It goes back to Jesus' question "How do you read...?"

Some read it one way others read it another. So is one way right and another wrong?

Is it one way or the other or is it both ways?

"The path of the righteous is as the light of dawn, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day." Proverbs 4:18, R. V., margin.

Sure, I agree with you. As Paul said, let every man be persuaded in his own mind.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Revelation is a vision of the future [the things "here after"] and related to the coming of the Lord's hour [time] of trial and judgment against an intransigent unbelieving world [2550 days of it] .... and beyond

Thanks John 3:17

The idea is not to persuade others to see things exactly as we see, it is to study to show ourselves approved of God and to share and to learn from each other. Being mere mortals, we know in part and we see in part and we prophecy in part, but when that which is in part meets its final fulfillment WOW!

Then I followed the prophecy to John-Paul II, who repeated it by receiving the deadly wound and who did one better in that he was healed of his wound and received the healing of the papacy's loss of authority over the state (in America's sight which is very important since America is to pick up persecuting the saints where the papacy stopped) and America reestablished him as the head of ALL THE CHURCHES when Bush I declared him to be the "WORLD'S MORAL LEADER".

Did John-Paul II "leadeth into captivity"? Yes with his papal teachings including Sunday sacredness and receiving worship as if he were God; he led away from freedom in Christ to bondage to sin.

Whose teachings were these that he taught? Were they his own or from another?

"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast:" The dragon, i.e., Satan (Lucifer) "Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?" (Isaiah 14:16-17)

Did John-Paul II "go into captivity" like a prisoner of Satan?

As John-Paul II made others captive (prisoners of Satan) by his false teachings, he was himself a captive of the very one that gave the "power unto the beast:"

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men

The beast that is identified as arising from the earth is America. It arose around 1798. From my study it arose again so to speak in 1803 when France sold everything west of the Mississippi to the USA. Thrones were set in place when the state Governors, legislators, and courts were put in place in the eastern USA and again when it happened in the Western Territory.

The area west of the Mississippi (encompassed Missouri), Truman arose specifically from that area and he called fire down on Japan in WWII in the sight of men EYEWITNESSES twice. This confirms the location of the "prophetic earth" from which the beast with the lamblike horns arises. This prophecy is to be fulfilled again in relation to the mark of the beast and America compelling the world to accept its mark.

Thus as I read Revelation 13 and 17. The first beast (13) is the papacy. The heads are the popes. The head to be wounded was Pius VI and it received its healing when Pius XI was in office. The wounded and healed head are like pagan and papal Rome the two are one. The papal beast has 7 heads, the # of completion and the 7th is in office now. And he is in his 7th year.

The beast in Revelation 17 is the same papal beast. In the days when prophecy met history 5 were fallen: popes Pius XI & XII, John XXIII, Paul VI, and John-Paul I. One is, John-Paul II. And one is to come for a short time, Benedict XVI. Then the 8th is of the 7: John-Paul II.

As I read it this human being is John-Paul II in fulfillment of 5 are fallen, 1 is, 1 is to come & the 8th is of the 7.

John-Paul II fits best because 1) he declared Sunday was the Lord's day on 31 May 1998 & 2) the immortality of the soul is the second issue that deceives the world in the endtime. His body was exhumed recently and on 1 May 2011, he was declared to be a saint. Thus while it is documented that his body is in its crypt, he can advocate the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness.

Your challenge: prove that the man that looks like John-Paul II and claiming to be JPII come back from the dead is not him. Disprove his claim that God told him to change Sabbath to sunday when he was here on earth. Let your faith overcome the sight of those that claim, 'I told you my mom was in heaven interceding for me with Jesus' when PJII is in their midst saying ' It is true!' We anin't seen nothing yet!

That's really interesting, hch. Thanks for posting this. We all need to be sincerely seeking for truth and studying these questions.

One thing is for sure hch, there will definitely be a "future persecution", and the lamb-like beast will DEFINITELY speak like a dragon, and we will enter the great Time of Trouble as never before.

