Are BOTH righteous and wicked raised at the second coming - the righteous to reward and the wicked to death? Are there some who are NOT RAISED at the Second Coming? Trevor: Yes both the righteous and some wicked are raised Daniel 12:2. Not all wicked are raised. Jesus Himself said that ALL in the graves will be resurrected: Quote: NKJ John 5:28-29 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth -- those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 8thdaypriest Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Daniel 12:1-3 "At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people and there shall be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time [the 7 last plagues?]. And at that time, your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book, and many [does not say all] of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt." "Many" is 07227 br; rab {rab} Meaning: adj 1) much, many, great 1a) much 1b) many 1c) abounding in 1d) more numerous than 1e) abundant, enough 1f) great 1g) strong 1h) greater than adv 1i) much, exceedingly n m 2) captain, chief (implying a great military force under a captain) SDAs have separated the resurrected into a. the redeemed - written in the book and b. "the rest of the dead" Of course SDAs do teach the "special resurrection" of those who crucified Christ Jesus. They will be raised to see Him coming in the clouds. Personally I just EXPAND that "special resurrection" to include all of those guilty of conscious, informed, knowing sin against the LORD. I would separate "the dead" into: a. redeemed and b. wicked (blotted out of the book, or knowingly refused to obey Yahweh - in other words they were informed concerning the LORD and His ways) and c. "the rest" - uninformed and therefore not subject to judgment at this time. "If you were blind, you would have no sin" (John 9:41). Rev. 19:17-21 describes the defeat of the beast, the kings of the earth, their armies, and "the rest" who are alive on the earth at the return of Christ. These belong with the wicked. Rev 20:4 describes the redeemed, who become priests Rev. 20:5 speaks of "the rest of the dead". These do "not live again" for another 1000 years. In other words - they are NOT resurrected to judgment at the Second Coming. Blessings Rachel Cory Prophecy Viewpoint Quote 8thdaypriest
8thdaypriest Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Anciently the Day of Atonement - Yom Kippur - was judgment day. Those faithful to covenant were confirmed. Those who had violated covenant without repentance were "cut off". The scapegoat was banished to the uninhabited place. So Yom Kippur was the day of cutting off. "The nations" were NOT judged on Yom Kippur. They were as yet uninformed. Their cup was not yet "full". Those persons who died in ignorance cannot justly be judged at the Second Coming. Only Israel and the mixed multitude of informed persons who journeyed with Israel were judged on Yom Kippur - NOT - "the nations". Revelation 20:2-3 describes the "angel" with the "key to the bottomless pit" We know this is Jesus because He "holds the keys" (Rev. 1:18). He banishes Satan to the uninhabited place at the finish of the battle with the beast and the kings of the earth. This is another reason why I believe that the Second Coming will be the fulfillment of Yom Kippur. Blessings, Rachel Cory Prophecy Viewpoint Quote 8thdaypriest

Jesus can NEVER be wrong. Samie, you concentrate on the word "all". I would focus on the good, and the evil. The "all" includes only those who have "done good" and those who have "done evil". But that leaves "the rest" who have done neither good nor evil, because the evil is not counted against anyone who is ignorant of Yahweh and His claims upon us as the "only God". Because they had once "lived again" at the resurrection when ALL in the graves were resurrected. The use of the word "again" illustrates this point. At the resurrection in the 2nd Coming, all the wicked will be resurrected, and together with the wicked still alive at the 2nd Coming comprise "the rest" in Rev 19:21 who were all slain with the sword. "the rest" in Rev 19:21 who were slain by the sword are the same "the rest" in Rev 20:5. They will "live again" AFTER 1000 years and will be thrown into the lake of fire. Quote

Hi Sis Rachel; No one is ignorant of Yahweh, Scriptures say so. Quote 8thdaypriest
Samie Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Wonder how soooooooo many people remained ignorant down thru the centuries - worshiping the creation, rather than the creator. Quote
8thdaypriest Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I started another thread on Romans 1, so we can get others input without detracting from the topic of this thread. Rachel Quote 8thdaypriest
