Sounds to me like you don't believe God selects any people to finish or carry out His work. Sounds to me like, in your view, after Israel's apostasy, God tells the whole world "you are my people now", instead of commissioning a special work to a certain people, just like He did Israel, to bear the message to the world. That special group of people were those who loved and appreciated the Advent message, and who God gave a marvelous gift--the Spirit of Prophecy. Yes, it is true that Ellen White said that "we" (the Adventist Church) are repeating the history of Israel. It is true that the Adventist Church in many ways has mirrored a proud boasting spirit of being the "only ones" such as the Catholic Church or the Jewish Nation. But let me ask you a question: Because the Jewish Nation was exacting in its traditions, and hedged themselves in, does that mean God didn't give them the truth? Does that mean Israel didn't have the true light as opposed to the rest of the world, even though they squandered their opportunity at effectively conveying that light? The simple answer is a resounding NO. In the day of judgment, your accusations against the Adventist Church for their misbehavior will NOT, and I repeat NOT justify the positions you have taken against their theology. The truths given to them were from GOD, just like the truths that were given to Israel. One may have the truth, but completely mishandle it. And your accusations against their mishandling and behavior is your erroneous reason to conclude that it must not be from God, and that they don't have the truth. I will add that as far as the SDA church, I do believe that we will be the last church that has been called by God. Or like they say we are the Remnant Church of earths history. Having said that I do believe that at the very end there will be a Remnant of all the different churches that will be waiting for there Lord and Savior. One of the reasons I believe the SDA church will be the last is because of the "time of shaking period." The Jews of old did not have this, this is why they were rejected as Gods chosen. As we've seen for many, many, many years all the different SDAs that have gone off to do there own thing. I believe this is still happening today and will till we get to the point where we will all have to decide between Sunday and the Lord's true Sabbath. That's where we will see people from many different churches siding with God and becoming what we know as the remnant of the last days, which will be made up of all the denominations that are left. I will read a lengthy Bible Study/Article in my free time that has a goal, but I do not take out the time to respond to posts that are just about defending their case. The hindrances to strength and success are far greater from the church itself than from the world. Unbelievers have a right to expect that those who profess to be keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, will do more than any other class to promote and honor, by their consistent lives, by their godly example and their active influence, the cause which they represent. But how often have the professed advocates of the truth proved the greatest obstacle to its advancement! You are not just trying to correct me. You are trying to correct the entire SDA Church and convince us to give up our FOUNDATIONAL teachings. Even though ALL our Protestant Fathers believed that the Papacy was the Antichrist, you are expecting me to be corrected about this position. Which means you are trying to say that ALL these men were wrong, and you are right. This shows that you do not see the workings of the Holy Spirit upon the MILLIONS who died on the martyrs steak because of believing the Papal System was the Antichrist! And if you keep along those lines, you will be AMONG THOSE who side with the Papacy and PERSECUTE God's people. No. It is YOU who does not like correction. It is YOU who refuses to be corrected by those of FAR more experience than just little ol' you. With Moderator's hat on: Here you are, back to writing as if you can read people's minds. How do you know it drives him mad? You need to stop doing this, miz3. I've talked to you about this several times before and it doesn't seem to do any good. I'm writing to you as the moderator due to the rules of our Forum. It doesn't make for a good dialogue for people to get into this kind of exchange. Can you please do what I am asking you to do about this? I appeal to you to try hard to make some changes in this way. I'd hate to have to delete and edit your posts.
