Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 14, 2010 Author Members Posted January 14, 2010 LOL The first time I ever drank coffee was in Hungary and it was this thick super dark espresso. I gagged on it. None of us Americans knew that we were supposed to thin it out with milk. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Woody Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 When we 'play the Devil' do we have to announce it ... or can we be a 'sly Devil'. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 14, 2010 Author Members Posted January 14, 2010 I guess it's better not to announce it. But I like to know when someone is playing the Devil's Advocate, otherwise, things get mixed up and you don't really know where someone stands on an issue. But maybe that's what people want... The caffeine helps the headache. I think that's been a long-held treatment for migraines [and even for "regular" headaches]. Doesn't "cafergot" -- an anti-migraine medicine -- contain caffeine? And years ago, the standard medicine for a bad headache used to be APC [aspirin, phenacetin and caffeine]. Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....

Overaged Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Those who work exclusively from an Adventist apologetics perspective little understand or appreciate the value or benefit of either. Don't let the bloviators get to you... I haven't got enough faith to have as much doubt as what you create with such latitudinarianism. That religion has been around for a long time. It creates more problem than it solves. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 14, 2010 Author Members Posted January 14, 2010 PKRAUSE YES I have read that sodas with caffeine in them cause head aches dgrimm60 That's unusual because caffeine is the active ingredient in migraine remedies. Dr. Shane Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Well, caffeine is addictive and if a person addicted to caffeine doesn't get it, they will get a headache from withdrawals. So I don't know if one can say caffeine causes the headache or lack of it can cause a headache. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Moderators lazarus Posted January 14, 2010 Moderators Posted January 14, 2010 Is this an Advenitst forum or not? You'll be telling me that you all drink Coke. GreatLakesGramma Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I don't drink anything but water and herbal tea, and on very rare occasions, fruit juice. I drink green smoothies, but I consider them a meal rather than a drink. My health is very important to me. It always has been, long before I ever heard of the Adventist church.
