The Lord has not revealed the dating of His intervention

OK, but I am not asking for a date. I am asking about events, if any, that you believe the Bible predicts will be the fulfillment of the prophecies you're talking about.

You said I will know you are right. What will happen that will show me you are right?

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

This will be the first one [Revelation 6:12-17]

You will know nothing [if you are still living at the time] until the above event happens [1Thessalonians 5:3; Matthew 24:36-39; Luke 21:35] .... when it does you will know that you are under the Lord's judgment upon the earth

And then all of the balance of the events recorded for the 70th week decreed will follow exactly as they are written in the related prophetic visions

Most Dispensationalists will tell you "when you see the 3rd Temple being rebuilt".

But I'm not sure, because Truth Files seems to not believe in a Third rebuilt Temple, from what I'm gathering. He believes in a literal earthly Millennium Temple though.

There will be no temple of the Lord's on the mount during the coming 70 week according to scripture .... this idea is pure speculation and with no scriptural evidence [Matthew 24:1-2; Revelation 11:2]

His next temple on the earth will be built for His millennial rule on the earth just after the ending of the 70th week [Ezekiel 40-48]

There will no signs or events that can be used to predict the beginning of the period of His hour [time] of trial and judgment .... absolutely none

Satan's beast in the little horn will sit in a temple of his "god" at the middle of the 70th week .... this temple is already on the mount today

.... and a remnant part of Israel has already returned for the purpose of experiencing the coming 70th week .... the time of Jacob's trouble

But the Lord is still waiting until He is ready to pull the trigger

.... at a moment that no one can predict by any means

Do you believe that a person must understand Ezekiel 38, 39 a partiuclar way in order to be saved in God's kingdom when Christ returns?

What if a person loves Jesus Christ with his whole heart and strength and is living up to all the knowledge that God has given him? Will he be lost if he has a different understanding of some of the prophecies than you have?

Absolutely not .... one's salvation does not depend upon an accurate understanding of the prophetic scriptures

By faith is one saved .... by His grace and by His willingness and ability to save them ..... nothing else

One must believe this and must seek and continue in a willing relationship with Jesus Christ .... He does the saving

He has given His prophetic word for assurance to the believer and for a witness to the unbeliever .... the proof that the Bible is what it claims to be the world of the living God [2Peter 1:16-21]

What does Christ save us from?

Can I be a practicing gay person-- that is, in a relationship with a man-- and at the same time be saved?

John 3:16-17

He is against the perversion of homosexuality among other kinds of reprobate human behavior

If one is in this state they must turn from the practice in order to be saved, but this willing change will generally not come about by one's own efforts alone and one needs the power of His holy spirit transformation

He can and will remove the desire from one to practice homosexuality if one is willing to turn their life over to Him

OK, I actually agree with you. But in this case, you are saying that one's life and one's behavior does indeed affect one's salvation. God will not save people who are continuing to violate His will in the area of homosexuality, right?

In other words, let's say that I claim to love the Lord and want to be in His kingdom, but I don't believe I ought to have to give up a relationship that I have with my gay husband. Would that be all right? (There are many gay people who think this very kind of thing, so it is not merely theoretical.)

As a Christian, what would you tell me in this instance?

The so called "Millennium Temple" of Ezekiel 40-48 is actually a miniature model representation of the Heavenly Temple in the New Jerusalem, after it comes down to earth:

Does Dispensationalism Allow to Be Fulfilled The Very Prophecies It says Must Be Fulfilled?

By comparing Ezekiel's city with Revelation's New Jerusalem, it provides a way to calculate the precise circumference of the earth from the Scriptures. Also, upon close investigation, you will discover that Ezekiel’s prophecy concerning the city he saw was a small scale model of the earth made new, while the Temple was outside of the city a minimum of 5,000 cubits away to the north. Hence, in technical terminology, Ezekiel’s city, temple, and map were types or symbols of the antitypical New Jerusalem, Temple, and New Earth of Revelation. Otherwise, if the prophecy is to be fulfilled as it reads to the literal land of Palestine, the Temple must be rebuilt outside Jerusalem to the north (Ezek. 45:1-6), and Jerusalem would need to be totally rebuilt in the form of a perfect square, with three gates to a side (Ezek 48:31-34). Not to mention the entire reconstruction of the city measurements given by Ezekiel. Can the entire city of present-day Jerusalem be reconstructed to these dimensions within a period of 3 ½ to 7 years? Sound reason and logic demand this an impossibility, if not wild speculation. Dispensationalists truly have a major problem on their hands, and this is without even mentioning the scores of insurmountable difficulties we have not as of yet even begun to scratch the surface of.

