I've been feeling a vague sense of discomfort since I wrote something, but after a few days to think about it I realize that I owe John317 and others another appology. I had made some posts which are referenced on things pointed out in class and after class discussions from different of my professors and retired professors, in some of our different schools, comments I've read in passing in studying the Old Testament and Archaeology and the ancient world. Some of these were people who believe that the church should change it's position on the topic, others who think that the church does have the correct position and that we should keep it, and others who had originally supported the traditional interpetations of the text and over the years have now started to say that they were wrong and is now saying that the traditional interpetation of the texts does not fit the actual context and linguistic situation of the texts. These are usually not our "Liberal" scholars, but the conservatives and moderates.

I was refering to this and came to the end of the post and needed to wrap it up, a "and they all lived happilly ever after" and the best that I could come up with at the time was something like "if you are not interested in learning about this discussion you can pretend that it does not exist" or something like that, and I spent a long time before posting trying to think of a better way to say "and they all lived happilly ever after" nothing came to me so I posted. But I just feel that line was unkind, especially to the people who are dealing with this issue and I want to say I'm sorry.
