John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

It was fairly early in the morning but this part of town is also the "Historical section." Most of the people of the town do their shopping in the malls, leaving the downtown section pretty deserted.

This one reminds me of my stay near the Grand Lake of the Cherokees,Okla.

I see it's in the northeastern corner of the state. I'm afraid I'm going to be unable to go there. I may get into the southeastern part of Oklahoma for a little, though. We'll see.

A bedroom in the Wolfe house, Ashville, NC.

Thomas Wolfe's oldest brother died on this bed. His brother's death was probably the single most significant event in Wolfe's life.

"Ben" dies in this room in the book, Look Homeward Angel, chapter 35.

Old Washington, Arkansas, July 11, 2012

(Old Washington was the capital of Arkansas during the War Between the States while the Union Army occupied Little Rock. Picture was taken in the confederate state capital building. General Stonewall Jackson's portrait hangs on the wall.)
