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter.”

Just like Joshua.

The whole earth will be "cursed" or "devoted to destruction" once the redeemed people of Christ have been removed.

I realize that some are teaching that this will only apply to “the land” of Israel, but I have explained why I believe it will apply to the whole earth, because everyone on the earth will worship the Beast except those with the seal of God who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Rev. 13:8).

Just another REASON why I believe the earth will be lifeless during the 7th millennium. Revelation ends with the promise that there will “be no more curse” in the forever Kingdom of Messiah.

Revelation 22:3 “And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.”

Zechariah 14:11 “The people shall dwell in it; And no longer shall there be utter destruction, But Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.”

Blessings,

Greetings again Rachel (8thdaypriest),

I appreciate your latest two responses, but you have ignored what Malachi 4:5-6 actually says. It clearly states that Elijah will turn the hearts of the children to the fathers. You have also bypassed Micah 4:6-8. I believe that Daniel 9:27 was fulfilled in the overthrow of Judah and the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 as Matthew 24 and Luke 21 clearly teach.

Kind regards

Since when, in all of Scripture, did a prophet turn the majority of the people to the right path. The LORD had to forgive them again, and again, and again, and again. It's ALWAYS just a remnant that are saved.

I believe that the "remnant" of Micah 4:6-8 will be gathered @ the second coming. The text then flows forward.

The "LORD will reign" from Jerusalem and the "former dominion" will be established at the 8th millennium,

when the redeemed return to this earth.

The river of Ezekiel and Zechariah will flow out (symbolizing the holy Spirit) and the earth will be healed and restored.

In the type (the prophecy portrayed by the Aaronic priesthood) men could NOT minister as priests UNTIL the 8th day. They had to be consecrated, and separated for 7 days.

They were told to "remain at the door of the Tabernacle".

A DAY with the LORD is 1000 years.

Heaven is the "true Tabernacle".

The "doorway" of the Tabernacle is the Holy City New Jerusalem

That is why I believe we (the redeemed) will go to the City which Christ has prepared for us, and complete our consecration for the priesthood.

THEN we will return to the earth at the 8th millennium, to govern and teach those who are raised at that time ("the rest of the dead").

You see Christ reigning with His priests, during the 7th millennium. I see Him reigning on the earth, during the 8th millennium.

Have a blessed day.

Jesus is now in heaven, but when God the Father sends him, Jesus will return to bless, restore all things, refresh and replace the present kingdoms of men with the Kingdom of God Acts 3:19-21, Isaiah 2:1-5, Daniel 2:35,44. The promises to Abraham include the promise to make of Abraham a great nation. Micah 4:6-8 shows that this will be the nation of Israel, restored and converted and made the first dominion of the Kingdom of God. But there will be other nations that will submit and be converted at Jesus’ return and this is also revealed as one of the promises to Abraham states. It says that all the nations, or families of the earth, will be blessed in Abraham. This is confirmed in Micah 4:1-4, Isaiah 2:1-5 where the nations will go up to Jerusalem, to worship and be taught when Jesus sits on the throne of David during the 7th Millenium.

Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV): 1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

The work and blessing of the Lord Jesus Christ at his return is clearly seen in the following:

Isaiah 35:1-10 (KJV): 1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. 2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. 3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. 4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. 5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. 7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes. 8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. 9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: 10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Kind regards

So TrevorL,

You believe you are READY to "rule the nations" under Jesus Christ?

I know I'm not READY. I'm doing good just governing myself, with the help of Jesus, and I often fail at that.

For me - it will take a thousand years of healing before I would be READY to govern others in the name of Christ.

I certainly agree that descriptions of a restored earth, of people from "the nations" living around Israel in this restored earth ARE THERE. Your example from Isa. 35 is one. Zechariah 14:16-20 is another. The "family of Egypt" is invited to come up to Jerusalem to "keep the Feast of Tabernacles."

The "the family of Egypt" is a reference to the "mixed multitude".

THE MIXED MULTITUDE - A PROPHECY

A “greater exodus” suggests other parallels. When the children of Israel came out of Egypt, a large number of mixed blood and other slave peoples came out with them, following Moses into the wilderness. These people sojourned with Israel. They were the first to complain. They were first to return to idol worship (Exo. 12:28, Num. 11:4).

In the prophecies of the “nations” who are resurrected after the 1000 years (Rev. 20), the picture is presented of a “mixed multitude.” They are living on the earth with Christ reigning from Jerusalem, with Israel brought back to the land, and just as in the first exodus, the mixed multitude (“the family of Egypt”) are the trouble-makers.

Jeremiah 12:14 “Thus says the LORD: ‘Against all My evil neighbors who touch the inheritance which I have caused My people Israel to inherit–behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them. THEN it shall be, after I have plucked them out, that I will return and have compassion on them and bring them back, everyone to his heritage and everyone to his land. And it shall be, if they will diligently learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As the LORD lives,’ . . . then they shall be established in the midst of My people.’”

This one is an absolute bombshell! The evil neighbors of Israel will be plucked out, and then later returned to their lands. If they will learn the ways of Israel and the LORD, then “they will be established in the midst of my people.”

Zechariah 14:16-21 “And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem [the redeemed ] shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. [We will be keeping the Feasts!] And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth [raised at The 8th Day] do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain. If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain [Holy Spirit]; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.”

