We are the yeast in the dough.

How much yeast is there compared to the dough?

The kingdom of heaven now is like a mustard seed.

How big is a mustard seed compared to the plant?

Pnatt - you mentioned blizzard conditions in a past post.  Do you have snow there?

Why not?  What you are talking about in being holy happens, supposedly, when we don't exist.  But being desperately wicked happens when we actually exist, and is seen every day through child abuse and other horrible things.  You could only assert that people are not desperately wicked by hiding your head in the sand (I heard this somewhere, can't remember where).

Exactly.  Seeing is believing. :)

"Seeing is believing" comes short of faith which is the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is not blind.

Believing is seeing.

I now understand these two brothers of mine talk of faith different from what is in Scriptures.

NKJ Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

They said up to 14 inches, but it was a lot less than that.  Looks like just under 4 inches.  More in the mountains though.

Christ exalted the character of God, attributing to him the praise, and giving to him the credit, of the whole purpose of his own mission on earth,--to set men right through the revelation of God.

Now I understand what faith is to you, the things you hope for, like life-rafts, all born saved, all undeceived, all in the BOL.... :)

God through Christ made us holy and perfect on the cross, so Scriptures say. And I simply believe it.

But hey, Pnatt & Wingnut complain, we were not yet born then; it's not possible.

I now understand them. The faith they talk of is limited to what they can see. And that is far different from the faith that Scriptures describe.

Does this mean anything to you?  Can you explain it using other words?

Samie, why is it important that we know the truth?  How does the truth set us free?

Not only what I see, but what I see in the Bible.

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I see most of the world as deceived and in darkness.  The Bible says so too.  The jury is in.  The world IS deceived and in darkness.

Faith is not the evidence of anything you wish for.

There's one problem others have with me and my position. I simply believe what Scriptures say. I am not into explaining what Scriptures say, just like what somebody in this forum usually does. And he requires me to do what he does. Sorry, brother. I have a simple faith, the faith of Scriptures. I simply believe what Scriptures say, NOT what your explanations want Scriptures to have said but did not.

The faith you see in the Bible?  Or the faith that you would have the Bible described but did not?

You can't explain what your words mean.  Or why what you are thinking should be important.  Or make any sense.  You just repeat the same phrases over and over again, but cannot explain the meaning of anything.

You don't seem to know why it's important to believe the truth.  This is really important!  I don't think you're scratching where it itches.

Scriptures: NKJ Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

That explains why somebody wants me to explain what the Bible says because he can eloquently explain it as evidenced above.

Try again please.  I couldn't understand what you were trying to say.  Why won't you answer the questions regarding truth?  Why is it important that we believe the truth?  How does knowing the truth set us free?

You are bringing up an issue and you want me to discuss it for you? Instead of bothering others with your issue, why not discuss it yourself, brother?

My brother explains the above verse as:

Yes, I want you to discuss it.  I don't think you know why knowing the truth is important.

So why bother asking Samie in the first place when you knew all along Samie doesn't know why?

I didn't know all along.  I thought you might have an answer.  When you couldn't answer, then I knew.

Then go ahead; discuss your own issue. Don't bother others with your own issue.

My issue?  Jesus said, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."  It is Jesus' issue.  It's why He came to this earth.

It's late here now, so I need to leave.  I'll give a nice answer tomorrow, but in brief, Jesus said "To know God is life eternal".  That's a start.
