John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

So your brother lives in Jefferson, TX?

He doesn't live in the actual town if that's what you're asking. He lives about 15 miles north of Jefferson. But he's lived near Jefferson since 1977.

These buildings are still being used and are in excellent condition, although they were originally built in the 1800s. Many of the main buildings of the town are here.

It's photos like this that trigger a kind of depressing feeling in me. A once thriving place now looks like an abandoned ghost of a time past. Very strange.

Interesting comment.

My dear father used to say the same thing. When we were driving through the Midwest and would pass abandoned farmhouses, he said it made him so depressed because to him it indicated that a farming family had gone bankrupt.

[To me (having never lived on a farm myself) it only indicated that they had prospered and decided to move into town.]

Have you decided to stay permanently in Texas or are you coming home anytime soon? I want to see pics of Colorado too.

I just got into El Paso this morning and expect to leave Texas in the next day or two.

No offense to Texans but I would never stay in Texas permanently; I'm about ready to return to California.

Bomarton, Texas

This Catholic Church-- built about 1910-- is literally out in the middle of the Texas prairie without a single paved road leading to it.
