Truth Files Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Ezekiel 38:2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him The Lord addresses "gog" in Ezekiel 38 and 39 with respect to Israel's return to the land of Israel at the end of this present age The vision begins by addressing satan and his early involvement with the post flood inhabitants of the land area of Magog, son of Japheth, and his brothers [Genesis 10:1-2] Careful study of Ezekiel's vision and other related scriptures are necessary in order to identify gog [satan] and his involvement with humanity over a very broad time frame This includes his connection to both the spirit world, human kings, and the human organizations contained within the dominions of the human kings and their kingdoms There are some identifiers and other links to be considered which will lead to the realization that gog is not human This entity has angelic characteristics which can be determined by studying the identifiers and the links given in scripture Gog is identified by other biblical prophets as being connected with different human rulers, in different geographical areas, at different times, over periods which exceed the limitations of human life span [Ezekiel 38:17] The Lord's angelic creatures do not age and are the same today as they were at their creation in the beginning This angelic trait allows for perpetual involvement over vast time periods [Job 38:4-7; Ezekiel 28:11-19; Revelation 20:1-3] He notes that gog is a subject of many of the prophets, yet he is referred to as "gog" in only one other place in scripture .... in the 20th chapter of the book of Revelation This must mean that he is identified by different profiles and agencies in the visions of the other prophets [Ezekiel 38:17] All other references refer to him or his agents by some other name or title. For example, Daniel sees the "prince that is to come" [Abaddon-Apollyon] in the little horn [a human king] Both of these entities will be empowered and directed by satan [Daniel 7:7; 8:9-12; 8:25-25; 11:36-45; 12:7; Revelation 9:11; 11:7; 17:8] Gog is described as the chief angelic prince, in this case, of Mesheck and Tubal [the early post flood settlements of Magog's brothers] The term "prince" is generally applied to an angelic ruler in prophetic scripture who rules over, influences, and operates through human kings [horns] [Ezekiel 38:2] The term "chief prince" indicates that gog is the ruler or leader of others of the same kind The Hebrew word "rosh" used for "chief" is not in reference to "Russia" as some teach, but should be translated as "chief" or "head" prince. [Revelation 12:3-4; 12:9] The title of "prince" is revealed to Daniel in describing angelic activity related to the archangel Michael's battle against the opposing forces of the princes of Persia and of Grecia [Daniel 10:13-20] The title of prince is used by the Lord when addressing the human king of Tyre The message goes beyond the king to another entity [satan] who apparently has interaction and control over the king [Ezekiel 28:11-19] Isaiah contains references addressed to the prince of Babylon and to Lucifer These are descriptions of satan's existence as an angelic being and his connection and influence with humanity [isaiah 14:12-17] The angelic prince that "shall come" will be revealed at the end of this age during Israel's 70th week [the tribulation period of the Lord's coming judgment] Daniel contrasts this entity with the Lord, the Messiah, the Prince that was "cut off" [Daniel 9:26-27] This prince will stand against [oppose] the Prince of Princes, who is the Lord Jesus Christ The result of the conflict will be the destruction of this prince [first beast of Revelation] in the lake of fire at Armageddon [Revelation 19:20] Other references to satan and his agents in the visions of the prophets include the Assyrian, prince of Persia, prince of Grecia, the beast, Abaddon-Apollyon [angelic king of the abyss] the destroyer, the man of lawlessness, and son of perdition [Micah 5; Daniel 10; Revelation 9:11; 11:7; 13:1, 17:8; 2Thessalonians 2:3-12] Satan plays the role of "chief prince" when his angelic agents are functional He is the power behind them as they do his bidding on the earth in relation to the influence and control of human kings and their dominions [Ezekiel 38:2; Revelation 12:3-12; 13:1-2; 17:8] Abaddon-Appolyon is satan's [gog's] angelic agent for all seven heads [human dominions, kingdoms, and related human king positions] as they are defined in Revelation 13 and 17 He is the beast from the abyss .... the first beast of Revelation. [Revelation 9:11; 11:7; 17:8] This angelic "beast" [Abaddon-Apollyon] has seven heads [kingdoms] Five have fallen [are historical], and the other two [the one that "is", and the next .... his divided kingdom with 10 other kings] will exist in sequence during the 70th week decreed for Israel [Daniel 7:7-8; 8:9; Revelation 17:8-14] Abaddon-Apollyon's connection with the seven human king "positions" is limited to influence and control He is "of the seven" and is connected with all of them This limitation will change when the Lord allows him to become the eighth king himself by an actual incarnation This is the "lie" and strong delusion that the Lord will send against an unbelieving world [2Thessalonians 2] It will occur during the little horn's [human king's] rule in the seventh king "position" "Of the seven" can also be translated "of the seventh" which more specifically describes Abaddon-Apollyon's connection with the little horn at the time of the end [Revelation 17:11] He will then become the 8th king himself .... this manifestation will be exceptionally unique to humans who experience his presence [2Thessalonians 2:3-12; Revelation 13:1-4] __________________ Quote Stephen - Author - Truth Files