Here we have the scene - AFTER the Great Day of the LORD - AFTER the 7th millennium. It is The 8th Day - The Kingdom of Messiah. “Everyone who is left”- will go up to worship the King. All the nations are invited to come up to Jerusalem, to worship the LORD. Some will come up - others will refuse.

The term “family of Egypt” refers, I believe, to the “mixed multitude”. These people learned the way of Yahweh in the wilderness with Israel. Some of them - like Caleb - joined with Israel. Others did not.

The LORD has “sent” His “signposts” to the nations, to help them find their way. From every nation, kindred, and language those raised in the “first resurrection” have been sent back to their kindred, to witness for Christ.

NOTE: “The nations” (non-Israelites) are invited to go up to Jerusalem, to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. Anciently, Gentiles were invited only to this Feast - not to Passover or Pentecost.

NOTE: The Water Ceremony, performed during the Feast of Tabernacles WAS a prayer for rain. In Scripture, water always represents the Holy Spirit. Those of the nations who will “not come up,” will not receive this outpouring of the Spirit - and they will be deceived by Satan. They are called “the family of Egypt.” Rebellion is brewing, which will culminate in the Gog/Magog Battle.

THEN - AFTER the Gog/Magog battle there will be a final great white throne judgment, and FOLLOWING that judgment - the final "lake of fire".

Blessings,

Rachel Cory

There are many element parts to my teaching of "The 8th Day".

I could start a thread for each part.

1. Are BOTH righteous and wicked raised at the second coming - the righteous to reward and the wicked to death?

Are there some who are NOT RAISED at the Second Coming?

2. Do the seven last plagues destroy ALL LIFE on planet earth?

3. How long will the earth remain desolate?

Is "the earth" the entire planet, or just "the land" of Israel?

4. Are "the rest of the dead" solely the wicked, who have already been judged and are raised only to be executed?

5. Will all of the redeemed from the "first resurrection" become priests, who will serve with Christ on earth?

What need of priests, if every person is now already saved or dead?

7. When will the prophecies of "return to the land" be fulfilled for Israel?

8. Who is an Israelite?

9. How do we understand all the prophecies of "return to the land" which INCLUDE Gentiles, "the nations", "strangers", the uncircumcised - living on the earth with, around, or among Israel returned to the land where the Son of David is reigning??

10. Does Gog/Magog preceed or follow the "Great White Throne Judgment of Rev. 20:11-14?

Is Gog/Magog the SAME as "the lake of fire"? (I do not believe so.)

We could have LOTS of discussion for quite awhile.

I need for my teaching on "The 8th Day" to be tested.

If we can stay civil, and our argument not deteriorate, it would be good for me.

Blessings Always,

Rachel Cory

Greetings again Rachel (8thdaypriest),

I do not have time to respond to all aspects of your Posts. My main aim in starting this thread was to present the view that Jesus will reign upon the throne of David in Jerusalem for the 1000 years after his soon return at the beginning of the 7th Millenia. In my opinion I have tested your view against the Scriptures that I have presented, and I cannot agree with your almost unique view, contrary to my view and the normal SDA view. You reinforce many of your views by various obscure expositions and logic, but ignore many of the simple and clear Scriptures and prophecies.

To briefly answer your questions, the following is my position without going into detailed explanation and discussion:

1. Are BOTH righteous and wicked raised at the second coming - the righteous to reward and the wicked to death?

Are there some who are NOT RAISED at the Second Coming?

Trevor: Yes both the righteous and some wicked are raised Daniel 12:2. Not all wicked are raised.

2. Do the seven last plagues destroy ALL LIFE on planet earth?

Trevor: We have a diferent view of the seven last plagues. I believe we are in the midst of the period of the 6th plague at the moment. No, not all life will be destroyed. Yes, there will be judgements and some destruction.

3. How long will the earth remain desolate?

Is "the earth" the entire planet, or just "the land" of Israel?

Trevor: The earth will not be desolate. There will be some desolation and judgements at Armageddon and after, but this will also be a period of restoration and refreshing that will completely overcome any long term desolation.

4. Are "the rest of the dead" solely the wicked, who have already been judged and are raised only to be executed?

Trevor: I consider the rest of the dead to refer to the mortals who die during the 1000 years, not in any way the wicked before Christ’s 2nd coming.

5. Will all of the redeemed from the "first resurrection" become priests, who will serve with Christ on earth?

What need of priests, if every person is now already saved or dead?

Trevor: Yes, the believers and faithful will become kings and priests during the 1000 years. They will minister to the nations left after Armageddon.

7. When will the prophecies of "return to the land" be fulfilled for Israel?

Trevor: Some aspects have been fulfilled, eg Ezekiel 38 speaks of Israel being in the land before the northern invasion. Other aspects of the regathering will occur after the 2nd coming.

8. Who is an Israelite?

Trevor: There are “spiritual Israelites” and there is a nation who are descendants of Jacob. A remnant of natural Israel will be converted in and around the events of Armageddon, as depicted in Ezekiel 38-39 and other scripture.

9. How do we understand all the prophecies of "return to the land" which INCLUDE Gentiles, "the nations", "strangers", the uncircumcised - living on the earth with, around, or among Israel returned to the land where the Son of David is reigning??

Trevor: I will defer on this question.

10. Does Gog/Magog preceed or follow the "Great White Throne Judgment of Rev. 20:11-14?

Is Gog/Magog the SAME as "the lake of fire"? (I do not believe so.)

Trevor: The Gog / Mague of Ezekiel 38 is before the 1000 years, that of Revelation 20 is at the end of the 1000 years.