But as to whether that time of trouble will last a literal 42 months, as far as salvational benefits are concerned, it has no merit on me or anyone. We just need to be ready and ride it out, and if we make it through alive to be translated, so be it. If not, then so be it.

I see no savoring salvational benefit in preaching a "future 42 months". We know it will be "great", and terrible. But trying to figure out its last length is not in any way shape or form beneficial to us.

Ellen White is very clear that before the close of human probation, there will be many SDA martyrs. The persecution is one of the main things that will cause the shaking. If people aren't sincere in their beliefs and willing to suffer & die for their faith, they will fall away. It's easy to be SDA now, when it's a popular thing, but when it becomes extremely unpopular, it will be a different matter entirely. Millions will fall away who knew the messsage yet weren't sanctified by it, but their places will be taken by millions more who hear the message for the first time and accept it gladly even if it means persecution.

hch,

Didn't you say that the 42 months are to be repeated in the future, as literal time? Forgive me if I misunderstood you.

The 9/11/01 to 4/20/05 is definitely a new one. Never heard of that in my life from any Adventist. But I'll look into it.

Perhaps the reason I misunderstood you is because I know a number of Adventists who believe in a "yet future" application of the 42 months of Revelation 13.

It is interesting how there has been an explosion of endtime discussions on this forum.

There are so many of them it is hard to keep up. And in the prophetic clutter it is difficult to sort the facts.

But praise God that His Holy Spirit is guiding all those that have an interest to the truth that they need NOW!

So if there is no compelling evidence to make the claim that prophetic time stopped in 1844, I must conclude that prophetic time has continued since 1844, but the world and the church have lost the trail.

hch, the way I understand it is that God has given us different goals but all based on the condition that it has always been: When the Gospel is preached into all the world THEN shall the end come." (See also Exodus 19: 5-6 and Deuteronomy 4).

There were many times that Jesus could have come; both while the Hebrews were living in the land (there could have been a powerful revival had Elijah stood up to Jezabel instead of fleeing to Mt. Sinai. Had Hezikiah shown the Babylon emesaries his true treasure, his God, insted of his stuff the gospel could have spread in all the world-- the book "Lies my teacher taught me" points out that around the time of Hezikiah the Phoenicians were traveling to what is now known as the Americas, ships too small for frequent and major trade, but big enough to carry missionaries--, and the reform of Josiah were some high points, then at the end of the exile as predicted in Deuteronomy 4, when Jesus first came, the events around 70 AD and the Flavian emporers, etc. 1844 was

1. The last time we could set a specific goal date to go for

2. Brought us to the dawn of the age of exegesis. Today we get to study the Bible like never before. While we have to be fair to the pathway that the Lord has lead us, we have to be careful not to be bogged down in tradition. There are truths where we are in the right ball park, but can be more specific. We have to study texts as sometimes the context supports the year-day principle (or other cycle's principle) sometimes it does not, and sometimes they are litteral days within a year-day principle prophecy and that we have ended up dubbling the year-day. Some times there were prophecies that only part of the conditions were fulfilled and thus only part of the prophecies fulfilled, with parts waiting to be fulfilled. Too many people are afraid of exegesis. The liberal scholars are willing to study but sees it as only for back then and does not understand the consept of the living word of God that in one way or another will meet it's fulfillment. And the Conservatives understand the Bible to be the living word of God, but are terrified of there being any contraditions or prophecies not fulfilled to the exact detail (we need a principle of exegesis and analogy, and analogy is similar but may not be exact). And there are simply things that the Holy Spirit will not reveal to us until it is time for us to know.

