Give it all to Jesus

Are you tired of chasing pretty rainbows?

Are you tired of spinning round and round?

Wrap up all your shattered dreams of your life

And at the feet of Jesus lay them down.

CHORUS:

Give it all, give it all, give it all to Jesus

Shattered dreams and wounded hearts, broken souls.

Give it all, give it all, give it all to Jesus

Only he will turn your sorrows into joy.

He never said they'll only be sunshine (sunshine)

He never said they'll be no rain (He never said they'll be no rain)

He only promised a heart full of singing

About the very thing that once brought pain.

Chorus...

And he will turn your sorrows, and he will turn your sorrows

Yes, he will turn your sorrows into joy.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

JUST OVER THE MOUNTAINS

Just over the mountains in the Promised Land,

Lies the holy city built by God's own hand;

As our weary footsteps gain the mountain's crest,

We can view our homeland of eternal rest.

We are nearing home! We are nearing home!

See the splendor gleaming from the domes afar!

See the glory streaming from the gates ajar!

There we soon will enter, nevermore to roam,

Hear the angels singing! We are nearing home!

We are nearing home!

Cool. We are Nearing Home. I like that one.

I pray that we are.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dare to Be A Daniel

Dedicated to Suzanne Sutton

Words & Music: Philip P. Bliss, 1873 (MIDI, score). Bliss wrote the song for his Sunday school class at the First Congregational Church of Chicago, Illinois.

This hymn and “Hold the Fort” were prohibited by the Sultan from use in Turkey.

Standing by a purpose true,

Heeding God’s command,

Honor them, the faithful few!

All hail to Daniel’s band!

Refrain

Dare to be a Daniel,

Dare to stand alone!

Dare to have a purpose firm!

Dare to make it known.

Many mighty men are lost

Daring not to stand,

Who for God had been a host

By joining Daniel’s band.

Refrain

Many giants, great and tall,

Stalking through the land,

Headlong to the earth would fall,

If met by Daniel’s band.

Refrain

Hold the Gospel banner high!

On to vict’ry grand!

Satan and his hosts defy,

And shout for Daniel’s band.

Refrain

May we be one so that the world may be won.

WERE YOU THERE?

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble,

Tremble, tremble.

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

* Were you there when they nailed Him

to the tree?

* Were you there when they laid Him in

the tomb?

May we be one so that the world may be won.

2nd verse of It Is Well With My Soul:

My sin - O the joy of this glorious thought -

My sin, not in part, but the whole,

Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more:

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

How COOL !

How many times do we just sing or listen and not really HEAR the words. But some are SO powerful.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

True. I've been known to sit down and *read* a hymnal just for that reason.

OK, here's the entire plan of salvation in one verse:

Reconciled by His death for my sin,

Justified by His life pure and clean,

Sanctified by obeying His word,

Glorified when returneth my Lord.

Isn't that great?! It's the last verse from "Cover With His Life."

That really is good. Do you happen to have the rest of the verses?

Words & Music: Franklin E. Belden, 1899 (MIDI, score).

"Cover With His Life."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Look upon Jesus, sinless is He;

Father, impute His life unto me.

My life of scarlet, my sin and woe,

Cover with His life, whiter than snow.

Refrain

Cover with His life, whiter than snow;

Fullness of His life then shall I know;

My life of scarlet, my sin and woe,

Cover with His life, whiter than snow.

Deep are the wounds transgression has made;

Red are the stains; my soul is afraid.

O to be covered, Jesus, with Thee,

Safe from the law that now judgeth me!

Refrain

Longing the joy of pardon to know;

Jesus holds out a robe white as snow;

“Lord, I accept it! leaving my own,

Gladly I wear Thy pure life alone.”

Refrain

Reconciled by His death for my sin,

Justified by His life pure and clean,

Sanctified by obeying His Word,

Glorified when returneth my Lord.

By our LOVE ...

We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord

We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord

And we pray that all unity may one day be restored

And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love

They will know we are Christians by our love

We will work with each other, we will work side by side

We will work with each other, we will work side by side

And we'll guard each one's dignity and save each one's pride

And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love

They will know we are Christians by our love

By our love, by our love

And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love

They will know we are Christians by our love

We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand

We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand

And together we'll spread the news that God is in our land

And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love

They will know we are Christians by our love

By our love, by our love

And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love

They will know we are Christians by our love

Love is patient, love is kind

Never boasts, not full of pride

Always hopes, always trusts

The evidence of Christ in us

May we be one so that the world may be won.

We need to remember how God has lead us in the past and is leading us now and in the future. He cares for us.