Truth Files Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 "but there just isn't any future 70th week!" That is what EGW said You need to read the Bible and understand it first Then evaluate what she said .... not the other way around The view of foundational preterism is in yours .... 70 A.D. was not the time of the end The 70th week decreed for Israel is still pending [Jeremiah 30; Ezekiel 38; 39; Daniel 9; 12; Joel 2; 3; Zechariah 12; 13; 14; Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21; Revelation 11; 12] Quote Stephen - Author - Truth Files
ClubV12 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Actually, that is what William Miller said. Don't get hung up on the anti Ellen White aspect of this. It can be worked out from the bible and the bible alone. Evaluate what Miller said, from the bible, would be more like it. :) Quote
Truth Files Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 EGW sanctioned MIller's work and said he was correct with his dating .... she then covered his error [the Lord did not return as Miller said He would .... and still has not] .... she invented the investigative judgment ruse which is not supported by scripture Quote Stephen - Author - Truth Files
ClubV12 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I support William Millers work as well, many people do. If you have a problem with Millers work, address THAT issue, there is no need to go on and on about all the people that don't accept it. If YOU don't accept it, show where he erred. Ellen White never set any dates, never covered up anything. Your anti Ellen White agenda bleeds through. What DID she do? Along with Hiram Edson, who was FIRST, she interpreted the meaning of the end date. YOU are doing the same thing, putting YOUR interpretation of the what Daniels prophecy means. Why should I believe you over, William Miller, Hiram Edson, Ellen White and many others. All great bible students. What makes YOU so special that I would throw out what these other people had to say on the matter in favor of your views? What makes YOU more special or more enlightened than William Miller? Quote
Dr. Shane Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Don't get hung up on the anti Ellen White aspect of this. Ellen White is a stumbling block to some folks. To others, she is a great blessing. ClubV12 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 William Millers background is well known, a serious student of the bible and impressive credentials. Hiram Edson, ditto. Joseph Bates, many others. Ellen White, 50 some books, quite the author, again, impressive resume. Here comes this new guy, Truth Files, saying, "Here, I have the truth." Who are YOU? What impressive resume have you got? What books have you authored? Had any visions lately? Why are YOU any more qualified to speak on prophecy than the next guy on the street? A bit egotistical I'd say, thinking your more qualified than William Miller, Joseph Bates, a host of others? I don't think so, WHY should I even consider your counsel? Whaddya got? Lets not forget, it was Samuel Snow that came up with the date, October 22, 1844. He shared that, studied with Miller, who then accepted that date noting the error's in his (Millers) original math. THAT date, October 22, 1844 fits perfectly in the time line. Why should I believe the 490 years is a separate part of the prophecy? I shouldn't! I don't! I think Samuel Snow was correct, and Truth Files (new kid on the block) needs to rethink his numbers on this prophecy. Quote

miz3 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Quit talking foolish. The construct of the 70 week I laid out was adapted by all our reformers, including Matthew Henry and Isaac Newton, not to mention scores and scores more. Ellen White only commented on what was already established on the 70 weeks. I don't care how many "big brains" you line up with your foolish theo, it is still WRONG! There is no "year/day" in the Bible. There is no "heptad" in the Bible. Thus, your seventy-weeks theories all fall down flat as a pancake! No Bible support, NO TRUTH! Quote
Lysimachus Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Miz3, The day that you actually come to our aid instead of always siding with those who oppose our faith, that will be the day. That will be an honorable and noble move on your part. Every time a new member joins and begins to advertising his opposing views, instead of uniting with us and holding up the fort, you only create more discord and unnecessary tension. You are always floating out to sea in your own little boat without chart or compass. You will be held accountable for the discord you have sowed instead of joining hands with God's remnant and exposing the end-time delusions for what they are. The great controversy is all around you, and you're right in the middle of the cross-fire not knowing what's up, what's down, what's left, or what's right. And if you don't take your stand soon, you will end up being among those who "wondered what happened"--after it is too late that is. You fail to see the BIG picture of the massive struggle. And I'll tell you straight: It