Since 1844 we cannot pick a time to place the second coming, but we have not lost the trail. Revelation has the 7 periods of antichrists (Hezikiah's reform should have ended in good king Joshua insted of the fall of Jerusalem to Nebuchadnezzar) Thus we have Babylon, Medio-Persia, Greece, Rome, the Holy Roman Empire (including Papal supremicy), the deadly wound (a time of independent nations), the deadly wound being healed by a power that controls everyone on earth and their power to buy and sell that will end in total chaos and the first to mourn at the chaos are the merchants of the earth (or the corprations) thus indicating the 7th head being an economic power, and that around the time of the move from the 6th to 7th head that the oceans will be in trouble and the sun starting to give scortching heat. Today we are finding ourselves moving to economic globalism where the about 200 families of the super rich are owning everything around the world. The Republicans who use to be the party of the rich has now changed to the party of big oil, and the Democrats who use to be the party of the common people have now changed to be the party of big banking (of course they are owned by some of the 200 families, and the differences between the 2 partys have become so small that they have to stage cricises and show downs to appeal to people with conservative and liberal leanings) The Yellow sea is having a problem with algae taking oxigen out of the water, and around the middle of the pacific ocean there is a collection of garbage, especially plastic, the size of North America that is killing off sea life. When the sea dies then it would not be long for us. And while the conservatives being begiled by the Republicans to follow big oil down plays global warming, the Bible predicts these 3 (among other things) happening at the same time. Who are we going to believe, big oil or the book of Revelation?

We are still on track. But while I can point out events, I can no longer take Biblical time lines to point to when Jesus can come.

Should we forget these texts in our assessment?

Da 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.

Da 11:27 And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.

Da 11:35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

Hab 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Why wait so long? If Noah's posterity had all remained faithful, things would have been dramatically different.

But God is not limited to maintaining a plan "B" approach to man's salvation. He knows the plan and how people are going to respond to His love before hand. So it is not necessary for Him to always give what could be scenario's. His word is sure and He is able to bring about that which he determines in His own time.

Since the Spirit of Prophecy clearly states that Daniel and Revelation will be understood in the endtime by their fulfillment.

Thus now that these prophecies are almost completely fulfilled, we can see goal dates between 1844 and Christ's Second Advent.

The literal 1260, 1290, & 1335-days of Daniel 12 for example have been fulfilled. And those that understand them are truly blessed.

Who are we going to believe, big oil or the book of Revelation?

We are still on track. But while I can point out events, I can no longer take Biblical time lines to point to when Jesus can come.

I don't see it that way. When Daniel 11 goes from the 3 kings in Persia (457 BC) through Christ Standing for His people in 1844 and the Spirit of prophecy clearly states that the eleventh chapter of Daniel will have a final fulfillment that looks like a solid prophetic trail. But 1 in a million SDA's can follow Daniel 12:1 (1844 when Christ began to stand for His people in the IJ back to Daniel 12:6) back to 11:6 and align the prophecy fulfilled with history from 1844 to our day.

So rather than lacking biblical insight, God's professed people have lost the trail. We most often prefer vague general prophecies rather than specifics. Perhaps it is a fear of getting something wrong and thus loosing our credibility? No body wants to repeat the disappointment of 1844 and being a false prophet or worse. Unfortunately, for the sake of worldly esteem, I have had SDA's care more about "What if you are wrong" than the very message that we need at this hour!

Mrs. White said "The Lord could have come err this" and also had the "Food for worms" vision, Was she lieing? Was the vision lieing?

The Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary has a chapter called "The Role of Israel in Old Testament Prophecy" that talks about how the Lord could have come and set up the kingdom in ancient Israel. Is the SDABC Lieing?????

Becareful that you don't use the Historisists conclusions with a dispensationalist mindset. Historisism has traditionally been built on conditionalism, Dispensationalism has been based on determinism. But Dispensationalists have become so popular over the past century that it has been influencing us Historisists.

hch, I am giving your above post a big Amen!!! This shows that we are in agreement in what you have for some reason choosen to argue about. So that we can see what WILL happen, we are to first look at what COULD have happened and what DID and DID NOT happen and how WE CAN AVOID the same or similar mistakes.

However when I try to post pointing these points out you have lately been critical of them and, at least to me, you sound like you are trying to squeeze God into a strict determinist "It will be [was] fullfilled in these exact details end of story!"