PRECIOUS MEMORIES

Precious memories, unseen angels

Sent from somewhere to my soul

How they linger, ever near me

And the sacred scenes unfold.

Precious memories, how they linger

How they ever flood my soul

In the stillness of the midnight

Precious, sacred scenes unfold.

Precious father, loving mother

Fly across the lonely years

And old home scenes of my childhood

In fond memory appear.

In the stillness of the midnight

Echoes from the past I hear

Old-time singing, gladness bringing

From that lovely land somewhere.

I remember mother praying

Father, too, on bended knee

Sun is sinking, shadows falling

But their prayers still follow me.

As I travel on life's pathway

Know not what the years may hold

As I ponder, hope grows fonder

Precious memories flood my soul.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Nothing but the Blood

Text: Robert Lowry

Music: Robert Lowry

Tune: PLAINFIELD, Meter: 78.78 with Refrain

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. What can wash away my sin?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

What can make me whole again?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain:

O precious is the flow

that makes me white as snow;

no other fount I know;

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2. For my pardon this I see:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my cleansing this my plea:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

(Refrain)

3. Nothing can for sin atone:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Naught of good that I have done:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

(Refrain)

4. This is all my hope and peace:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

This is all my righteousness:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Thanks for posting these, I hope you keep it up. We don't seem to sing these "oldies" anymore, it's a shame.

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,

A wonderful Savior to me;

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,

Where rivers of pleasure I see.

Refrain

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock

That shadows a dry, thirsty land;

He hideth my life with the depths of His love,

And covers me there with His hand,

And covers me there with His hand.

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,

He taketh my burden away;

He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved,

He giveth me strength as my day.

Refrain

With numberless blessings each moment He crowns,

And filled with His fullness divine,

I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God

For such a Redeemer as mine!

Refrain

When clothed in His brightness, transported I rise

To meet Him in clouds of the sky,

His perfect salvation, His wonderful love

I’ll shout with the millions on high.

Refrain

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Where Could I Go?

Living below in this old sinful world

Hardly a comfort can afford

Striving alone to face temptation so

Now wont you tell me

Where could I go but to the lord

Where could I go oh where could I go

Seeking the refuge for my soul

Needing a friend to save me in the end

Wont you tell me

Where could I go but to the lord

Life here is grand with friends I love so dear

Comfort I get from gods own word

Yet when I face that chilling hand of death

Wont you tell me

Where could I go but to the lord

Where could I go but to the lord

Where could I go oh where could I go

Seeking the refuge for my soul

Needing a friend to save me in the end

Wont you tell me

Where could I go but to the lord

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Interesting Link. I googled the name of the song and not only did she sing it but so did Elvis. But it doesn't say who wrote it. I guess I'm going to have to investagate.

Victory in Jesus

I heard an old, old story,

How a Savior came from glory,

How He gave His life on Calvary

To save a wretch like me;

I heard about His groaning,

Of His precious blood's atoning,

Then I repented of my sins

And won the victory.

Chorus

O victory in Jesus,

My Savior, forever.

He sought me and bought me

With His redeeming blood;

He loved me ere I knew Him

And all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory,

Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing,

Of His cleansing pow'r revealing.

How He made the lame to walk again

And caused the blind to see;

And then I cried, "Dear Jesus,

Come and heal my broken spirit,"

And somehow Jesus came and bro't

To me the victory.

Chorus

O victory in Jesus,

My Savior, forever.

He sought me and bought me

With His redeeming blood;

He loved me ere I knew Him

And all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory,

Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about a mansion

He has built for me in glory.

And I heard about the streets of gold

Beyond the crystal sea;

About the angels singing,

And the old redemption story,

And some sweet day I'll sing up there

The song of victory.

Chorus

O victory in Jesus,

My Savior, forever.

He sought me and bought me

With His redeeming blood;

He loved me ere I knew Him

And all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory,

Beneath the cleansing flood.

Anywhere He leads me in this world below.

Anywhere without Him dearest joys would fade;

Anywhere with Jesus I am not afraid.

Chorus:

Anywhere, anywhere!

Fear I cannot know;

Anywhere with Jesus

Anywhere with Jesus I am not alone;

Other friends may fail me, He is still my own.

Though His hand may lead me over dreary ways,

Anywhere with Jesus is a house of praise.

Chorus

Anywhere with Jesus, over land and sea,

Telling souls in darkness of salvation free.

Ready as He summons me to go or stay;

Anywhere with Jesus when He points the way.

Chorus

Anywhere with Jesus, I can go to sleep