is proper or improper prophetic interpretation that is at the heart of this battle. I really pray hard that the Holy Spirit helps you to snap out of the deplorable condition you portray yourself to be in. Quote ~Lysimachus (Marcos S.) Lysimachus Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Miz3, Instead of taking out time to BASH ClubV12 and Shane for their respect toward the inspired writings of Sister White, why don't you actually try to refute "Truth File's" post on Gog and Magog?? Read Marvin Moore's recent book, The Case for the Investigative Judgment. There's also the very excellent book, The Silencing of Satan, by Bradley Williams. These two books contain the evidence that the Bible does in fact teach that there's an Investigtive Judgment prior to the second coming of Christ. Yes, I read Marvin Moore's full book, "The Case for the Investigative Judgment". I don't agree with everything he said (such as the heavenly sanctuary being only one room, and not divided into two apartments), but everything else was good. Matthew 22:1-14 is actually outstanding proof against a pre-tribulation rapture. In verse 11 and 12, a man shows up at the wedding without a wedding garment. Question: What are wicked people doing in heaven showing up without a wedding garment? lol. It goes to show you that this marriage takes place while the saints are on earth, not when they get to heaven as pre-tribulationalists teach. And that wedding has been transpiring since 1844. Truth Files Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 John317 Sorry, I don't buy EGW's ruse .... she made it up so that she could say that Miller's date for the second coming was in fact correct .... no visible return to the earth, but another thing which she billed as the investigative judgment, which she alone claimed to discover She even predicted when this investigation would be finished, the door would then be closed to any possible further saving of humans, and that the Lord would then return ..... and she limited the time frame to say that she expected Him before her own death There is no scriptural basis for her ruse .... and not only that but the Lord did not come back before she died And if the door was closed on salvation as she predicted it would be .... then no one could be saved after and you and the SDA of today have a big problem The Lord's salvation is based upon faith alone [in His grace and His willingness and ability to save] and not of works, and is only imputed by His sacrifice at the cross and the acceptance of who He is by the believer .... who in turn is willing to recognize and worship Him as the living God of all creation The idea of some sort of investigative judgment process over time for evaluating those who have become believers implies salvation by works .... this then feeds the need for the SDA member to perform and adhere to certain selective legalisms set out by those who seek to control the organization I had an SDA tell me just the other day that he was not certain whether he was saved or not and is always told that he cannot know this .... I have to tell you that no one can be saved who does not believe it ..... to believe that the Lord will save them unconditionally with no doubt as long as they seek and willfully stay in the relationship The true spirit filled believer knows without a doubt that that they are saved One cannot save themselves by keeping selective and various rules set out by those who seek to control them .... this kind of intended mind control has the fabric of "cult like" behavior I see extreme divergence from very significant biblical truths being practiced by the SDA .... taking the teaching of EGW and considering it above the scriptures, and then scripture picking and force fitting selected scriptures out of context into the fabric of her established dogmas speaks of a controlled cult like religion And the SDA is not alone in this prescription for creating a proprietary religion that boasts of the one and only organization that has a monopoly on truth .... many have come to do the same and the list is long Quote Stephen - Author - Truth Files

If you can prove from Ellen White's writings what you state above, I will agree with you and throw Ellen White in the trash. So, now you have to prove from her writings that 1) She alone claimed to discover the Investigative Judgment; 2) She predicted (on the basis of a vision she claimed to have had) that no more human beings on earth would have a possibility of being saved. If you can show these two things from her own writings, you will have proved to me that Ellen White was a fraud. Can you do it? But if you fail to be able to show clear support from her writings for your accusations, will you agree that you should know her ministry and writings better-- and have your facts straight-- before you make such charges? Moderators John317 Posted July 19, 2011 Moderators Posted July 19, 2011 We're in complete agreement on this. I also have some reservations about what Marvin Moore says about the heavenly sanctuary only being one room without a veil, but beyond this, it is an excellent book. Bradley Willims' book is also very good-- in fact, one of the best I've ever read on the Bible's evidence for the IJ. Brad and I went to school together at PUC and are close friends. He is pastoring a church in Southern California, and he gives seminars on the Investigative Judgment. He will be coming out soon with an even better book on the topic.