Therefore, when we understand Old Testament prophecies with these lenses, we see therefore how many of these prophecies (such as sacrifices, and feast keeping) will no longer be fulfilled in detail to the literal nation of Israel, rather, "antitypically" to the worldwide body of saints. The sacrifices have met their end at Christ's death (antitypically), and feast keeping will be kept literally, in heaven, at the great supper of the Lamb.

The "New Moons" (meaning, monthly) will be celebrated when we convene at the Tree of Life once a month. (See Revelation 22:2 [Antitype] and crossreference with Isaiah 66:23 [Type])

This is why we see in Revelation that there is "no temple" within the New Jerusalem. Because this Temple is moved outside of the city to the north on Mount Zion.

Now we now why in Ellen White's vision of the new earth in Early Writings page 19, she saw the temple on Mount Zion at a distance from the New Jerusalem.

These things that Ellen White saw are actually revealing the antitypical realization of Ezekiel's so called "millennium" temple.

However, what Ezekiel saw will no longer transpire in its typical sense, but antitypical sense. Neither will it occur during the millennium. But AFTER the millennium. :)

Waht is this belief in the 70 weeks being placed in the future counterfit as to the real truth?

It seems to be a fairly widely held misunderstanding, with some variations of the theme. Some say it's tied to the rapture fallacy and such things, a lot of different opinions and interpretations. So I assume the evil one is counterfiting something, but what?

John, are you really gay? I wasn't sure if this topic was 'out of bounds' but since you brought it up I guess it's not.

It would be very hard to tell someone that they can't be gay, especially someone like you who already knows all the bible verses and SOP counsels.

I personally feel that the new covenant gives us freedom to do ‘all things’, but if by my actions I cause someone to stumble or bring shame upon my profession then I shouldn’t do those things.

This would be something that you, your husband and the Lord would have to address and I would never try to come across as condemning.

It would be very hard to tell someone that they can't be gay, especially someone like you who already knows all the bible verses and SOP counsels.

Why is what you wrote NOT legalism and works-righteousness? Wouldn't someone have a right to remind you that we are not saved by our works but only by God's grace without works of the law?

You seem to be saying that if we have truly and genuinely turned to Christ, we won't do those things. Is that what you're saying?

Tnx for not deleting TF's posts. TF has, it seems, worked hard and long to arrive at a prophetic understanding that is more comprehensive than any I have seen to date. The problem is that our 1844 sunglasses are just too dark, leading us to ignore OT prophecies that must come true, whether our Founding Fore-Parents paid any attention to them, or not.

I don't know why there would be a gap before the 70th week, since I believe that all seventy "sevens" will occur in the future, in a matter of weeks, not thousands of years.

As I see it, Gogue and Magogue must attack Israel just before the 1K years in order for Israel to spend seven years burning their attacker's weapons. Gogue and Magogue appear again after the resurrection at the end of the 1K years, attack the beloved city, and are permanently destroyed by fire from the sky.

I was active as a gay person for most of my adult life. I'm no longer living that way as of about 2004.

Yes, He has, and the reason I sometimes talk about it is that people who are struggling with things can know that God has the power for us to get out of any pit of wickedness that we are in. I don't talk to anyone about it except on the Forum, and I didn't say anything about it here until someone convinced me that there are people who need to know because they might be in the same kind of need and not know God can help them.

It sounds like you're saying that it'd be better if we would forget all about 1844 and what our church's Founding Fathers taught us and forget what Ellen White wrote. If that's the case, why not quit being SDA altogether?

Are you sure our Founding Father's didn't have it right about the OT prophecies? Where did they go wrong in a major way, you think?

You are wrong to say that SDAs-- that is the SDA Church-- claim the title and position of "God's people" exclusive to all other people.

You're misunderstanding the position of the SDA Church. We believe that at this time God has honest and sincere people in all churches, not excepting the RRC. So we do not claim to be the only people of God. Being one of God's people is not simply by becoming a member of a church. It's a matter of the mind and heart, whether one is truly committed to Christ and His truth. Some members of the SDA church, then, may not be in the truest sense of the word one of God's people.