We are going to learn and grow by realizing that God has given us the eternal living word of God, yet working with freedom of choice. Hezikiah's reform could have spread the gospel into all the world. When Hezikiah was sick and healed the message was not "Just shut up and take what comes to you" but God wanted to heal him, and when the representatives of Babylon came to visit, he should have shown them his true treasure; his God. Insead he showed his temporal stuff and instead of these representatives bringing the gospel and a couple of missionaries back and in not all that too long a time Christ could have set up his kingdom. Instead the representatives left with the idea of "We'll be back" and took the temporal stuff and people into exile and we started having different world rulers instead of Christ, or in place of Christ, In Greek the word for "In place of" is "Anti"

Deuteronomy 4 predicts the exile to be the last days. They could have been. We can have a better understanding of the controversial topic of the Investigative Judgment (one of my favorite doctrines) as we learn more about the texts around it and related to it. As well as developing the skill to share this joyful doctrine with others who are confused about it.

The principle is Exegesis and Analogy (in the dark ages the priests were in the right track with their type and antitype theory).

We did not learn this until the 20th century, long after or pioneers have died, but Daniel 8 was given the year that included 2300 days until the night of Belshazzars feast and Medio-Persia's conquest. However Daniel 8:14 does not say 2300 days, nor 2300 years, but refers to the daily cyclic time periods, thus including the day-year possibility. This fact down plays the 1255 day theory applied to Antiochus (while neither interpetation fits him well, also the 1255 day theory is based on Daniel 8 meaning to read "morning and evening", the specific term for the sacrifical service, but it reads "evenings-mornings" refering to the daily cycle and to the cyclic language that leads us back to the Levitical and Deuteronomic cycles.

We find that the 2300 days in Daniel 9 are reapplied to the 70 weeks of years prophecy, thus expanding it beyond the fall of Babal. Exekiel 38 and 39 applies it to the last 2300 days of the 70th week and what COULD have happened had Jesus been accepted when he came. We (myself included) avoid Ezekiel because there was so much that was not fulfilled, and the dispensationalists place all the exact details off into the future based on the theories formed to try to destroy Protestantism.

Both Historisism and Dispensationalism are guides to help us in studying. But both were developed before the rediscovery of the ancient world at was barely starting in the mid 1800s. Now Historisism has a longer history and has guided the church, especially St. Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria, who's ideas were lost sight of when St. Augustine became popular, however Joachim of Fiore came back to those priciples, and the Franciscan Priests, who believed that Joachim was a true prophet, carried on Joachim's ministry which eventually lead to Protestantism and the Advent movement of the 1700s and eventually Millism and Seventh-day Adventism, and yes, even to Dispensationalism, which also started out in this tradition, but then focused on Joachim's theory of the 3 ages and began speculating and speculating on their speculations and going off on a tangent with Adventism holding to the full traditions of St. Athanasis and Joachim and the dispensationalists building on a tangent branching off of it.

I believe that we need to not go off into Dispensationalism's tangent and hold on to the core principles as we have done. However we tend to make two mistakes. First we stop where the pioneers have fallen asleep instead of taking the principles and taking advantage of the age of exegesis to learn more and to grow. Second, we need to be careful to not go like that book "Warning Revelation is about to be fulfilled" or the sheppards rod and so many others who are going off on our own tangents. As Willie White lamented, we tend to have either nothing new, or new but too strange, not built on the foundation that has lead us thus far.

I believe that the way we will get the truth for our day, is by taking advantage of times in which we can live, the exegesis we can do, including studing what could have happened during the last 2300 days of Babylon, and the last 2300 days of the 70 weeks. It will enrich what 1844 means to us and prepare us for the second coming. Of course God transends time and space and does control all of this and is leading us and we will find that dispite the fact that the Lord could have come before this, that he will come in the fullness of time with God's purposes knowing no haste and no delay.

Frequently when only a part of a prophecy has been fulfilled that which has been fulfilled simply foreshadows a future fulfillment that is to come along later.

so when the Spirit of Prophecy states that Daniel and Revelation will explain themselves by their fulfillment, we can see what is meant.

I don't know if our thinking is in full agreement or not, but I believe that we are in the same ballpark here. We are dealing with the eternal word of the living God. We get the possibilities of what could happen, and if it does not get fulfilled, just as the Hebrews fist did not enter the promised land, we will cycle around again and return to Jordan.

This is one point where the dispensationalists really have it wrong. They see the prophecies on how God wanted to use Israel, and see things predicted for the 70 weeks. But they are Fundamentalists and sees these prophecies as written in concreat needing to be fulfilled to the slightest detail. No God gives us a pep talk as to what can happen, then if not then takes us into the wilderness to return. There are things that could have been fulfilled during the 70 weeks that have yet to be fullfilled. The dispensationalists want to keep it in the 70th week and since it was not done then, well the 70the week must not have yet come and they ignore what was fulfilled and have cut off the 70th week from the previous 69.

Also they do not see that Deuteronomy gives two possible futures for Israel. One is using the land, being in the center of the world, where the major trade routes intersected for the gospel to spread out the trade routes, and exile theology where they were to go into all the world and spread the Gospel and the exile is to end by the Messiah bringing them home. The world has changes so land theology does not fulfill the principles of land theology, and we are living under exile theology waiting for the messiah to come and bring us home. We will find analogies from what could have happened to what will happen.

We may be in the same accord, but that is a small car and there is plenty of room for two people. hanging

My study confirms the 2300-days in Ezra's day

the 2300-years to 1843

the 2300-years to 1844

the 70-weeks of years through the gospel going to the Gentiles

and the 70 literal weeks repeated 7 times beginning 31 May 1998

the fulfillment of the last 1260, 1290, 1335-days of Daniel 12

the last pope is in office in his 7th year (the number of completeness)

The 4th king from the earth is in office Daniel 7:17

The little time of trouble began 9/11/01 and is in year 10

America's financial meltdown is preparing for the implementation of the Mark of the Beast

Yom Kippur 2011 (7 October 2011) will be a few weeks after 2300-literal days since the 1335-days ended

I don't know the day of Christ's Advent, but if you take the time to check out these summary points, you will see that they have a solid foundation in the Word of God and the Spirit of Prophecy.

So we may be in the same ball park and even the same Honda (accord), but I might not be saying it like you are used to hearing it. The time of the end is for an "appointed time" and the 10-Virgins are soon to see that the 6000-years allotted for sin to run its course has reached its conclusion.

I might add that everyone who has listened to the Echoes of Doomsday (27 April 2011) and has taken their money form the markets and put it in to missions has turned what could have been a loss into a blessing. It is not to late, but the losses sustained will not be recovered if those with stocks wait for the market to rebound. It may jump up on false hope and drop twice as far and fast.

This is the time to put our money where our mouth is before it is too late. By our actions (our delay) we will testify how we believe the 3 angel's message or how we give it lip service.

Henry, the Day of Atonement starts at sunset on October 7, which technically would be October 8. The reason I say this is

in the early morning of June 19, 2011, I heard this in my mind, much like you "hear" yourself read when you read silently to yourself, "The Almighty comes October 8". At the time I did not know when the Day of Atonement was this year.

I don't have long to wait to see whether or not it was all in my head.:)

I don't know what to think. All I know is that I heard what I heard. At the time I didn't know what to think. I had prayed on the night of June 16th for some further information, if God was willing, on His return, and left it up to Him. I wished Him a happy father's day and went to sleep. That was a thursday night. On Sunday/Fathers day sometime between 4 and 5 AM, I heard "The Almighty comes October 8". What struck me as strange, other than the obvious, was that I rarely, if ever, use the name Almighty, when referring to God or His Son. I didn't know that the eighth of October was the Day of Atonement either. It would be impossible for me to randomly pick the day that the Day of Atonement was this year, so it may have been from God. What I have expected all along is that His "coming like a thief" occurs at a separate time then the "coming in the clouds". The Almighty, when He comes, will come to His trustworthy and sensible bondservant and fellow bondservants and the process of preparing the 144,000/priests will begin, I hope you will be among them my friend.
